    For the manufacturer, when you said : "go directly to this route." Did you mean that as a new person to with manufacturera in the US or China?

    • @TheLittlePaintCreative
      @TheLittlePaintCreative  3 года назад +4

      For total beginners, I definitely recommend going directly to a US manufacturer. Mostly just for your own peace of mind. It can be a bit difficult to get used to language barriers when emailing Chinese Manufacturers and it's a bigger risk overall. Most of the time you have to keep testing factories until you find a great one. Starting out with a US-based company gives you the flexibility to start learning the process and their quality is great from the start. Hope that helps to clarify it a bit more. Do let me know if you have any other questions. :)

    Great video, thank you! I recently had hard enamel pins made, not directly through manufacturer, but through a company that functioned as a middleman. Out of 250 pins, about 40 had dents, scratches, etc... Have to reorder. Is this typical to have to reorder remakes at this high number? Am I expected to pay for the remakes, or is this considered part of the cost of doing business when it comes to manufacturers?

    Hi I know this video is old but I really want to know how to sell designs for pin makers to use?

    • @TheLittlePaintCreative
      @TheLittlePaintCreative  2 года назад +5

      Right, it's been a little while haha Thank you so much for your comment. I honestly think that the best way for you to start to sell your design is to start researching pin makers you would like to work with. Maybe spend some time looking over what creators you might like to work with and maybe reach out to them. I know it can be really daunting to just message random people but if you find creators that don't make their own designs and you notice they use different artists, they might be open to bringing in a new one. Most of the time, I've noticed a lot of fantasy pinmakers using commissioned artworks. Hope it helps, please let me know if you have any other questions.

    just wondering, when ordering backers from print dirt cheap, what options did you select. I'm trying to find a reliable print source for some square backers but I'm only seeing standard business card sizes.

      No you don’t really need to

    • @TheLittlePaintCreative
      @TheLittlePaintCreative  2 года назад +7

      Like Dead Pup mentioned, you don't need to. These are fan-made for fans. However, you cannot legally sell them as wholesale pins and you are risking receiving a cease and desist letter. Every pin maker/artist that creates fan-made pins risk this. But this is also true with regular fan art.

    Hi. Do we have to pay seperate fee for the mold when ordering pins from alibaba?

    • @TheLittlePaintCreative
      @TheLittlePaintCreative  3 года назад +2

      Hi Jenny, that's an awesome question. Usually, they will include the mold fee with the overall cost they give you. Once you get that from the vendor it should also tell you how it is broken down and you will be able to see how much it is per mold. Hope it helps, do let me know if have any other questions to get you started. It's so much fun to have them made!

      @@CyberSonic157 Copyright laws are pretty much non-existent in China, so you can have such images produced, but I don't think you can sell them in "western" online stores that do have to abide to those laws.

    Hello! Im from the philippines and i’ve been having a hard time looking for legit manufacturers on alibaba. Tho i’ve talked to some of them, i’d like to know which factories would you recommend? If your dm’s are open maybe i could message you somewhere else to discuss about it. Thank youuuu! I enjoyed this video a lot.

    • @TheLittlePaintCreative
      @TheLittlePaintCreative  2 года назад +2

      Most of the time, it really comes to trial and error. Make sure to ask lots of questions when it comes to production and compare their responses. Also, if the price seems too good to be true, usually is. There are lots of factories now in IG too. Definitely recommend doing some research there as well.
