It's refreshing and encouraging to see a young, popular singer...who can actually SING. She has a beautiful voice...truly a gift.
I agree. She’s a pure talent. And a true worker. Still doing the smaller shows. Still has the passion and the drive. But largely an undiscovered gem despite much critical acclaim. The fact that this show was NOT an instant sellout for a capacity (and eventual sellout) of 626 people is a crime. Her popularity is growing and deservingly so but the talent is not yet recognized by the larger masses.
Everyone was losing their shit over Celine Dion not being on the Rolling Stone top 200 Greatest singer list when the outrage should have been about Weyes Blood not being there. I bet in another 10 years Rolling Stone will update their list & Weyes Blood will definitely be there .
@@nickarndt4126 It's the popularity issue. If she made it on the list (as deserved), people would be up in arms saying "who??????" and saying Rolling Stone has lost touch with music culture or whatever. She's out there earning fans and wowing critics but not breaking through into the mass popularity to get onto such lists. I'm hoping you're right and her steady rise will get her her rightful place in music popularity in 10 years. Even if not, she's pretty legendary right now!

This is great but the lighting needs to be darker and the stage a blueish purple and then it would be perfect
I don’t know.. the minimalist approach while being blanketed by those sounds was pretty darn powerful. Those flickering lanterns seemed just right. But being there 6 feet away and watching a video are very different things.

Edit: Went to her show and man...I didnt cry but there was an atmosphere once she started humming. No cheering, barely anyone recording. It was just her singing that lullaby. The song wrapped you up like a warm blanket and didnt let go till its end. Phenomenal woman with amazing vocals!
