Thus saith the lord!
Prince of Egypt has always been a really powerful movie with amazing songs. This started at first as Alex testing his self-choir abilities before he realized "wait... we have a whole crew."

I never thought I would see Moses look like an anime protag
What is the Bible but a Christian graphic novel?
@@EliJ0nes1998 LMAO💀
Anime? You should see the version with yugioh clips of ancient Egypt. Gave me chills!
@@EliJ0nes1998That exist. There’s a Bible manga
@EliJ0nes1988
There is such thing as the Action Bible
I honestly never would have thought he would do The Prince Of Egypt. One of the greatest animated films of all time.
I agree
@@keidrienmccollum3476 same
It's funny how it's a better christian movie that most "christian" movies US fanatics produce
@@laytonjr6601 it's because it takes a VERY skilled team to make a Christian movie that's both entertaining and tells the story or message their trying to give.
Absolutely agreed.
What i espeically love is how Ramses is always in the palace, showing his stubborness to connect with the poor and insistence on keeping traditions, while Moses stands in the villages, showing how hes connected to the people and trying to get ramses to do the same. Not jsut that, but their fathers monument between them, showing how their fathers actions eventually caused the conflict.
I am not a religious person at all. Neither is my family. But this song, from that very animated movie and now from this very cover, has me always in awe and tears. It touches me so. And makes me want to sing along the chorus.
Not even Disney managed to make me that emotional with their music in their long standing history...
Never...
As a religious person, yeah it is kinda hard finding a good religious show that doesn't shove it down people's throats (especially if it's animated)
You should watch the whole film, it's incredible
There's Joseph King of Dreams, and then there's Prince of Egypt. The second one hits me more than the first, even though both movies are amazing and made by the same studio
@@enigmatic2878 Hoo boy, boy howdy and HOW, is there some buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullllllllllllllshit. Seen some of Saberspark's reviews? THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST SONG FOR A SUNDAY MORNING EVER! Darby, you are a king when it comes to strong booming voices. Splendid work as always!
Agreed
AMEN to that!
Thank you so much! Alex totally nailed it with Rameses too! The chorus is fantastic here. I am so proud of our mixers and artist on this one too. Everyone really gave it their all.
@@DarbyCupit You think it'd be possible to do a skit of this like you did with A Midsummer Night's Dream?
yknow, i’ve always thought one of the things MOTI excels at best is spine-chilling chorus numbers. this is an absolutely perfect fit for a song cover for this channel and it’s been a long time coming honestly.
alex and darby are absolutely BRILLIANT at singing their parts, their voices so powerful and clear as always. that chorus has hit its PEAK spine-chilling energy as is typical with this song but MAN the typical MOTI flare adds a LOT to an already gorgeous and beloved song
That’s a great way to hear our chorus described! Thank you, Anatthema. ^^
Pure, powerful, exquisite, and glorious shivers run through my body as I listened to this!
I thought the original and Caleb hayles cover was powerful exquisite and glorious
@@williamjohnson9054 So far, I think all covers of this song are powerful, exquisite, and glorious.
This is one favorite song from the prince of Egypt. Alex and Darby singing give me shivers through my body.
It gave me only tiny shivers. And their singing was so perfect that I can imagine myself in Egypt during that time.
I saw the notification’s song title and my heart skipped a beat. Prince of Egypt’s phenomenal soundtrack already sets quite a high standard when it comes to covers, especially for a song such as The Plagues. (The only other cover of this song that matches/even comes close to this would be Caleb Hyles and Jonathan Young.)
This is certainly not the easiest song from the OST to cover, though I knew that MOTI could surely pull this song off, being well-equipped with the power of a truly sweeping chorus performance that has proven its strength countless times before. But daaaaamn… This is absolutely chilling! …In more ways than one. The chorus immediately came in so strong and I KNEW that this cover would be perfect. Alex and Darby have always provided such wonderful, powerful vocals that I knew the roles of Moses and Rameses were already in the best of hands.
