monopoly is a good game for teaching/learning about how horrible capitalism is... and yall have played the role of exploitative bankers/CEOs to a T here!
I realized watching this back that I spend a lot of time on my nitpick-y criticisms, but I really did have a lot of fun doing this puzzle. If I had had this when I was a kid, I definitely would have solved the jigsaw part of it over and over, just like I did with all of the other Puzz3Ds I had. Also, when you see the timer disappear during the assembly, that’s because I accidentally left it running while I took a break, so I lost my official time. But, I was moving the camera around so much that it wouldn’t have been accurate anyway. I estimate that it would take about an hour to assemble if you weren’t also filming.
I am surprised you were able to partially disassemble the puzzle. I have seen many PUZZ 3D puzzles in thrift stores over the years that are used and disassembled to a point where it would not be workable again. Good job!
I have done that puzzle because I found it in my parents' stuff....I have to admit it felt a bit gimmicky and it was more of a novelty item. I assembled it, played once, disassembled it and gave it away😅 And the hotels and houses' containers were so annoying, I just took off the little roofs altogether. Good riddance! 🤭
Apparently, Monopoly wasn't MEANT to be a good game. It was designed by someone to highlight the issues in the economic system, and they gave it a completely different name. However, some guy saw it and thought it could make some money, rebranded it and after a few years, a classic was made. It can definitely be fun with the right attitude and the right people, but it's really easily turned into the instigator it was intended to be.
I’ve heard that! And the original inventor was a woman, who is no where to be found in the official story they include in the box 👀 This video is long enough that I didn’t think I should also go into the whole history of Monopoly, but it’s really interesting to read about.
Its a horrible game for several reasons, some of the main ones are. a. someone gets knocked out they are no longer part of the game (modern games avoid this). b. the end of the game drag on forever because there are no limits on turns/laps (modern games avoid this) so you can never estimate how long a game will take, this also mean everyone is just sitting around waiting for the one person in the lead to eventually win. c. its all dice and almost zero strategy (modern games avoid this), the first two-three laps will decide a lot of the game, the rest just drags out. edit: making a puzzle of it is the best way to go.
It’s a great game for teaching that even if everyone starts out equal, capitalism will always result in monopoly ownership and everyone else in poverty. Any 9 year old should fully understand the nature of capitalism after playing monopoly 4 times. Without regulation, fair turns to inequality. Everyone being ok turns to masses in ruins. It makes no sense that right wing economics exists when literally children can comprehend it
I'm a game designer, and my biggest annoyance with Monopoly is that if one person doesn't really want to play, it can and will ruin it for other players who do. I'm not even saying everyone SHOULD really want to play games and take them super seriously, people will join a game for many reasons and that's fine, but that shouldn't hurt the other players.
i'm always so sad cause my family and friends are always reluctant to play and not really enjoying it, and i love monopoly. I can never find someone willing to play it for more than an hour :/ i loved it since i was a kid and it's like everyone hates it.
It would make sense to know that Monopoly was originally invented to spread awareness of how awful it was to own monopolies of land, and that had its patent bought out to make a board game by Parker Brothers, and that company was bought out by Hasbro. So it wasn't originally made with enjoyment in mind like some other games.
@@jmg999 the original game Monopoly was based off of is called The Landlord's Game and the intent of the creator was to show how harmful it was if property was controlled by monopolistic forces. What's fun is that the original game came with two sets of rules; the capitalist set, which closely resembles the modern Monopoly rules, and the anti-capitalist set, which allows any wealth that gets created to be shared equally among all players Honestly, the word monopoly doesn't really have positive connotations in general so it's not surprising that the game can cause friction
You cut your hair and it’s so cute! I love how satisfying the puzzling process is with those foam pieces. Personally I think monopoly is fun but it can just drag on for so long. Like a puzzle, even if it’s huge and takes a long time, you know there’s a finish line. Thanks for another great video Karen!❤️
I noticed that too :D 28:23 - hair. exists. 10 seconds later: half of it gone. took me like 3-5sec and i thought "wait" - and had to go back a few seconds to confirm that im not just imagining it
The rule in my house was that we played until my sister started to cry. I think in this case, I could make her cry by just putting the unsolved puzzle in front of her.
