Excellent all around review of this shoe. I’m evaluating it for purchase and you really nailed all the aspects that I like to know. Excellent excellent analysis!🤩
I really want to like this shoe! Love the way it looks, but the deviate 2 was bouncy and that’s what I need from this. I’m a heavy big runner 6’2 220lbs. I do believe it has some nitro elite foam in the top layer because in running shoe warehouses video (from running event I assume) the print said nitro elite but production it was removed on all shoes except the nitro elite 3.
I'm 6' 2" and took these for a long run this morning. They are really great for my size. I do get a decent amount of sink on each foot strike but the foam is firm enough to bounce me back, even at my weight. Max stack shoes don't often work for me because it feels like I'm running in quicksand. However, he's definitely didn't have that feeling. I would recommend them for any bigger runner looking for a good easy trainer.
I’m 6 foot 175 lbs These absorb really well but didn’t exactly feel super bouncy. I’d agree these work well for a bigger runner. Especially those that have a tendency for rearfoot striking. I’d also think about those with lower arches
I’m a similar size and have put about 15k in last week. I was looking for a replacement for my nimbus 25. Rumour is that last year’s nitro elite is this year’s regular nitro foam. I feel like they need a break in period for the foam to unlock a bit more bounce. I love the rocker for just cruising at zone 2.
What I heard it night be closer to a Nike Invincible 3 ( high cushioning that wants us to run fast !) . And I liked that idea too get a cushioning shoes for a comfortable and slow run , but then if we want to run quickly, we can.
Well heck 😂 hey-it’s worth a bunch. I appreciate it. When I hear 8mm and above it places things into a different category. Probably lends to it being a good rearfoot landing cruise control shoe. Thank you 🙏
That’s an excellent point and a few comments have mentioned that. It makes complete sense. I will be cognizant of that going forward and probably have some dedicated non running aspects of the shoes. In fact, good timing as I’m working on one very like that as well speak 😊 stay tuned 😊
True! So many choices! This is a ginormous slab of nitro compared to the deviate so depends on your stack height preference. I don’t have the dev so can’t say for sure. This one is a lot of take and not too much give back in the way of energy return. Not always a bad thing
DN3 has a plate imbedded in the midsole, which is intended to give you the propulsive bounce during a run. Magmax is plateless, which is ideal for easy, recovery run when your feet feel beat and tired.
Absolutely! Embedded carbon plates are excellent at retaining LBS longitudinal bending stiffness and allow a firm and consistent area for the foams to uniformly compress and expand. This plus a rocker bottom propels us forward and saves energy. It’s great. Platelets shoes rely on foam alone (cool movie name?) It’s a fun time to be a runner to see how companies deal with these two worlds and tweak each lane with each shoe release. Thanks!
@@richardclayton625 great question. The MagMax is coming with me for my next long slow run. When that’s done I’ll let you know but my guess to your question is yes 😊

It’s perfect for z2
How would you compare it with shoes life Nimbus 26 NB More V5 & Saucony Hurricane 24/ or Triumph 22

The v5 is much softer and has more energy return IMO. But the more isn’t great at the rear door landing and the MagMax is really good at that
Yup that’s a good quality in a shoe. One that does multiple jobs. For the most part. Looking forward to the invincible 4
Upper looks a lot like the gel nimbus 25, especially the tongue
Wow! Then I should check out the Nimbus. This upper on the MagMax is one of my favorites this year. Thank you!
@@RunningNPAdventuresI’ve got 200 miles in the Nimbus 25 and I’ve got a pair of the MagMax arriving today….looking forward to comparing the two
Sweet let us know how it goes 😊😊
This or 1080 v14? for daily walking
For me it’d be the MagMax for daily walking (brisk) everyday errands with some light walking (lifestyle) then 1080
Hello vro nice review.. i want to ask you what is max highest high stack plush cushion shoe this puma or skyward x or fresh foam x more V5 ????

What will they be like for walking only?
Hola 👋.
I think these would be good for walking 😊
What will they be like for walking only?
I think these would be outstanding for walking only. Especially with that heel bevel!
@@RunningNPAdventures Thank you !
You’re welcome!
FWIW, 47-39=8mm drop.

Is this more wider than superblast 2?
@@cappox I don’t have exact measurements but I believe it fits wider than the SB2
Remember when you do reviews that many people where these 2 work they don't run

Offft, Puma Deviate Nitro 3 or Puma MadMax.....decisions decisions.

Would this Magmax for long easy slow runs and deviate nitro 3 for intervals etc be a good rotation and compliment each other?

Not in wide 👎
Nope not yet. Weird