This is that special brand of cover that fans dream of having more of. Hats off to MOTI yet again. You absolutely nailed it with this already stellar song!
This is (if I remember correctly) the only Christian movie to go mainstream. Also fun fact: In the Bible it's suggested that Moses had a speech impediment.
Dreamworks (the people who made Prince of Egypt) also did Joseph: King of Dreams!
Both are great.
That also.a good movies
What do you mean a christian movie ????????
@@Bilbiotheque Bible
There are many mainstream Christian movies, this isn't even the most popular.
IMMEDIATELY ARRIVED AS SOON AS THE NOTIF POPPED UP- The Plagues is such a deep song that people can’t help but be entranced, and this version is no different!
Oh my God! As a Christian who watched Prince of Egypt since i was young, i almost like this cover than the original. The voices of Moses and Rameses don't sound a smidge different but are so much more powerful here! Especially with the chorus! Spectacular job!
Your voices literally fit Disney perfectly. Splendid job, Darby, Alex and everyone!
Isn't Prince of Egypt a DreamWorks property?
@@dorkasdaydreams Damn, it is. I didn't even know that. Curse you, prejudice. Nontheless, this channel is amazing.
@@Sheamuscz I second that last statement. MOTI is GOOD. :)
Teamwork makes the Dreamworks! 😄
Disney literally did not have the courage to make Prince of Egypt, which is why Katzenberg made it Dreamworks' debut film. It was his declaration of war against Disney as a studio.
When i hear the word “thus saith the lord” my heart felted as if god is with me between my shoulder
Great cover , as usual .
"I shall humilliate the gods of Egypt ."
Boy , did He do it .
I would love this tailored to Mario vs Mr. L where Mario pleads with Dimentio to release his hold on Luigi. "Let My Brother Go!"
this made my top 3:
1. Caleb Hyles and Jonathan Young
2. Man on the internet
3. Samuel Kim
Okay, the chorus is so identical to the movie I legitimately thought it was ripped straight from it until I remembered that the crew has high standards for themselves and would obviously create their own. Nonetheless, the fact I couldn't tell the difference is a Testament to quality.
ha
testament
I'M GONNA SCREAM YOU GUYS DID SUCH A FANTASTIC JOB WITH THIS OMG AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Seriously this was amazing and I knew you'd do it justice anyway but you blew my expectations out of the water!
1:31 dude the absolute power in this part
Oh GOOD, the under appreciated masterpiece appears in my recommended once again, but as a cover this time. And it sounds wonderful! And the art is top notch as well. Great work!
I agree “enemy of the crusaders”.
Man I wish this could have gone on longer, its a great song but it is basically the choris introduction, moses verse, ramses verse and the ending. Id kill to see a longer version. I mean this in general not of only MOTI in specific.
Damn you Alex. I’ve had “I send the Swarm, I send the Hoard!” Stuck in my head for two days now
I can absolutely relate to having MOTI’s lyrics stuck in my head for days at a time.
“Build them up. Break them down. No one puts the fire out!” from the Groudon vs Kyogre song hasn’t really left my mind since it released. And that’s just one example from one MOI song…
@@CTSael “we will rise! Brothers hand-in-hand! We shall never fall! And here we stand!”
We need a future Disney or Dreamworks film with both Alex Beckham and Jonathan Young as the major villains. I shudder to think what that combination would bring about…
Cover is fantastic as always, but DAMN, that’s some killer artwork of Moses and Ramses there.
That’s Kikyo for you. Her art is always such a delight to see for MOTI covers, and even better when it’s the cast wearing their roles’ costumes. It just makes the lyrical cover feel that much more like an actual stage production, imagining the singers performing firsthand for their audience. I’d absolutely buy tickets to see Alex, Darby and everyone else in the cast singing their hearts out on stage.
(I really went off on a bit of a tangent there, didn’t I?)
Yeah...it really brings out the mood of the song doesn't?
