In Canada, Metric and Imperial are interchangeable and one or the other are used particularly for certain things. Your drivers license will say "180cm", but you will tell someone personally that you are 5'9". Outdoor temperature is in Celsius, but Indoor temperature is in Fahrenheit. Road-distance is measured in Kilometers, but Houses are measured in Feet.
The metric system was only adopted in the 1980's, so for most Millennials, they learned and used metric exclusively in school, and learned and used Imperial exclusively at home.
If you say to most Canadians (especially old-stock Canadians), that a recipe calls for x-many grams of ingredients to be baked at x-degrees Celsius, they will not have any idea what you are talking about. There is absolutely no frame of reference there. They can all visualize a "teaspoon" or an "inch", but will not be able to express "x-many milliliters" or "2.24cm". It's like speaking an alien language.

Indians use metric system in almost every area but when it comes to temperatures, we use celsius for the weather and fahrenheit for body temperature. If anyone told me it's 76°F outside I would have no idea how much it is and will have to use the formula. And if someone said their body temperature is 36°C I really wouldn't know if that's a fever temperature or not.
Even for measurements like for roads we use kilometres but when it comes to clothes inches are more prevalent.

What makes it chaotic is in the winter you can have weeks of 20 degree weather then all of a sudden get a 80 degree day.