My favorite monopoly is Disney monopoly. Me and my younger sister played for hours and hours as a kids. We threw out the crappy cards that make you go in debt super fast. We also bent the rules a bit because we competitive but also felt really bad when the other couldn't afford to visit a property. We learned that we were genuinely caring of each other and always had a great time playing to see who in the end could survive.
Be glad you’re not a business/finical major. I heard from a classmate, who’s a business major, that near the end of the semester, the class had a fun day of playing Monopoly. They totally had fun, but everything change when the fire nation, I mean, the teacher attack! Turns out that game day was actually the first part of their final. So if you had the lowest housing and stuff, your final would have been on the easier end, BUT if you were the one that was on the winning side/ making the big bucks, you’re screw due to the amount of work needed for that final. And that classmate suffer because she was making bank. Also I couldn’t find a way to add “3D”.
It feels kinda stupid, but when you mentioned your sister doing 3D puzzles, I was kinda proud to think "Yes, I already knew that!" :D Makes me realize, I've been watching your videos probably since 3 years
They have a “speed” version, now. A third die gives you specific extra actions each turn; the average game takes about 45min and really speeds up the slow and painful loose all your money phase!
We used house rules. If you went around the board twice you had to change with someone else. It could have been someone in the room or the person next to you, and that included everything, money, property, and Boardwalk. The game would last for the entire weekend. I also wanted to say, I like your haircut.
When I was about 10 my dad was transferred to Germany and my brothers and I had a game that lasted most of the two week trans-Atlantic troop transport ship voyage. Later, in college we played with the circa 1973 National Lampoon's Miracle Monopoly Cheating Kit. This was not the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation version, it was a set of additional "house rules" and game add ons. I can remember $1000 and $5000 bills, Chance and Community Chest cards like "Railroad strike bankrupts all railroads", Title Deed cards that greatly increased the value of the cheap light blue properties, and a bridge that allowed you to go over the three green properties in a single move.
If you play proper rules it's a lot less bad, but it's still the worst popular board game. The main thing to realise is that the idea is not to earn money. The idea is to bankrupt your opponents.
I have always done puzzles for probably most of my life. Doing them with my Mum when a kid and now in adult life. Every Christmas I am given puzzles as gifts. So it came a delight when I was recommended your youtube videos and I discovered you. Wow what a wonderfully lovely, happy, always smiling person you are. It is such a joy watching you construct puzzles. I am hooked on your videos. Really great viewing.
I liked how you put the whole puzzle together like how they are made before being cut. That was cool.Puzz 3D can be very confusing but colorful.I loved the little animals on the fence type pieces.Great video and great ASMR!I like Monopoly in general but it takes a long time when others get bored.
Another great video! Very weird concept for a 3D puzzle indeed, but you're right in that I've never seen a jigsaw puzzle that is a functional board game, too. Also those ASMR crunches of the pieces slotting together were so satisfying.
I actually have this in my closet. My parents bought a set for me and my brother. The funnest part was putting it together. Never really played it, because I would have to dismantle and put it away.
I remember getting this for Christmas when I was a kid. I remember putting it together as we watched the new years ball drop on tv. Sorting for the red dots before solving, and it was very relaxing, but I also remember being careful because you didn’t want to accidentally throw a piece away. I had to replace it when it got damaged when my parents basement flooded years ago.
My uncle always said I used to cheat at monopoly when I was a kid playing with him. As I got older I couldn’t remember doing this but thought I must have been so clever to be cheating at monolopy as a kid… recently I found out that my “cheating” was just refusing to pay or telling him he owed me money for no reason 😂😂
One of the fun things we did when I was a kid was create board games. I just did them on paper, so they've all gone into the dust bin of time, but creating our own games was something my whole family did in the 60s.
