this is a good representation of the modding community's growth throughout the years. if you were to compare, let's say the hex mod, to this. by a long shot this wins. the sprite work is better, the music composition is better, its overall better. but that was after all the mods before it. each new mod gives us a new quality we can add to our creations. and it added up to this. this alone has sparked a new era for fnf modding. it sets the bar a little higher than before, just like whitty did with that opening cutscene and hard charting all those years ago. or tricky with death notes. or shaggy with 6-9k. and all the mods with mechanics and unique features that came after it. its all building up. silly billy is a magnum opus, not only for sturm and the others who provided to this masterpiece, but for the modding scene as a whole. and im excited to see what comes next. cuz beating this is gonna take a powerhouse of a mod. so much so that we cant call them mods anymore, they are experiences unlike any other rhythm game.

I'm honestly shocked how much genuine work was put in this mod, along with the deep layers it has of backstory; and the tragedy of it's creator, who died in their sleep. A truly deserving popular mod, that needs more love.
This last part takes on greater meaning when you feel that the work is talking to its creator... unfortunately the modder passed away before this mod was ready, it's as if the work asked him to wait a little to see his journey. ..

For those who don’t know, there are 2 reasons for this cutscene, in a different dimension gf dies causing him to lose his sanity, also the reason he’s so tall is because that is how he always has been, another reason is because the guy who created him died, his name is divie, died in his sleep due to cancer, that is why boyfriend says “stay awake long enough to see my way” which means he wants him to be proud on how he was made when he was gone.

this is a good representation of the modding community's growth throughout the years. if you were to compare, let's say the hex mod, to this. by a long shot this wins. the sprite work is better, the music composition is better, its overall better. but that was after all the mods before it. each new mod gives us a new quality we can add to our creations. and it added up to this. this alone has sparked a new era for fnf modding. it sets the bar a little higher than before, just like whitty did with that opening cutscene and hard charting all those years ago. or tricky with death notes. or shaggy with 6-9k. and all the mods with mechanics and unique features that came after it. its all building up. silly billy is a magnum opus, not only for sturm and the others who provided to this masterpiece, but for the modding scene as a whole. and im excited to see what comes next. cuz beating this is gonna take a powerhouse of a mod. so much so that we cant call them mods anymore, they are experiences unlike any other rhythm game.

Usually I'm not a fan of popular mods because they either feed into current trends, or aren't as passionate as Silly Billy. I'm honestly shocked how much genuine work was put in this mod, along with the deep layers it has of backstory; and the tragedy of it's creator, who died in their sleep. This last part takes on greater meaning when you feel that the work is talking to its creator... unfortunately the modder passed away before this mod was ready, it's as if the work asked him to wait a little to see his journey. ..
I agree quite a bit in that, this song and the entire mod in general have a lot of symbolism, but they all always lead to the same thing, that this mod is a great love letter, both to the original creator of Yourself, and to the FNF community, definitely one of the best mods that the community has seen in recent years

im pretty sure everyone has heard the story but i’ll summarize it
Divide was a sonic.exe mod developer and he had cancer. He has been working since 2.0 and 1.5. He died in his sleep. “Stay awake” is referencing Divide as he was sleeping and he died, the song is telling him to stay awake for one last time to see “my way”. Someone had came into his room and found the sketches of his character, this is supposed to be Lord X transforming into boyfriend called “Lookalike.” It was later renamed to Yourself. Yourself has a girlfriend just like BF but she sadly passed away due to a car accident. “Stay awake” is also telling GF to stay awake, in this case, GF is “Herself.”

there is. in this world, bf (yourself) lost gf (herself), so it caused bf (yourself) to become emotionally distressed, and show that hes just your typical emo 19 year old. and basically yourself is just doing everything he can to see her again. but little does yourself know, herself is actually possessing the microphone (thats why its red in the opening cutscene) and in the lyric part, theres the red aura around yourself. ofc yes its about divide dying yea yea this is still a tribute but theres also lore in it
