As someone who has lived in Florida for over 35 years I can tell you Rockstar absolutely NAILED the Florida aesthetic with so many small details, it's crazy. We are a place that is beyond parody, beyond exaggeration, we could stream you local news and probably give away campaign plot points. I haven't ever played GTA for longer than 8 hours but I'll be picking this up on day 1, and looking for my house.
Yes, finally! When a new GTA game is announced it’s such a big moment not only in gaming but in pop culture. I still remember running home to see the GTA V trailer, watching the GTA IV trailer on G4 and reading about GTA SA on magazines. Rockstar games hit different.
As a Floridian, I'm hyped. Looking forward to seeing what they did with the Everglades and what animals they include. There are so many fucking invasive reptiles and birds around my house that I'd be disappointed if they didn't tap into that element in the game. Miami has a few more invasive reptiles than other areas. If they at least included Muscovy Ducks all over, then I'd say that's a win right there for nailing South Florida. Those RT lighting really pushing the boundary of how amazing games can look. In a way I'm glad it's coming out in 2025, that'll give me enough time to get a new rig! I'm def getting the vibe that you'll have to make choices to get various endings. GTAV flirted with that idea but only at the end, maybe this one will act more like a RPG, having to make choices from a long way off; at least that is what I want.

Just like the micro animations on people when they move is super impressive. The hair swaying, the clothes deformation, the facial muscles moving, and the body jiggles for all characters shown is WILD. That's what marks the difference between uncanny and realistic.
Godamn R* absolutely never fucks around! Looks legit amazing - Isla hit it too, the style of GTA let's them ramp up how real everything looks without weird elements breaking the immersion - fuggin masterclass!
I REALLY hope that this is more RDR2 than GTAV in the story department. I hope that it is sincere where it counts, I hope that there is a proper focus on characters. Once that is locked in, go crazy with the wacky, zany stuff lol

It looks like a cinematic, but that is most likely just how damn good the game looks. Look at the lighting, all the details, the liquor bottles, the clothing, the facial expressions. Dude. Hype.
The hair looks insane, other games have tried to do individual looking strands or open hair like in DMC, but this is on another level. Over all the quality of random character models is super impressive, they actually look good finally. While GTAV and especially RDR2 looked good, there was already something off about most character models.
Rockstar bides it's time well. They could have launched a half assed gen 4 console GTA 6. But they waited and developed a new engine for the gen 5 to get maximum out of the hardware. Such a genius move to make people play your games forever, because i still play gta5 sometimes lol

GTA and God of War were the two biggest properties that I completely avoided (until GOW 2018). GTA remains a franchise that just has no appeal to me. Even under the lenses of satire I don't vibe with the most of the cultures and lifestyles that this game edifies. I GET why people jive with these games, but I GET why I DONT'T want to GET into these games myself. Unless GTA has a GOW growing up arc (which I know it never will) I probably will never play a GTA. There is more to be said if I was talking 1-on-1 with someone and anyone is welcome to ask. I realize that this game will be an icon of the industry (for better and worse) and it will influence conversations and minds and podcasts for years to come but I don't foresee myself participating beyond a (mostly) silent spectator.
Maybe it will be in early 2025? I really don't think Take Two or Rockstar give a crap about capitalizing on the holiday season. They know, it doesn't matter when they decide to release it. They could release it tomorrow, and it would still get close to a Billion dollars in sales the first day.
Somehow, the way that characters move in GTA, you can still spot the "janky" movements of the first game. I'm not sure what it is, but the way how they move is still different than other games. Even Red Dead Redemptions characters move differently, although it's the same engine.
