@@jschro446 I use braid and a barrel swivel because I fish heavy structure here in Texas. Whether I am fishing brush 20ft deep or 2 feet deep in the creeks, either way I will get hung up at some point. Lots of logs jams as well. So when I do get hung up, I either break off at the hook/jig head, or where the mono meets the barrel swivel. So when I do break off, I am only having to re tie the hook and leader vs a whole new setup.

Favorite video for 75k contest. Great instructional video. Super helpful in catching more crappie. I always used spring type bobbers. Never again. This setup allows you to easily change depths and find where these crappie sit in the water column. I have taught my kids how to use this technique. Slip cork has become our favorite way to fish for crappie. Something about watching that cork sink. Absolutely love the channel.

Think this has been most simple video i could find to rig for crappie. My question is when using braid do you put a backing on the reel? Do you have a video of puttin braid on reel?

Might not be an issue for crappie fishing, but I wouldn't use a cinch knot tying braid to anything. I learned the hard way years ago when I first used braid and also didn't know to use a leader. I lost a lot of hooks and fish. This was also before you could search RUclips for everything. 😂

Hey there, I seem to have problems with slipping on the yarn bobber stoppers. I don't use the plastic ones because of the small eyelets on a spinning rod. No sir. And what do you mean by them slipping? Just in general they won’t stay on tight? Try to put the bobber stop on like you seen my do in the video. Try to hear that clamp noise on the line. And I definitely would not recommend leaving extra line to tighten later. That extra line will definitely get caught on the eyelets and even in the spool. Anymore questions feel free to ask. Hey question are these the 1 Inch slip floats? From Comal I can't seem to find these anywhere do you have a link to these? Or what bobbers would you recommend for casting/vertical jigging from bank for further casting distance
@@903fishing for example is the 3.5 the whole length of float from top to bottom of the including the pegs so that would make the actually float itself only like 1.75? Cause I'm not finding g 3.5 inch anywhere biggest I find is 2.25 but I think they are going by the bobbers length itself not including the tubes length
Gonna try this setup on my next outing quick question I know this may sound dumb but is it best to run the jig hook down the soft platic body and out the back or out the belly? For example on the slab city does the hook come out the minnows back or the bottom side belly.. If that makes sense

Use Thill bobber stop and burn the ends so they don't fray. So leave a lurks extra string

I put a bead on the bottom of the bobber also to assure the bobber works freely.

I would appreciate your opinion on what type of braid to use.....
I use 10# power pro braid to a 12# mono leader!

It must be trimmed correctly. I have had alot of feed back telling me people have this issue. I usually don’t. Mine might get caught 1 out of 50 cast.

I use a cinch knot for most things. And I use braid on the feel. Those bobber stops cinch down way better to braid than mono. It won’t slip
