This movie has such Family Guy vibes, from the jokes, the music (same composer), & even the cast. Obviously we have Seth MacFarlane (Peter, Stewie, Brian, & Quagmire) & Mila Kunis (Meg), but we also have Alex Borstein (Lois) as John’s mom, Ralph Garman (various characters) as John’s dad, & Patrick Warburton (Joe) as John’s coworker. Even Patrick Stewart did a few eps of Family Guy too.
After grossing $549.4 million at the box office, Ted became the 2nd-highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time (behind The Hangover Part II). It was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. It has one sequel, Ted 2, & a prequel TV series that will take place in 1993 is currently in development for Peacock.
9:13 Not sure if this is an intentional Easter egg but on the TV screen by Mila you can see the 9/11 movie United 93 as an On Demand movie option. Crazy coincidence but both Seth MacFarlane & Mark Wahlberg were scheduled to fly on American Airlines Flight 11 on 9/11. Seth, who was suffering from a hangover, missed the flight because he arrived 10 min too late (his travel agent gave him an incorrect departure time). Mark missed the flight because he changed his reservation the day before due to a change of plans.
I just started watching this. To give some context on your commentary: Tom Brady isn’t in Ted, he cameos in Ted 2 as himself for a short interaction. And yes, Patrick Stewart aka Jean-Luc Picard voices the narrator. You’re also the first blind reactor I’ve seen recognize the Branch Manager as the doctor in The Hangover. I’ll add some other comments or edit as necessary.
One of the greatest comedies ever bro. And Tom Brady is in the second one bro not this one 😂😂 This is one of my favorite movies but I love the second so much more lol 😅😅

Fun fact: Seth MacFarlane originally wanted Ted to be an animated series like Family Guy & American Dad.
