- Footage from the Corgi toy car production line, Swansea 1960. The Corgi range was launched in 1956, the name coming from the Welsh breed of dog.
At this time Wales had a thriving toy industry with Triang, Louis Marx and many others in full swing. People had more money in the sixties and buying toys for children became a mass market not just for the wealthy.
The Corgi Swansea factory was finally closed in 1991, when Corgi moved to Mattel's UK headquarters in Leicester.
Dyma ffactri tegannau Corgi yn Abertawe yn 1960. Lawnswyd tegannau Corgi yn 1956, wedi ei enwi ar ol y ci cymreig wrth gwrs. Ar y pryd roedd gan Gymru ddiwydaint tegannau ffynniannus iawn, roedd cwmniau fel Triang a Louis Marx yn brysur gan fod gan bobol fwy o arian sbar yn ei pocedi erbyn y chwedegau ac roedd prynu anhregion i blant wedi dod yn beth llawer mwy cyffredin.
