I've never heard that? I know he got a large paycheck for the songs included on Anthology 1 that he played on, but nothing about him receiving royalties for any "Beatles songs"? I believe it was around 6 million pounds that he received.
Their voices were surprisingly quite crisp by this time in 1962....those years in Germany really made a difference in refining their craft. You can tell they're ready by this time to make the jump to ultra stardom.
