  • A giant cone of inner tubes stacked together may someday help cargo, or even people, land on another planet or return to Earth. NASA calls the spacecraft technology HIAD - Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator. A HIAD technology demonstrator - the Inflatable Reentry Vehicle Experiment will be launched in summer 2012.
A HIAD could allow NASA to send more scientific instruments to distant worlds, because it weighs less and can expand from being packed inside a rocket to accommodate larger payloads that can land at higher altitudes.

Use EMF sheilding. The heated air, upon re-entry, will peel off. I gave the idea to NASA 10 years ago. They used it. I didn't get paid.

EMF=Electromagnetic Field. Satic electricity is a molecule thin barrier that can peel of the spacecrafts skin along with built up heat due to atomospheric turbulance. 500 electrodes sub-cutaneous on the underside and nose at 500,000 volts and .005 amps should do it. High speed low drag re-entry.

What do you mean by EMF shielding?

haha, at the end how she said "... in space", is like how people say "...in my pants".
later this year... in my space pants.

the idea is a lot older than 10 years, sorry.
