Beautiful!! Kudos to your family who put up with your toys! As a child in 1950, my family had Lionel steam locomotive that belched smoke when a special white tablet was inserted in the stack. My dad only set it up on special occassions. What a treat!
I´m 54 years old and when I was a kid, I never had a Lionel miniature electric train; but I had a Trian-g (I´m not sure if I wrote correctly the trademark) one. It was very elaborated too. What a nostalgic moment for me! Thanks for share this video. Greetings from Venezuela.
my grandpa used to have a whole room in his house where he had a whole huge model train set, where me and him would just go for hours, but he took it all down and packed it way a few years ago, and watching this video braought back so many great memories
I just cannot undrstand the (so many) dislikes in this video. Generally, if someone doesn't like train models ,can simply avoid watching. It is absolutely meaningless to watch this video and then.... dislike it. About this video in particular....the man has a small place.....still has done a beautiful work!!!
Man! We found your page while getting our small kids excited about their first Liberty of the Seas but then when we found your train videos...wow! My son is in love and chooses these over Netflix shows! Thanks for making fun videos!
We all know the best train is the Pere Marquette 1225, class "N-1" 2-8-4 "Berkshire" type steam locomotive built in October 1941 for the Pere Marquette Railway by Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio.
You have to love LGB!-a carpet is all the ballast you need! The day after Thanksgiving every year my son and I go hiking: if it's raining we bring the trains up and do exactly what you are doing in this video.
Very cool!! One shot that I, and others, find mesmerizing, and you almost have it, is when two trains are running on tracks that are next to each other with slightly varying curves. This layout would work as it is if only the trains would be running side by side in the same direction or opposite directions. As the cars are doing their 'train thing' it's awesome to see them snaking around next to each other. You almost have it on your pinned video here--all you would need to get that effect is have the trains passing each other and/or running side by side but shoot it from above to catch the snaking effect :-) I had this going on with a beautiful and complex Marklin z gauge at a children's center and groups of adults and kids would often be standing in silence as the trains glided around doing this = just like heaven...
Wow awesome set-up if you leave alone hehe...well if you have people around or even kids they might step on the trains and act as big giants ready to destroy your trains LOL!
I watched this iconic video when I was 3 or 4 years old! I searched for this video for a long time and finally found! This is a very cool movie 😎👍 Best regards 👋
Nothing wrong with this ! (Did it also, many years ago ! ) LOL...gotta love, 1:02 when it creeps around the corner..The pet bowl..Bet that really makes them eat fast ! Nice job.. enjoy !
My son is probably responsible for at least 1k of these views! He is 3 and he is enthralled with this video and all things trains. Thanks for providing a video that has brought him so much joy!
The title of the video is "Every One Of My Model Trains Appears In This Video" and "appears" is the key word. Not all the trains run in the video, but they all appear at some point. The Porter appears a couple of times, but it doesn't actually run in the video. Since the LGB model of the Porter doesn't have any built-in sound effects, I don't think of it as a particularly exciting model train... so, I don't run it in very many videos. Usually if it's in a video, it plays a background role. But it did have larger roles in a couple of videos over the years.
Ya Know Jim if you Look Up LGB motorized tender with sound it’s for small steam engines like the porter you can run the porter with sound the tender will make a chugging sound when powered 🆙
My trains ate up 80% of my bedroom space at one time but it was sure was fun for the year I had the layout. Nice variety of trains you have there as well.
+Matthew Pugh It was probably from Trainworld.com They have pretty decent pricing on stuff like that, and if you wait until the next federal holiday, they usually offer a special holiday discount. Labor day, memorial day, 4th of July, etc.
Jim Zimmerlin holy moly dude! your thread had more BS chinese/asian spam than ive ever seen on one persons thread. somehow you are like a magnet for that crap. im about ready to mute this thread.
Jim Zimmerlin could you please do a review of the white pass and Yukon route diesel because it was the railroad that made my interest in trains become a obsession when I was three years old and I recently went to ride the white pass and Yukon route
Thank you for this video! My almost 2 year old daughter loves watching this multiple times a day. She asks to see the 'Choo Choo' and gets upset if I make her turn it off. Her favorite train is the Steam Engine. Maybe consider making another video of your model trains featuring an appearance of your dog. She saw the crate and water bowl and kept looking for the 'woof woof'.
Oh, so you're responsible for about a million of the six million views! ha ha ha The dog actually does make a special appearance at the very end of another one of my train videos: ruclips.net/video/yoxy-g0X_YM/видео.html
Here’s the list of trains that are in this video. It consists of a white pass diesel #107, a Santa Fe super chief diesel #202, a Santa Fe mogul piko 38212 #707 and a small porter 0-4-0 steam locomotive #3
I think was somewhere around $10,000 for all the model train equipment involved in this video. I actually acquired even more in the years since. If you look though some of the other model train videos on my channel, you'll find some huge outdoor layouts involving even more cost than this one. It was all bought with the ad revenue from my RUclips videos.
It would be very rare for a kid to have $15,000 worth of model trains to play with. Almost always when you see a big collection of G scale model trains like this, the person running them is a retired boomer who has saved and invested well over the years. So, that's why it's wife, not mother.
Hey Jim, I really love your LGB layout and also your lokomotives and waggons. Im just really impressed that a LGB video could reach more than 30 million views, this is really really impressive. I wish you good luck for christmas (your presents) and just stay how you are. LG Philipp (LGB SCHMALSPURBAHNER)
Yes, all of my trains have DCC built in, and I control them with a DCC power system. The main advantage is that I have individual control of each train that way, all from one controller. They can even be controlled from a tablet or smartphone.
This is amazing! It shows what you can do with a little imagination and the right attitude! I've seen your videos before but just realized you're only an hour away from me. Looking forward to what comes next.
How did you wire it up to for all trains to work in-dependably. a similar setup but only have two switchers. Can you help me out with steps on how to duplicate your setup connections for mine, and let me know what I would need to add to get it working?
+Louie Rodriguez To be able to control the trains independently, you have to have DCC (Digital Command Control). Each of the trains has to be set up for DCC and the control system does, too. In other words, it does not operate on an analog system like trains used to in the old days. With an analog system, you vary the amount of voltage that is sent out to the tracks. The higher you turn up the voltage, the faster the trains go. If you have two or more trains on the track, when you turn up the voltage, they both go faster. That's the analog control system that has been used for model trains since the beginning of model trains. With a DCC system. There is a constant voltage running through the tracks at all times, even when the trains are stopped. Digital signals are sent mixed in with the power on the track, and those digital signals are decoded by the trains and that's what tells the train to speed up, slow down, blow the horn, turn on the lights, etc. If you have older trains, it may be possible to add a DCC decoder to your locomotives. Since I'm fairly new to the game, I just was careful to make sure that every locomotive I purchased already had DCC installed.

