Back during spring 2020 Covid lockdown we projected this video on a wall in our company area, next to the arms room. We got the barricades from range maintenance and had guys come in their range gear to dry practice the qual. We made them use their assigned M4/M4 w/ M320/M249. The squads came in on a staggered schedule for covid mitigation. Our battalion commander loved it and talked us up at battalion and brigade meetings! Thanks for the video! We make our Infantry guys shoot the first 50m target from standing, then dive into the prone, like on a patrol. Always return fire immediately.
Thanks for sharing! Highly encourage Soldiers to practice dry fires, manipulations and magazine changes before firing the first shot. Thank you for this video!
Good video! Shared! I applaud changes, this is step into the right direction, it is more realistic training. However, I want to see ranges and targets maintained so they actually work...
See response to your other comment. I thought it would be better to have this question as a top level thread. Thank you for commenting and watching the video.
No problem, glad to hear that it was helpful and that you signed up as an infantryman. I have been one for the past 12 years and so is the guy who did the voice over.
FYI that first 50 is standing then you drop to prone unsupported. Also, it should go without stating BUT, they watch your safety manipulation like hawks (at least for infantry.)
I never served but, I just wanted to say to all those in the Military of the United States of America 🇺🇸 thank you 🙏 Guy’s and Gail’s with all my Heart for your Service and Sacrifice, May God almighty bless you and your families . Thank You 🙏🇺🇸👍.
Did this actually get adopted? The last update I saw was 2006 and they only had three presentations of 300m targets. This new one has five if I counted correctly. Soldiers will actually have to hit at least on 300m target to qualify as expert, and also have to shoot standing/barricade. That's quite a change.
The qualification is the same no matter what sighting system is used. The ACOG (not RCO - Rifle Combat Optic), CCO- Close Combat Optic (M68 made by Aimpoint), and Iron Sights are all authorized to my understanding and will be the most common Optics used by Soldiers. The qualification doesn't change because of the sighting system used.
The hardest part is going to be people getting the magazine changes. An RCO makes it easier, but getting the mag changes is the hardest part. I should be releasing some videos on that soon.
It will be qualifying with your assigned optic. Most people would prefer to shoot this qualification with an ACOG, but there are not enough for every Soldier to have one. This qualification is still possible with Iron sights or the M68 (CCO).
Are you sure. I'm seriously planning on going to sniper school at Fort Benning. In order to qualify I need to hit expert at least. I'm seriously worried that even if I go to the range and only use iron sights for the next 4 months it still won't be enough. I just want to know am I over doing it, or will I be prepared.
I feel like I could hit 40/40 if I had anything but irons. Idk how people like irons @100m ur irons completely cover your target and you can’t see where impact would be because they are so big. Now if the irons were thin like paper I could hit anything. I think this test should be the prone-10s then knelt down no support-10s then stand up with support-5s then 5s no support this will show marksmanship
Didn't get my Expert until my first qual in Germany. Got Sharp in basic then in ait. Basic was 2002, this shits a little different now. Looks like it dosent dosent have 300M? (Unless I missed it)
This is so sad, way to much time on each target and I don’t see any real distance engagement. Hopefully the entire Military will adopt the new 6.8/.338 cal and finally drop the Poodleshooter over the next decade. Each member of our Military is supposed to be a Rifleman 1st. Period! Of course a Rifleman needs a proper Rifle to begin with and we’ve not had one since the Poodleshooter was forced onto us by Macnamara in the Johnson era. I entered the Military in ‘79 and was fortunate enough to be noticed by those who mattered and spent my years as a DDM carrying .30cal Rifles. Hopefully this PC crap will pass quickly and we will get back to what Military Mission is supposed to be which is Killing the enemy and destroying his world.

That is the type of training I hoped people would use it for. I'm glad that it helped.
I leave for Fort Benning in a few days. This video helped me prepare and gave me knowledge for the road ahead. Thank you!
You are welcome and I am glad that you found it helpful.
Did this help you on the qualification range itself? Thanks
If not mistaken the first shot is standing unsupported and then immediately assume the prone unsupported for the other 9 rounds ?

Thank you for your comment and sharing the video. You don't want to see what the close up shots of the crazy Ivans looked like.....
Circle Dog Productions 🇺🇸What Optic is used for their qual? ACOG, AimPoint, or iron sights.

Circle Dog Productions 🇺🇸Thank you for providing the information brother. I signed up last week as 11b. So this is great info. Thank you kindly.

This qual format is a blast to perform.
My husband got expert earlier today during his weapons qualification thank you for giving details on this.
I'm glad it helped
I shot 40/40 during Basic back in 2015. Pretty cool stuff!

It's a good qual and actually fun as long as your lanes aren't all hosed up like most of the ones I've been on.
Excellent informative video. Thanks for the upload!
Just took it this weekend and got 25/40 😀🔫
Great video!
I hit 39 out of 40 and became an EXPERT in 1989. I was in the ARMY
This looks so much easier than the brm we did in the early half of of the 2000's
Yeah I did my first one in 2002. This is a little different.

Yes. Shooting it today 🇺🇲

Circle Dog Productions 🇺🇸I see. So one has the option of choosing? Personally I believe I’d ace it with the ACOG.
The hardest part is going to be people getting the magazine changes. An RCO makes it easier, but getting the mag changes is the hardest part. I should be releasing some videos on that soon.
Circle Dog Productions so you can choose what sight you qual with or it’s just what’s available? I’d have to pick ACOG.

How big are those targets, in MOA?
This is cake 1st time expert 38/40

Try not covering up your target with your irons......see if that helps

How can you not hit 40/40 with all that time?
2:59 It Starts the thing :D
Damn there was zero time between mag changes and position changes
Are they just using open sights?
Should be..
Red dot
@@thorfinthorfin3010 non-high speed MOS's will still be using iron sights, just like now.
Is it user choice on what the gun is zero'd to?
The ARMY need to change their badges or enlarge them
Went to the range today
Those 40 rounds aren't going into 10 round magazines. Those are 30 round magazines at around one minute into the video.
LOUIS LAZARUS each mag is getting 10 rounds so it’s the same in practice
1st
