Thank you for this video. I learned a lot. I’m getting prepped to handle two pups when they get big enough.

even though it's been a little more than 3 months that I commented on this video, a selection of my Aechmea broms have pupped via stolons. Have not seen them flower at all, but i suspect they may have already flowered prior to buying or may well flower afterwards. One thing I did note on a ratty old clump of a Neo that I did not discard the very dead mum ( pulled her off the root mass) and just left it on the ground.. low and behold, there's still life it that dead looking mass and three pups have come off it! Sometimes you just have to keep them aside and you'll be gifted some final bursts of life!!

Mike, I have seen the same thing...on supposedly spent remains with the adult plant long gone, a pup emerges... pretty amazing!

I've got hundreds of compacta broms...they're fast growers and easy to mount anywhere. I bought about 60 and are space fillers.

Fortunately, bromeliads don't get a lot of problems, but manually wiping scale or mites seems to work best...there are some vids in the archive that explain it in some detail...thanks a lot for watching!

How long can a removed pup wait before being planted? A few days, week? Keeping in mind they are being watered and have water in their reservoir
