      Hey brother I’ve got a question. How come you don’t tie the jig directly on the line?

    • @903fishing
      @903fishing  Год назад

      @@RiverBankRay you mean directly to the braid? Why do I use a leader?

    • @jschro446
      @jschro446 Год назад +1

      @@903fishing I'm also curious why you use a barrel swivel and leader for crappie? I get it for catfish that death roll, but why crappie? (i've used swivel/leader and direct tie to jig in the past, doesn't particularly seem to matter with crappie imo.....but then again i've never used braid so maybe that's the difference).

    • @903fishing
      @903fishing  Год назад +1

      @@jschro446 I use braid and a barrel swivel because I fish heavy structure here in Texas. Whether I am fishing brush 20ft deep or 2 feet deep in the creeks, either way I will get hung up at some point. Lots of logs jams as well. So when I do get hung up, I either break off at the hook/jig head, or where the mono meets the barrel swivel. So when I do break off, I am only having to re tie the hook and leader vs a whole new setup.

    • @jschro446
      @jschro446 Год назад

      @@903fishing got it, so you don't lose the entire rig in heavy brush. Thanks man

    For the 75k contest , this my favorite video , it taught me how to set up the double jig with slip bobber , it also taught me to do a double minnow setup . Not only did it help my fishing but it also allowed me to show my kids and few other people to help us crappie fish, if I could I would comment on all your videos from how to all the way to just live streaming , said it before , hands down the best Angler on you tube imo , u do it all , bank/kayak/boat/livescope/ no livescope / minnows/plastics/ hand ties . Favorite video for 75k contest. Great instructional video. Super helpful in catching more crappie. I always used spring type bobbers. Never again. This setup allows you to easily change depths and find where these crappie sit in the water column. I have taught my kids how to use this technique. Slip cork has become our favorite way to fish for crappie. Something about watching that cork sink. Absolutely love the channel.

    Hey there, I seem to have problems with slipping on the yarn bobber stoppers. I don't use the plastic ones because of the small eyelets on a spinning rod. Do you recommend leaving enough yarn on the bobber stopper to be able to re tighten it? Great videos and an even better time of the year to be using a jig and cork for these crappies.

    • @903fishing
      @903fishing  Год назад

      No sir. And what do you mean by them slipping? Just in general they won’t stay on tight? Try to put the bobber stop on like you seen my do in the video. Try to hear that clamp noise on the line. And I definitely would not recommend leaving extra line to tighten later. That extra line will definitely get caught on the eyelets and even in the spool. Anymore questions feel free to ask. Thanks for watching! God bless!

      I’ll give it a go tm morning. Do you think braid is better than mono for the main line. Maybe that will keep the stopper from slipping?

    Gonna try this setup on my next outing quick question I know this may sound dumb but is it best to run the jig hook down the soft platic body and out the back or out the belly? For example on the slab city does the hook come out the minnows back or the bottom side belly.. If that makes sense

    • @903fishing
      @903fishing  Год назад +1

    • @903fishing

      I use a cinch knot for most things. And I use braid on the feel. Those bobber stops cinch down way better to braid than mono. It won’t slip
