- In this video, we’re going to dive deep into the qualities of these video models, and see multiple reasons why Art with a capital A is safe from them. Lastly I’ll dabble into trying to predict how these models are going to pan out in the future.

5:55 I think this is what kinda killed my interest in AI art and lol, as crazy as it sounds I recently began to feel nostalgic about Midjourney v3 and v4 results as despite them being utterly flawed they had something interesting in them and made me feel like "Hey, I could do a drawing based on this". The AI generated stuff I've seen over this year usually just feels either too perfect, too polished, over the top rendered and maybe just too commercial looking. Like, don't get me wrong, it looks realistic and convincing to the point sometimes I can't tell it's AI but along the way it lost something that made it actually fun to use as a conceptualizing/brainstorming tool. It just feels like seeing an artist kid who had potential and a style going for them but eventually went to work on some mainstream AAA games on Hollywood blockbusters, sacrificing his personality for the mass-appealing commercial look. (And even when you try it to replicate a style it just somehow always "generalizes" the style and loses its quirks).
I appreciate your informed and thoughtful ponderings on the strange weaving of human creativity into pseudo reality that seems crushing in its weight, but only on the internet. This goes right along with the mental health epidemic we read about and experience by disconnecting with tangible relationships in nature and in person.
Very interesting link to make. Maybe that's just the general direction of humanity, or maybe we'll bounce back from it.
The fool who persists in his folly will become wise.
It may get better over time, but that AI video just looks really creepy.
Completely. Based on what we've seen with text and image models (and even sound now), we can assume it's going to get better but still have its look that people will get better at spotting, and artists will get better at exterminating from their own art.
Isn't all that bound to change?
Which part ?
im a graphic design major so im around a lot of artists almost 24/7 and i feel like about 70% of them still hate AI
Interesting !! Thanks :)