When I was growing up I made several paper board games based on Mario Party. Unfortunately they never really made it past the first half of the art phase. 😂 I was too entertained gradually dipping into making it more and more D&D.
@@arlaxazure486 I think that might be how I eventually got into D&D, which didn't exist until I was a teenager. We had no video games to copy, either, since we were kids before computers became available to the public. We just made stuff up out of our own heads!
Unfortunately I don't think this one will be added to the main collection at my parent's house anytime soon, since the box is so big and unwieldy to travel with 😞
I'm proud to announce that my 4 year old cousin can now build up to 200 piece puzzles with relative ease. I think he'll like it if I end up gifting him my old 500 piece puzzles in a few years.
Regarding playable board game jigsaw puzzles, there are some in the EXIT series published by KOSMOS, where you build (and manipulate) a jigsaw puzzle in an escape room-style adventure. They are not 3D but you may want to make a video about them. The tricky part is that it would be full of spoilers.
Tbh, I love when youtubers create a smooth transition for the ad/sponsor, kinda makes me feel like watching it since I didn't see it coming; even if it is a product I'm already familiar with.
I feel like you sacrificed yourself to do something I didn’t realise I wanted to see and I’m very grateful for it. IMO the best RUclipsrs are those who can make people feel interested in apparently uninteresting things. Your skill in this is profound!
That is puzzle is so cool and unique! I use to love playing monopoly growing up with my family. UNTIL.... my husband ruined it. LOL. He played more competitive and serious. so after a few years I finally said I will no longer play that game with him. LOL But I still loved playing with my kids. 😁
I love Puzz-3D's but didn't do as many as I wanted to mainly because I had nothing to do with them once I did htem. The two I did that I really loved (and kept the longest) was R2D2 and New York City. R2D2 was huge, something like 2ft tall and cylindrical (duh). I think I did that one first, back in University and brought it with me across multiple moves. New York City was probably the biggest puzzle I ever did. I got it after 9/11. So the fact that it had the Twin Towers made it extra special at the time. I think it took me a few weeks to do, mainly working after work while I was in California. I kept it assembled (I think I took it in to work at the time and left it on a spare desk for a few months), then moved it with me back to Ottawa. Eventually I gave it to my parents and mom took it in to her high school classroom for a bit and it disappeared after she retired I think.
As a Puzz 3D collector, I don’t actually have this one so I was interested to see it. I have a wide ranging age of puzzles from all the different forms of the company that made them and there was an era where the sticky for the picture has not aged well. My daughter has LOL Monopoly, that’s fairly basic and still takes ages! Love the haircut, by the way x 🧩
Monopoly is fun when the people who are playing are into it. If one person isn't it can easily make it a miserable experience. So depends on who you are playing with.
Cute video! I just have to say Karen that your content inspired me to purchase a 1000 piece Disney Queen of Hearts Ravensburger puzzle because my dog just had a knee surgery and it is going to be a very long recovery. The first 2 weeks she can only go outside on a leash just to potty and mill around for 5 minutes 4 or 5 times per day. I haven't worked on a puzzle for over 50 years so this is a good activity for being stuck in the house for what seems like eternity! Almost done with that one so I guess I best order another one. Probably getting 'Winged Things' next.
This was a fun video! Thanks for sharing this 3D puzzle. :) Love your new hair cut! I kind of think this was really clever. I've only done one Puzz3D, the Taj Mahal, and it had so little to help you put it together, design wise, so this puzzle would be fun to put together, I think. Monopoly is an okay game. We had our own rules for the most part though I have also heard that if you play by the real rules, it's much less frustrating.
These puzzles can be so frustrating to build (the 3D aspect at least), but also so satisfying. My biggest gripe is the pieces start to pull off and the nubs get weak when you take everything apart, even when you're being extra careful. I begged my parents for the New York puzzle when I was a kid and then never did it (because it's hard!) I have reacquired it in my adult life to finally give it a shot but....yeah all those buildings look the same. I haven't been up for it yet!
