    i learnt this from gram, that guy from the recording revolution. the thing is i've never pushed the kick with the vu, what i do is gain the kick into the vu to around that -3 and then push my bass in until it reaches 0vu (let me know what you thick, pushing the kick with the vu makes a difference. #blessup)
