    How can you see chords without backing tracks?" Can we just choose a piano sound and try to work out the chord on our own? For example, if we flat the 3rd in real time we would see it go to a minor chord and then if we sharpen it we would see it go back to a major chord. Is that possible on the 670?

  • @hacksaw4966

    Nice to see one in your hands Adam, and great playing! Would be good to know what you really think of it, but I can see where you probably don't want to talk about any negatives if you are in the business of selling them. Since you have one, does that mean mine should show up soon? Ordered in early Feb. I'm just learning and I need it real soon if I'm ever going to get as good as you! Tell Yamaha to hurry up! ;-) How was the sound recorded for this? Mic'd speakers or line out?

  • @hacksaw4966

    Can anyone comment on the output jack for speakers? Could this be use with a high end set of computer speakers with subwoofer if one wanted to do that and get stereo? The manual just says it can be connected to "a speaker" or headphones.

    • @georgeemirzas7776
      @georgeemirzas7776 3 года назад +1

      You can do anything you want The only think is to have a good sound card in order to avoid any audio latency and also have a cable with a stereo jack in one end and two L R jacks in the other end. The speakers of the piano are very good and their presence gives you plenty of choices. If you want to practice for example ,you dont need all the system via computer to work.. If you want you can mute them from the piano and having only the system working but you will notice that with the speakers is better because they will working as monitors facing you and again with a good system with no latency...otherwise they have to be lower in volume from the system.Anyway when the piano is connected to a 'system' ,the speakers are always 'off ' and you have to turn them on every time,if you want them.

      I have two Yamaha YPG-235 keyboards that I use for live gigs. Stereo output cords (TRS 1/4" male plug) to a mixer, then to the (stereo) main PA. Excellent sound quality. The output jack can be used with a mono plug to an amp or other audio destination without damaging the keyboard, but there are stereo effects in some of the voices, and stereo sounds better. I would guess the DGX-670 uses the same output architecture, only better. If you use a stereo output plug to your computer speakers, you will get stereo sound, just like you hear in the headphones when they are plugged in to that same output jack. Hope this helps.

      nope, this model is only white/black. Of course, you can connect headphones, but if u really need no-speakers you should look for synthesizers, eg. MODX8 with a GHS keyboard

    I really liked the acoustic piano lows. But it's middles and highs regions sound poorly. The rhythm section, as always, sounds artificial. It's a instrument for kids looking for fun. I could buy one for my children, but not for my self.

    • @hacksaw4966
      @hacksaw4966 3 года назад +2

      An experienced pianist will likely be looking to drop more than $800 for his/her piano.... So you should probably compare the sound and features on this to others in the price point.

      Considering this one is one of the widest used by industry professionals according to everything I've seen and read, including from industry professionals themselves... I'm doubting your comment a lot.
      I've been researching portable keyboards and pianos for over a year and all of that has resulted in this being one of the top ones you can buy under $1,000 USD. It ends up having a lot more features than basic portable keyboards of the same price ($800 USD) due to being classed as an arranger.
      To call this a toy really mocks a lot of the professionals that use this model as they use it in their careers with great success. A toy is something for children. Trusting children with an expensive piece of equipment that some professionals end up using would be like giving your kid a designer suit and letting them play outside in it. I personally wouldn't trust a kid with anything over $300, and even then only something above $200 if it's a game console that'll stay in one place that isn't being messed with as much as a piano would be. I'd be too afraid this would be knocked over by a kid. There's less risk with a game console.
      These are the reasons why I'm having a hard time understanding where you're coming from because it doesn't make sense to me. I am okay with you explaining a bit more because I want to come to an understanding.
