  • Sigung CST demonstrates the power that can be produced through the release of the Shoulder Girdle. You may also know shoulder power as "Elbow Force", "Heavy Elbow" or "Zhang Dai Lik".
Correct relaxation of the Shoulder Girdle area allows for bodyweight to be transmitted through the arms. I hope viewers find the video useful as a reference to get a visual "idea" of what Shoulder Power is and how it should be executed. Watch how Sigung moves and compare that with students' attempts.
Further footage from the old CSC archives on the same subject (Shoulder Power) will be forthcoming.

The link between the arm and body is the shoulder joint. Its the most complex of all joints in movement. Before meeting TST I thought I could use my shoulder joint fine until he pointed out about finer relaxation now after some years I have benefited from his guidance relaying on less muscle tension.

Thanks Mark. I wish I had Graham’s footage. Its great to see this stuff now. Really grounding and useful. Particularly where you have experienced how little effort Sigung used to teach us . 👍🏻

Can you relate the power generating from centerline or shoulder power only?