3D...I did the flat Monopoly puzzle and played a few games on it before putting it on the wall. I grew up alone and my parents hated games except for Bridge and I could never learn it (dyslexia). But I love board games so I have a Monopoly (and a Catopoly) game. Since I played alone, I changed some rules based on the original and it can be played by 2 people in an hour or less. I have shown people and many prefer it. Plus, in my 20s, I had a roommate and we actually played a game in 15 minutes! (Monopoly encourages people to make or change the rules to make it easier.) Thank you for the ASMR!!!
I'm literally currently working on a custom monopoly board themed on my dog!! Monopoly is so much fun and redesigning board games are also fun!! Such perfect timing for a monopoly themed video!!
Ahh Puzz3D, they were everywhere for a few years. in 1998 i tried to help a friend build his Empire State Building that he never got around to, we spent 2 or 3 nights on it and gave up. around 2002ish i tried to build my brothers Millennium Falcon that he never got around to, i spent a few weeks on it and gave up.
The Empire State Building is a tricky one with all of the endless pieces of windows that look exactly the same. I much prefer the colorful ones like this!
The Millennium Falcon had to be the hardest Puzz-3D I ever did. Besides all the 900+ gray pieces, assembling it into the 3D image was such a tricky process.
This board is a nightmare, why did they make this?! You're a true hero for doing this assembly. The center part would have given me new levels of stress.
I saw a lot of Puzz3D ads on tv back in the’90s, but I never got the chance to try one. This video really gave me a sense of what it’s like to put one together and it looks like a lot of fun. I didn’t know they were still being made, but now that I do, I’m definitely going to have to pick one up. And I would absolutely like to see you solve a modern one. 3D.
This is sooo cool that it's an actual playable version of Monopoly! And it looks pretty deluxe too - that bank money holder and the house/hotel holders are so neat! I want more 3D puzzles that are playable board games! As for Monopoly being a good game - I think it's fine when played by the rules. I'm not super into auctions or negotiations so it's not my type of game. My husband loved playing it when he was growing up so he knows all the strats and has taught me them when we play together.
I think one of the problems trying to get into to monopoly growing up is that no one followed the rules and kinda made it up as they went. It is best played by the rules and most fair and ends quicker if the rules are closely followed. I think for people that struggle to understand the rules, a good option IMO is the video game version of the game, it enforces the rules electronically and seems like it goes by quick.
I was a teen of the 90's. I remember them coming out with a huge variety of monopoly boards at that time. So I'm not too surprised that Puzz3D jumped on that train as well.
My family love Monopoly! We gave several versions and it's tradition to play on Thanksgiving. My Dad (93) was very good and the skills he learned in the game helped him in real life. 🎉
I think that puzzle was designed by a genius and put together by somebody with a lot more patience than I’d have!! I used to love Monopoly as a kid though not a 3D version! I think it’s a great family game and we always played according to the rules.
Just like puzzling monopoly has competitions. They are played with a three dice set called Speed Dice. It makes the game faster and it can be quite fun. There are also championships held world-wide. I love playing Monopoly online also. I think you did great with the "3D" puzzle. Thanks
The house compartments and the money holder really remind me of folded space dividers. They are used to organized board games. This whole time i was doing a 3d puzzle to make my board game organizer.
Haven't played Monopoly, 3D or otherwise in approximately 20 years - when my youngest was about 6, lol. I think I've played by the actual rules maybe twice, usually house rules. Usually a time limit. Somebody gave us an "opoly" game styled with local place names for where I live - we haven't opened it yet - I think even the draw of place names we know is not quite enough! I could see from the beginning that the jail was likely to be an issue - glad there was a door, and when you put the house/hotel boxes together they were being tricky - I'm sure that wouldn't get better with play.
Hi Karen. I love Monopoly and puzzles! How did I not hear about this puzzle!? Love how you like to challenge yourself. Wow! Interesting piece of art.😊 About the chests, perhaps you could use them to store tokens and dice?! My only concern were the trains in front of the tunnels. They put all that work into them and then cover them with the trains.😢. Hope you have a great week.