That settles it! I’m getting my nephew a model train set for Christmas. But since he’s 3, it’ll have to be one that’s designed for little kids who tend to... ya know.... break stuff.
If you like this video, another one of mine that you might like is ruclips.net/video/FESpCJBPY18/видео.html
Thanks for letting me know, Armando!
Jim Zimmerlin y so many views?

When the train go around the house it's amazing
I love you Jim, you bring out the kid in me.
Great video, and great trains! Marvelous how the carpet manages to deaden the extrinsic sound.
love your track builds
We all know the best train is the Pere Marquette 1225, class "N-1" 2-8-4 "Berkshire" type steam locomotive built in October 1941 for the Pere Marquette Railway by Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio.

Wow awesome set-up if you leave alone hehe...well if you have people around or even kids they might step on the trains and act as big giants ready to destroy your trains LOL!
As a child, i can confirm this is my dream XD

That was the best train video🤩🤩
O.O yeaaa i can see an adult doing this without a kid, kids ruin the fun for some reason lol, looks awesome
Hey Jim It me agin I want to say in you video named “every model train will show up in this video” I never saw the porter steam train running

I LIKE THE STEAM ENGINE WITH THE RED CABOOSE . GREAT SOUNDING HORN ! ! ! WELL DONE.

To see an even more elaborate LGB train layout I set up inside my house, take a look at ruclips.net/video/MMVZxWKB-Ls/видео.html
+Jim Zimmerlin Where did you get the White Pass & Yukon RR Diesel??
+Matthew Pugh
It was probably from Trainworld.com They have pretty decent pricing on stuff like that, and if you wait until the next federal holiday, they usually offer a special holiday discount. Labor day, memorial day, 4th of July, etc.
you need to put some lil toy cars, ppl and cows on those tracks to make it more realistic. lol

That's a very nice collection, it'll make an amazing garden railroad.
Wow trains everywhere in the house! Awesome!
Awesomeness

that's excellent. now my biggest question is how is your wife reacting to all the tracks all over the house ..
My granddaughter and I loved it. Thank you.
They're all over the house because they are it's a train yard
Wife? Or mother?
It would be very rare for a kid to have $15,000 worth of model trains to play with. Almost always when you see a big collection of G scale model trains like this, the person running them is a retired boomer who has saved and invested well over the years. So, that's why it's wife, not mother.

That is sooooo cooool!!! You are lucky to have a wife that will let you do this.
That is beyond cool - I want one!
Very nice trains. Realistic sounds. I'm guess they are DCC? I think that's the term.
Yes, all of my trains have DCC built in, and I control them with a DCC power system. The main advantage is that I have individual control of each train that way, all from one controller. They can even be controlled from a tablet or smartphone.
When the weather outside is frightful;..then bring the train inside...!
I can’t stop watching your vids
I really like your model train collection! 😀
The best thing about these locomotives is their sound and horn, pretty realistic, This won't be cheap anyway i want :D
The Santa Fe sounds like a UFO sound based
Very nice. I've had HO scale, but I like the larger scale trains as well.
Ohh Im Amazing Train In House 😺😺😺
Nice collection and cool video...
Thanks, Moses...
Do you own any Hornby trains and/or tracks?
No, I don't own any Hornby trains. That's a UK brand, and I'm in the USA.
@@JimZim Oh sorry, didn't consider that bit Lol
I like the ALCO. It reminds me of the old MLW RS 18s that BC Rail used to field back in the 1970s and 1980s.
I like it😎
Hi
This is amazing! It shows what you can do with a little imagination and the right attitude! I've seen your videos before but just realized you're only an hour away from me. Looking forward to what comes next.

Very very nice video. Your steam engine train is very attractive. Thanks

I will give this video a 10 out of 10 good work. keep up the awesome work!!!!!
AWESOME!!!!! Thank you for sharing and there is always room for trains. Keep up the good work.
Wow, so i'm not the only adult with a little kid inside!

I used to watch this when i was little, good times.
