Hey Ben, my ISSA Raw and IISB Raw both show 0 but I have a code P07A3. Shoudl I still go ahead and remove the A actuator? Thanks so much for all your help!
Thanks for the videos!! I replaced the clutch and forks put it back together and get code P2872 also fails during clutch relearn with clutch travel error. I looked at the input shaft speeds on the computer while running in park and both a and b read zero RPM. Any ideas?
I have the same issue with codes that are saying both clutches are stuck engaged or on. With a code of PO6B8. It will not start unless I put it in neutral or back to park and it doesn't work all the time. And once it's running the car won't move when put into reverse or drive. I'm not sure if that's TCM related or not. Also doesn't matter how the mileage is on the vehicle for Ford to cover the TCM
Hi Ben I did exactly what you said with forscan and when I check the RPM it’s showing zero at idle with both actuators connected and when I take actuator motor B off from the transmission I am reading 800 rpm. My code is P07A5. I have also replaced both clutch forks and slave cylinder. It’s confusing that I read 0 RPM at idle but read 800 when I take off B off the transmission.
Hi! That doesn't make sense to me why that would be happening. Did the fork splines spin back at all when removing the actuator? Either way, with RPM showing with the actuator out, Somethings causing the clutch to drag inside the bell housing. but before digging in, maybe you can try swapping actuators top to bottom and see if for some weird reason that changes with it
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I didn't hear the fork spline spin back. Also i have already swapped the actuator motors. I remember dropping one of the clutch nuts when taking the transmission off and never found it i looked everywhere before assembling it. I wonder if tha some how got in there and is causing this :(
Hey Ben I got a 2018 ford forcus se automatic, my car shudders when coming off a red light, at times coming off a stop it doesn’t accelerate like if gear doesn’t catch I let go of gas and try a 2nd time and pray it catches witch most of the time it does, it doesn’t happen often but it does occur but I have no check engine light can I still go get it scanned.
The shudder may be just the clutch, but the loss of engagement is probably bad clutch actuators. I have a video on how to replace them. It's super easy. Get oem ones
Hello Ben Unfortunately I have been having a terrible week as my 2017 focus spat out a P07a4 code and gave me the red alert to fix engine now. I took the car to AutoZone and the man over the counter said the error was coming from Section B ( which would be the bottom ) and that the Transmission Clutch Actuator and the TCM's are on national back order and to call Ford. I was told by the dealer I would have to wait over a week for an appointment and would require I leave my car which puts me in a bad spot as I wont be able to make it to work. If I understand your video correctly I should remove the lower Actuator and start the car and add some gas (which in theory would unstuck the plates if it is the actuator). I would then shut off the car and install a new actuator for the bottom. If the problem persist I should remove both actuators and start the car. If the RPM's drop to zero it might be the TCM. IF they do not drop its something in the transmission. Please correct me if I made a mistake as I would rather risk purchasing a new oem actuator then paying over a thousand to have the dealer figure it out.
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Thanks Ben ! I am going to the dealership today to pick up an actuator. Unfortunately they only have one in stock but 1 is better than nothing. I will keep you posted

Hey Ben, little help I have a p2767 after replacing the clutch, shift forks and slave cylinder. I can not get It to go away. I’ve tried swapping TCMs, all 3 speed sensors on trans and a harness. Any help would be so much help
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I’ll try another harness I snagged at the junk yard. I’ve had 30 focuses in past 6 months for my used car lot and your videos have guided me the whole way Thank you
I unplugged actuator B and accidentally started the car with It unplugged. I plugged It Back in and now can’t get reverse. Do I need to do a relearn? The tranny was fine until I did this
Hey Ben, I did a clutch replacement with entire LUK kit. Never ran into this issue but now I’m having a p07a5 and I can’t get rid of It. I’ve tried swapping actuators with no luck. It will drive and then loose all engagement. Anyway this could be a internal transmisson issue?
I have a 2014 Ford Focus SE and it has been an ABSOLUTE DISASTER! Since I've briefly owned it, both clutches have been replaced, the TCM has been replaced and clutch B actuator has been replaced. The car has been acting up again, weird gear shifts and refusing to start sometimes--showing fault codes P0805 and P2872. Took it to the shop and they told me it's loose wires/connections, for which they charged me over $600 to "repair". Car was fine for a day or two, took the car out today and the exact same problems reappeared, with fault codes P0805 and P2872 appearing again. Could it now be the clutch A actuator that needs replaced? I am at my wit's end with this vehicle, the car is a friggin' nightmare.
Thanks for your reply Ben, guess I'll have to take it back to the shop and see if they can actually find out what's wrong with it THIS TIME. I now believe that the car is haunted....@@BigBensCarsAndCycles
@stevenbrown9678 sell it before it gets worse. I got my 2014 focus in 2015 with 7 miles and still have trans problems. prolly 20 different clutch replacements atleast. Had coolant problems, motor mounts, headliner falling from wind, wheel bearings, gas cap not pulling itself closed.
@@IWillDuckYou Unfortunately, I still owe 'bout $10,000 on the car plus the nearly $5,000 I've put into it trying to fix the transmission myself. It's been a total mechanical, financial and transport disaster for me. Hope you and yours are well---PEACE!
SOOO helpful! You are the best Ben.
Great, thanks Ben

Hi, with that code i would remove the A actuator and do a clutch fork test on clutch A ( the top one)

I'm glad it helped. With that code I would turn clutch A by hand and make sure everything feels OK. Maybe you left a shipping clip on the fork?

Hi, being a 2017 I don't think you need a tcm. You probably need just 2 new clutch actuators. I recommend oem actuators only

Hi. Nope, I'd follow the directions in this video
Both are zero on the live data. Not sure next step

@jarrodsutton3603 that code indicates a gear 2 synchro problem. Got any grinding noise?
Yes I do now. Had a customer leave my car lot in low gear red lining It

Plug it back up and clear codes with a scan tool