One time, as a full adult, I played with a friend of mine who I would describe as a “mousy librarian.” Very shy and an actual librarian. At one point I left to use the bathroom, and when I came back I was shocked to see that my money, property and houses were half missing. She insisted that in her family if you left for the bathroom or a snack you took every game piece with you, and anything left behind was fair game. Talk about “house rules!”
As an aside, we have a lot of board games from child hood which we modified with homemade pieces and cards. Monopoly is an obvious one with adding our own playing pieces. To give you an idea… we had great success with cluedo, all the characters and weapons were replaced with photos and models of members of the family, and the weapons were little models of things more relevant to us. I recall an underdone turkey for example, in a Christmas set of weapons. Never leave a board game unadulterated……
That's such a great idea, my family was always so precious about the original pieces that we never would have considered customizing sets! So fun to have holiday-specific weapon sets with things relevant to your family!
Karen, two things: 1) You have to get the 3,000 piece NYC Puzz 3-D and build it so it’s one massive sheet 😂 2) Have you considered ASMR videos with Puzz 3-D? The parts with no music and just the sound of the foam pieces was so tingly! ❤
1) If we remember correctly, it came in two bags, so two sheets. But still, it would be an impressive feat to achieve! 2) That snapping sound is indeed addictive! Keeps you puzzling for hours 😊
43:40 Karen: "I don't know how to play Monopoly." Me, noticing (among other things) a hotel on Oriental Avenue, nothing on Vermont and two houses on Connecticut and also a hotel on Park Place and nothing on Boardwalk: "You don't say..." 😂
Wasn’t this a game that also became popular because it was released during the Great Depression? Its popularity could just be from boredom or something to kill time. Even if I am wrong about this, I find the game fascinating. In all honesty, my family has made several house rules to it, so that everyone can enjoy it, even if they are losing. However, I do hate that there is little strategy in the game. I love games with a little bit of luck and strategy, so just dice makes it hard to strategize. As of right now, I have been working on my own custom game based on monopoly with additional strategical elements. I will likely not publish it because it could cross copyright laws if there are any, and it would be difficult at my current life stage. Anyway, I have a love hate relationship with monopoly because it is both fun and annoying at times. If you read this, Thank you! Have a wonderful day!
There are all kinds of strategies to playing Monopoly. Most people just don't realize it. For one, it is better to own the 2nd pair of colors on each side of the board. This is because the cost to build 1 house on the pink properties is $100, but it's also $100/house on the orange properties. But the Orange properties have a higher rent generated when they are landed on. The Orange properties are very lucrative to own because going to jail is really common during the course of the game. An average dice throw score is 7, however, when rolling to leave jail, you must roll doubles, so that means 6 and 8 are the most common rolls to get out of jail. It just so happens that 6 and 8 from the Jail square take you straight to an Orange property. Also, it's really good to be in jail in the late stages of the game, and it's really bad to be in jail during the early phases of the game. This can save you a precious $50 each time if you know that. Another strategy is to avoid creating hotels because this will help to create a housing shortage. There are only 32 houses, and you aren't allowed to have anymore than that. So if you have two colors monopolized you can very easily get 24 of the houses built up, leaving only 8 houses to be built across the rest of the board. That prevents others from being able to build up to your level and essentially guarantees a win. Another strategy is realizing that the most bang for your buck on rent pricing is to prioritize getting to 3 houses on each property as quickly as possible. There is a much larger increase in the rent due going from 2 to 3 houses than there is from going from 3 to 4 houses. If you can secure a monopoly of any color, start mortgaging your other properties immediately to create more income to build houses on your monopolized color. The key to giving yourself the best chance of winning is to bring yourself as close to bankrupt as you can without tipping over the edge.
