Hi Lisa. I am a 71 year old Turkish citizen. I have lived in many countries around the world. About 10 years ago, my wife and I decided to go from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok by campervan and then fly to Kamchatka by plane. Unfortunately, heavy operations came one after the other. Our dream is still alive. Maybe one day we will realise our dream and you will guide us in Vladivostok.

Yes, but not for breathing. Very moist, hot, hard to breathe. The city is located mostly on the high hills, but this particular part of the city is nothing but hills and fog. You go to walk you constantly climb, you sweat, you get tired in 20 minutes. Lovely swamp on the hills. Strongly not recommend.

Great music and walking tour. The hills and foggy weather are very interesting. Vladivostok is in an amazing geographic location and has incredible sea and ocean coasts. It is the largest Russian Pacific port and headquarters of the Russian Navy Pacific fleet. Most Americans do not know that Russia borders both China and North Korea and Vladivostok is very near to both. Incredible facts. Do Russian people travel by train to both China and North Korea? For many Russians, this is obviously their home. Thank you beautiful Lisa for your personal tour of your hometown. 😍🤩❤

As I think about 10-15 years ago it was very common to go to China for weekends or to celebrate some special occasions like birthday, new year or something like that. It was cheeper compared to Vladivostok, but now it isn't. tbh I don't know about North Korea, maybe there are some russian but I think it's not so popular as China-trip.

The weather is like the Bay Area no doubt, in summer the Bay Area is foggy and in winter too!! And believe me , if you compare Vladivostok to say Oakland, Vladivostok looks much better. Great video , Good job !!

What I noticed was Vladivostok is a very vibrant city with people moving about. I am in the US, west coast of Florida and go to most US cities especially in the so called blue states or democrat states, there are closed and boarded up businesses everywhere for blocks and for lease signs. They are filled with homeless people living in tents or just sleeping bags in the sidewalks which is hard to walk on because there is little room. Even in LA in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive, the famous shopping area it has one boarded up or closed up shop after another and for lease signs everywhere the same as London's High Street. The US like Europe and the UK are collapsing. Currently in the US we are in a commercial real estate crisis and disaster plus crime in downtown areas. This is effecting many banks as they are not being paid on the loans they made to those owning the buildings. One large high rise building just sold in San Francisco for only $6.5 million US dollars and it was bought some 8 years prior for over $65 million. This shows you the extent of the disaster happening all over the US. Inflation is out of control and over 75% of the population are simply living paycheck to paycheck and over 60% cannot even come up with $500 for medical or emergencies. Over 50% are only eating 2 meals a day. This is being kept from the public from politicians and the Main Stream Media, MSM as they spend billions on wars backing apartheid and genocide in Ukraine and Gaza and of course the millions of illegal immigrants flooding across the borders. Last month over 400,000 jobs they say were created but most of them were given to illegals and not Americans. The fact is unemployment claims spiked so what really happened was Americans were fired and illegals hired giving the illusion jobs were created but were actually not. So Vladivostok may need a little paint but when you see lots of people moving about and activity everywhere it shows an economy that is doing very well unlike here in the US. America I knew is no more.
The largest financial consulting firm on the planet has computer models that make forecasts and the west is collapsing and they need resources and assets to stay propped up which is why they are harvesting Europe, Syria, trying to in Iran and Russia and now going to war with China. The west including the US will lose this war and this will end up destroying western cultures and its economies as we are watching in real time. Some forecast by the computer models: "That has been the forecast of our computer for decades now and instead of listening, they try to defeat it. "What 2032 represents is the complete collapse in government. The current system of socialism is collapsing." We are on the path to 2032. We need to start thinking about what new form of government we must create. Our current version will collapse by 2028." This is all needed because the monetary system is collapsing and we have reached the end of the road of fiscal mismanagement of borrowing every year, running deficits under socialism to bribe voters. But they are reaching the capacity to sell their debt. As interest rates rise, nobody wants long-term debt. The only way to escape this debt crisis is to create war. That will be the excuse to default on all the debt and start all over again, hopefully with a reduced population.
“We are looking at a sovereign debt default. This is what’s going on. This is why Biden will spend whatever he wants because he knows he doesn’t have to pay it back. Eventually, this is what’s going to happen. This is Schwab’s agenda.”
“Civil unrest will only get worse” this year, (2023)and we will have full blown war next year” (2024) They need war as the excuse for the defaults of all the government debt.” This is Klaus Schwab’s ‘Great Reset.’ They know they have a serious problem. They lowered rates to below 0% in 2014. They just started raising interest rates. Meanwhile, you ordered all the pension funds throughout Europe to have more than 70% in government bonds. Then they took it negative. All the pension funds are insolvent. Europe is fiscal mismanagement on a grand scale. There is no way it can sustain itself, and we are looking at Europe breaking apart.”
Europe is the problem. . . . The crisis in banking will start in Europe. . . . The debt is collapsing. They have no way to sustain themselves. The debt market over there is undermining the stability of all the banks. You have to understand that reserves are tied to government debt, and this is the perfect storm. The West is Crumbling & Putin Knows it"

