Dawn, I want to thank you for your videos. I'm recently retired, and you have inspired me to start doing short day hikes again. In the area where I live (southern N.H.)we have numerous land grants that are open to the public. Most have few or no trails, so I do alot of bushwacking. Which is fine for me. With the exception of my knees when I do a lot of off angle hiking. I also have been scoping out a river with the intent of wade fishing in the hot summer months to come. Anyway, Thank You again. ❤ 👍
What a kind and generous thing to say! This makes me so happy. Bushwhacking is great, but it can be a lot of physical and mental work. Have you ever looked at the AllTrails app? It's free, and you can download it to your phone or use it on your computer. (alltrails.com) It will give you loads of options for those days when you want to go for a walk but don't feel like bushwhacking. I made a video about how to choose a trail, and I cover the AllTrails app in the first 4 minutes of the video. You can find it here: ruclips.net/video/74UmTX7_6ek/видео.html Best of luck and happy hiking!
That's a neat hat, a way to cover the ears when the temps drop is always good , I usually carry a stocking cap and wear a ball cap , that hat covers both. Neat little thermometer 🌡 I could see that handy Youtubing people always like to get temperature readings. Layering is definitely great idea, my mistake or the issue I have is sweating to much from hard working and then stopping and getting cold , I'm starting to getting better at slowing down of remembering to shed layers lol. Great trail system there and getting new trails added great , giving people options. Nice spot for break by the lake, warm cup of tea always great especially in the woods. Wetland brown that's a interesting name for a colour , I like it lol. Got a couple of gifts that I've got to try new Butane stove and a little kneeling pad for kneeling or sitting on the hikes term ma rest brand. Thanks for taking us along hope you have an awesome week.
It took me a long time to learn to stop and shed a layer as soon as I start feeling a little too warm. The sweat is the killer! Can't wait to see the new stove and the sit pad in your videos. The pads are lightweight and so handy. Nothing worse than getting a wet butt! Have a great week, and thanks for watching!
Morning Dawn. There are great tips in this video. My go-to is definitely my hat down over my ears. I'm usually not dressed warm when in the woods only because I'm working. But the trip in and out gets cold. Good to be prepared.
Love the thermometer .. what a great idea!
It's definitely not a necessity, but really fun to have!

It’s all about the right layers. And if you’re moving, you stay toasty.
Also need to keep in mind that if it gets too warm and you sweat, you get wet and then it can be dangerous to cool off fast. It's good to stay dry! :)
Sweat is the killer! Nothing worse than being wet and cold.
@ yup!