I think in present company I can safely and uncontroversially say that assembling this _Monopoly_ puzzle is almost certainly guaranteed to be more fun than *playing* _Monopoly_ XD EDIT: 48:07 The puzzle on the bottom left is one I've assembled and have hanging on my wall... but it has _UNO_ cards at the bottom left corner rather than standard playing cards! There's got to be a story there.
I remember playing Monopoly at a kids summer camp type thing once where a lot of the kids more so the older ones were claiming you could do ridiculous things. I don't recall me and my friends ever getting to play the game with the intended rules LOL.
This is probably the coolest version of monopoly I have seen! I thought it was so funny that you at first kind of complained that it is not very 3D, and then you actually proceed to make it even less 3D and just solved it completely flat! xD
I'm a Monopoly defender! Yes I realize it suffers a little from ancient game design, but if it's played actually according to the game rules, the game DOESN'T drag on for 6 hours, because the game is made to bankrupt other players, and most people inserting a bunch of free money into the game just makes it take a lot longer. So yeah, I think it's a pretty fun game, and I would gladly play Monopoly over certain "popular" games like Ticket to Ride, *any day*. Nice puzzle!
I've never really been drawn to 3D puzzles, I prefer the flat on the table variety. In a way 3D jigsaws are similar to making Lego items or any other 3D item. They take up space and collect dust! I appreciate that there are people who love doing them, as does your sister Katie. I have done three Monopoly jigsaws, a 300, 750 and 1000. Yet to find one of my home city and I doubt that I ever will.
Actually, the first part of building a 3D puzzle is building all the "sections" flat first, like multiple small 2D jigsaw puzzles of various shapes. Then, it moves to more of a construction toy as you assemble all your sections together in 3D. And then, it can be displayed or stored, as you see fit. But there's no harm in displaying your achievement for a few days or weeks before putting it away 😉
I think monopoly is a great board game if you play with house rules. I’m talking you can steal, free parking rule, you can make up your own cars so long as no one calls you out. My family has always played with these rules and we’ve had so much fun playing it. We do occasionally play the normal way too
I love monopoly ❤ one of my all time favorite games. I used to collect different monopoly board versions. I have since stopped as they take up a lot of space and they aren’t cheap some of them. I play with my daughter sometimes but I can get very competitive while playing so I don’t get others who want to play with me 😭😂. I’m not a 3-D puzzle fan but I did love this video of you putting it together. Great job Karen 👏🏻👍🏻

Yes! Her name was Elizabeth Magie and she was very cool.
I’ve always felt like the whole game is determined by the first few dice rolls. That makes so much sense now.

What's fun is that the original game came with two sets of rules; the capitalist set, which closely resembles the modern Monopoly rules, and the anti-capitalist set, which allows any wealth that gets created to be shared equally among all players
Honestly, the word monopoly doesn't really have positive connotations in general so it's not surprising that the game can cause friction
Ah, well like every game on earth! Can't please everyone, and those who don't want to play have the option to just not play!
Always a great day when Karen uploads an almost 50 minute video for our enjoyment. Thanks.
I just have so much to say about puzzles 😅
Bro I was 59 minutes
@@KarenPuzzlesthese longer forms, I live for...so fun. Well done
I noticed that too :D
28:23 - hair.
This perfectly sums up why monopoly is a bad game.
@@camipco Wisdom has been chasing you but you have always been faster.
@@GuyWithTheDogs Feel like you're wasting a fancy line on a pretty uncontroversial "family games shouldn't make family members cry" take there, bud.
@@camipco I don't understand your specific kind of stupid, but I do admire your total commitment to it.
@@GuyWithTheDogs Did everyone clap?
My favorite monopoly is Disney monopoly. Me and my younger sister played for hours and hours as a kids. We threw out the crappy cards that make you go in debt super fast. We also bent the rules a bit because we competitive but also felt really bad when the other couldn't afford to visit a property. We learned that we were genuinely caring of each other and always had a great time playing to see who in the end could survive.
You were an early pioneer in the cooperative board games that have become popular now!