God this song from Prince of Egypt was my favorite listening from a long while ago. And this cover was a straight banger! Alex and Darby nailing it!
Darby literally becoming Moses when he goes all out with that belt 🔥 PART THE SEA WITH YOUR SINGING SIR 🙇🏻
Alex Beckham should voice a DreamWorks villain!
They have yet to invent words that describe just how amazing this version of the song is!!! I’ve loved this movie since I was 6 years old, and oh my God, you guys did an AMAZING job!!!! A true work of art!!!! 200000000/10!!!!! Chef’s kiss!!
You have no idea how old this makes me feel LOL. Brings back memories of me watching this at 13. Only thing that would be more nostalgic would be something from VeggieTales. (Pirates who don't do anything?)

Nailed it! Everyone was amazing! Especially Alex and Darby their voices are really fitting for these characters.
The Plagues show God's most frightening aspect: if you're not with him, you're going through the worst IMAGINABLE things before you either die or give in to His words.
Woah, this is simply gorgeous! You guys have such mighty and strong voices; it’s clear that God has blessed you with great talent. This cover is beautiful, and perfectly fitting for this Sunday morning!
The chorus in your songs is always so gooood gosh, also love the Alex Darby combo, great job guys
This is one of my favorite songs, thank you so much for this amazing remix! It sounds amazing!
Alex... gave Ramses Mettatton's voice and I'm here for it
Damn! That was powerful. I honestly got *chills* from that. Great work, guys.
Absolutely amazing! Really captured the majesty and tragedy of this epic song!
This is perhaps my favorite cover from you guys, the vocal work here is amazing, it legit sounds just like the movie, if not better. Great work!
What a gorgeous harmony at the end. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the song, but I got chills at the harmony at the end.
Finally! It’s about time this masterpiece got covered by you guys, and what a cover it is
This is sending chills down my spine.....jeez
I just find it funny how one of the messages of the greatest religious movie of all time is don't take religion TOO seriously, a big part of why Pharaoh was building all these monuments on the backs of slaves was to please Ra after all.
When I watched the plagues scene for the first time (technically my second time but my first time watching through The Prince of Egypt) it's a very powerful scene for both Moses and Rameses.
If anyone didn't know but the plagues of Egypt tried to prove that the God of Israel was the one true God and not the Egyptian gods (like plague nine The Plague of Darkness contrasting Ra the Egyptian God of the Sun) but like Rameses said "let my heart be hardened" shows that he doesn't want to listen to Moses
That's God with a capital "G". That rule applies to everyone not just Christians
De niño nos hicieron ver una de las mejores peliculas para aprender sobre Egipto y su mitológia, que gran regalo.

Wow! This was such an amazing and intense cover for my #1 favorite song from "The Prince of Egypt". Well done!
This song made me watch this movie for the first time since 3rd grade. I just finished and all I can say is this movie was amazing. The two best parts were the characters, especially Ramses who was such and interesting and developed antagonist. Secondly this movie is gorgeous. The animation and cinematography were stunning. I would say it's good for it's time, but it's even good by modern standards.
I have listened to this song so many times.
Same
I would never expect yall to do a cover of "The Plagues" lol
This is amazing
I'm not religious, but man this movie is on a whole other LEVEL. Its soundtrack, and just everything about it *chefs kiss* beautiful
Ok but can we take a moment to appreciate the artwork?? Especially the first drawing, it looks just... Absolutely fantastic!
But also it was kinda weird to hear different voices for a song that I've listened to so many times, but it was a good weird! I liked it :)
*LET MY PEOPLE GO!!!!*
Okay but the chorus slaps way too hard in this 😭💖
An incredible cover by incredible people. Absolutely amazing. Props to you all and your wonderful cover. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Nice
The Plagues is an iconic song in the movie! When my family watched it, Ethan was Moses, and I was the Pharaoh during the song. The OG is good, but this might be a contender!
I’m stunned! The voices are so strong, the lyrics are powerful! This gave me mad chills.😍