Thankyou for showing us! Fitting that your building should be a happy pink! The terracing of buildings following the curves of the mountain with plenty of natural green spaces between them, plus the magnificent ocean views are a great housing solution. It seems quiet and elegant without businesses facing the street, as multicoloured word signs are such a tinny-tinny eye sore in cities!... A couple of proper restaurants and tea rooms would be nice, as the pastries do look tasty....an architect, gardener and decorator make all the difference. Painting and maintenance in salty foggy places is typically endless. Wood or stainless steel rails and decks would look nice with the wildflowers now the trees are young. We loved looking for grasshoppers, caterpillars, ladybirds and mantises 🐝🦋🌼in the playground long grass, and sliding down embankments on cardboard magic carpets. Ah....! Childhood days!

I lived there. A piercing wind blows there most of the year. The humidity is also very high in summer. Terrible traffic jams every day. There is no place to park the car, the bus does not run normally.
These are boxes for people on the mountainside. Thousands of people live there. They all need to leave the area for work and then return. Every day. On foot, can you handle a climb a couple of hundred meters high and a couple of kilometers long? There are stairs everywhere. There will be ten floors of stairs between you and the nearest store. In winter it is all covered with snow and ice.
It looks interesting and beautiful on the screen, but in reality it is a terrible area, one of the worst in the city. I lived there for 20 years, I know what I'm talking about.

Hilly landscape overlooking ocean is stunning and the old buildings are structurally very solid. All they need is more artistic façade, stylish windows and color coat, and these Vladivostok neighborhoods will come alive, like classical European cities. Russia is so vast and thinly populated, therefore it is not possible to have Moscow-like cosmopolitan cities everywhere. Even in USA, young people leave small remote towns to enjoy living in the hustle and bustle of New York or San Francisco.

Vladivostok seems like a very unique place, I love the hills and trees but not a fan of the brutal modernist architecture, however there are even some places in England and France with a fairly similar style, mostly from the 1960s & 70s, I grew up in one of these places near London. By the way Lisa this hat really suits you очень хорошенькая ☺

Hi Lisa…. Another great vlog from Vladivostok. You may be surprised to know that… in the 60's 70's and 80's, we were building in England exactly the same 'concrete grey' high rise flats that were built in Soviet Russian times. And just like you, some are being upgraded, but a lot are being replaced with more up to date architecture. Loved those two children at the end of your vlog. And yes, children are just as curious here in the UK and ask exactly the same questions! I am looking forward to your next chapter!

Wow I was so surprised when you were talking about there being nothing in your neighborhood -few stores or cafes etc-but then you walked right up to a fresh produce street market! In more rundown areas in the US, there might be liquor stores with packaged snacks like chips and soda, but it would be EXTREMELY unlikely to find any fresh produce at all-let alone this much of this variety and quality!
Typically to get produce of any kind from a neighborhood that looks like yours in the US, you’d have to drive for at least 15-20 minutes or take a bus for about an hour or an hour and a half!

Thanks for making these. Especially about the marina. There’s space to modernize here and there but can’t think of anywhere with as much ‘instant’ potential if we can finally have some peace (past (arctic) trade routes add Power of Siberia 1 and 2 pipes and (big) if a friendlier America reindustrializes).
Most and worst car jams and accidents on noodle roads or not, Silent Hill mist is always OK. Seems even more cloudy but not as rainy as where I’m from (Bergen in Norway). Have to go between them like a yo-yo for many decades to be sure in my report about which is really the Chongqing (have to go there too) of sea port cities.

It reminds me of Seattle minus the rain. Seaside cities can get foggy, grey and and look cold when blue skies and sunshine are absent. Your video would’ve brought out more of the city and the water bordering it had been clear. You know this is what black and white photography looks like: light and shadows. And sometimes you can capture the mood of a place where you can’t bring out contrasts. Thanks for the video and your hometown is special no matter whether it appears day or night in the camera. Looking forward to more next time! 😊

Greeting Lisa. Thank you for your video as always. Vladivostok . I always wondered why the buildings in other countries are left without colors. In America the majority of our older buildings are made with the brick facade. Our modern buildings now have many designs but are not as beautiful as your older government buildings with the beautiful designs.
    Thank you again.

In order to paint the buildings, all of the owners or tenants of the flats would have to throw down to cover the cost. Many are painted, many not.

Concrete jungle all pretty much look the same lots of people in a small space to a degree. I prefer the country vs city less people and buildings ✅ I'm currently planning on living on 40 acres no neighbors 😊 🌲 🦌 🐻 🐿️ 🌄

    • @СергейРудой-ч6к
      @СергейРудой-ч6к 4 месяца назад

The concrete jungle sounds very negative. But it has its positive aspects. Most people can afford to have their own apartment, not to live on the street. Especially in the Siberian climate, where the apartment must be heated from September to May. And on cold days, the temperature drops to -50'C. This is outside the city, and in the city it is 5 degrees warmer. To live outside the city, you just need a car, and in the city you can do without it, since there is public transport. You can go to the store on foot. And much more.