You’re not nitpicking, you’re ✨constructively critiquing✨a cultural artefact
I haven't played Monopoly in 40 years. I do like the idea of having a 3-d puzzle that can actually be used as a game board.
Yes please do a modern Puzz3D!
that seems really reasonable. Can't argue with that! 😄
I agree! Would love to see another non building one
“The time will pass anyway” is actually changing my entire view on life rn
It feels kinda stupid, but when you mentioned your sister doing 3D puzzles, I was kinda proud to think "Yes, I already knew that!" :D
Makes me realize, I've been watching your videos probably since 3 years
My brother in law and I used to play speed Monopoly. Our fastest time to complete an entire game was 25 minutes.
never knew THAT was possible...
it being so time consuming is why me and my friend would check out after an hour
They have a “speed” version, now. A third die gives you specific extra actions each turn; the average game takes about 45min and really speeds up the slow and painful loose all your money phase!
@@stephdyck6036 Exactly. I've been playing it that way since the 80s. Only with just the standard 2 dice.
Thank you for actually shaking and tossing the dice 😆😆 - that was very satisfying!
Agreed! I was so happy when she tossed the dice!
Why did they bother including dice in the play pieces if you have to make them?
Missed opportunity not calling it PUZZL3D.
If you play Monopoly by the rules, it’s a very fun game. It’s the house rules that make it never-ending and frustrating.
I've heard that! But I'll take your word for it because I'm not learning all of those rules 😂
Yeh just simply the auction mechanic alone halves or even thirds the overall game time
I would say it's a better game. Still not a fun game (especially where there are so many better games out there and easily accessible now)
If you play proper rules it's a lot less bad, but it's still the worst popular board game.
The main thing to realise is that the idea is not to earn money. The idea is to bankrupt your opponents.
Even by the rules, it can take forever to end…
38:44 those dices remind me of another puzzle where you get pieces structured similarly and you have to build a cube without instructions
I did that too. I spent a lot of time trying to make board games out of video games, like Donkey Kong and Frogger!
Puzz3D that’s based on Monopoly added to Katie’s archive? Sounds like a fun Sunday to me!
Unfortunately I don't think this one will be added to the main collection at my parent's house anytime soon, since the box is so big and unwieldy to travel with 😞
@@KarenPuzzles Oh no :(
I'm proud to announce that my 4 year old cousin can now build up to 200 piece puzzles with relative ease. I think he'll like it if I end up gifting him my old 500 piece puzzles in a few years.
Karen you’re spoiling us with this 50 minute video! And yes please compare the newer puzz3D
I think she did make a video about them, or at least a similar game.
I have one. And i could not solve it. Im still trap in the house till now. Help...
This puzzle is so adorable! I love the final result and you clearly had a lot of fun doing it!
4:57 there are still 3 pieces attached 😂😂😂
Love you Karen but it was literally right there 😂😂😂
That is puzzle is so cool and unique! I use to love playing monopoly growing up with my family. UNTIL.... my husband ruined it. LOL. He played more competitive and serious. so after a few years I finally said I will no longer play that game with him. LOL But I still loved playing with my kids. 😁
26:48 - I think you goofed on those Community Chests. The pattern should line up along the '3D-joints'.
This was super fun to watch 😊 I love your haircut mid/end of the video. It's super cute!
Hi karen, its so satisfying to see you put the puzzles together....
that complete sheet that you made (including the red dots) was so satisfying to see :)
Dear Karen, your diligence and patience are divine. ❤❤
Your deep dives have me hooked in like a fish!
11:30 - Clockise, from 'GO':
"Reading, Pennsylvania, B&O, Short Line" :)
"Dark Purple, Light Blue, Purple , Orange, Red, Green, Yellow, Blue"
3-D ❤ Love your short summer haircut! I quite enjoyed watching you solve the flat puzzle first. The foam piece ASMR was beautiful. Thank you!
Yes they are still being made in Canada 🙂 We've got lots for you to chose from and enjoy ☺
Would have been good if the player tokens had been puzzle pieces too! (Houses and hotels too)
Love the channel, keep up the good work!
Oh wow, seeing everything in its place (especially the Community Chests and the receptacles for the houses and hotels) was really satisfying!
It’s amazing to me you were able to put that together as a 2D puzzle!
I wonder what other concepts they brainstormed for how to make Monopoly 3D!
That's a great question!
I think the most amazing thing is that someone designed all the bits to be cut from one piece to then assemble this 3D puzzle. 😯
That's how every single one is made! A lot of thinking and designing goes into each 3D puzzle 🙂
A good, rousing game of Monopoly can be great fun, destroy friendships, and tear families apart. Play at your own risk. You have been warned.
Just when I sat down to have lunch, perfect timing!
I had no idea this existed! It blends my two favorite things!
5:19 I’m just not smart enough to play Monopoly but I am good at making my friends feel terrible that they don’t have good real estate
That sounds like you’d be great at monopoly.-.
Cute haircut! And great video, as always 😊
Librarians are no joke 😂😂😂
Karen, two things:
1) You have to get the 3,000 piece NYC Puzz 3-D and build it so it’s one massive sheet 😂
2) Have you considered ASMR videos with Puzz 3-D? The parts with no music and just the sound of the foam pieces was so tingly! ❤
1) If we remember correctly, it came in two bags, so two sheets. But still, it would be an impressive feat to achieve!
2) That snapping sound is indeed addictive! Keeps you puzzling for hours 😊
3D puzzles are fun, great
job with this setup! ☺️✌️
You pick the best music for your videos 😊 i love listening and watching
43:40 Karen: "I don't know how to play Monopoly."
Me, noticing (among other things) a hotel on Oriental Avenue, nothing on Vermont and two houses on Connecticut and also a hotel on Park Place and nothing on Boardwalk: "You don't say..." 😂
There’s 3d busts out here too I had a huge Homer Simpson one, the Tazmanian Devil and Gandalf from lord of the rings
I’d like to see a modern comparison
Modern puzzle comparison? Or are you talking about Monopoly itself?
When I was a kid, this puzzle was the only version of monopoly we had! Fun and functional!
28:23 As soon as she said, "Tomorrow" I KNEW it was going to be more than that! Cmon Karen! We know you better than that by now.
I think in present company I can safely and uncontroversially say that assembling this _Monopoly_ puzzle is almost certainly guaranteed to be more fun than *playing* _Monopoly_ XD
EDIT: 48:07 The puzzle on the bottom left is one I've assembled and have hanging on my wall... but it has _UNO_ cards at the bottom left corner rather than standard playing cards!
I thought it was so funny that you at first kind of complained that it is not very 3D, and then you actually proceed to make it even less 3D and just solved it completely flat! xD
So neat Karen thanks for another great video!! Love your haircut it really suits you so lovely.❤
I'm right there with you. I love Monopoly. It's a great game if people actually play the game correctly.
I can’t believe there’s not a scrabble one. That would be such a logical fit.
I had this set as a kid! It was a fun build.
The puzzle turned out amazing!
I loved the music you put in this one 💯
I think monopoly is a great board game if you play with house rules. I’m talking you can steal, free parking rule, you can make up your own cars so long as no one calls you out. My family has always played with these rules and we’ve had so much fun playing it. We do occasionally play the normal way too
Hi Karen, great video as usual. I played Monopoly a lot 60 years ago and enjoyed it greatly, even if it wasn’t 3D. ❤
Perfect type of puzzle functional displayable 3D and fun to play and make 🤩🤩🤩
I love monopoly ❤ one of my all time favorite games.
I forgot about Puzz3D! Those were fun to do as a kid. I remember there was an odd satisfaction handling the thick foam pieces
The same foam pieces satisfaction can be enjoyed as an adult 😜
9:43 - I'll be curious to see if they left in ALL the dot-pieces in the puzzle, since they seemingly) intend for them to be thrown away :(
