Also, I’m not sure if you heard me mention you can lock the differentials individually, so unlike the Traxxas you can lock the rear only which is extremely beneficial when using rear wheel drive
Been waiting on this feature for years. I’m hoping axial or traxxas will jump on board. Switchable 4wd to 2wd is a scale feature that will make trailing much ore lifelike.
Good explanation! Ive just got my fcx10 yesterday and it didnt come with an extra pin for this, also some wierd binding in the rear diff when turning the rear left wheel but fine when turning the rear right wheel, front diff feels completely dry and spins freely but rear feels a bit tighter.. not sure whats going on in the rear end but going to have to strip and grease things at minimum
@WingnutsRC yea seems to be much more common from what I've seen. Still, I don't understand why they'll ship them with filled oil shocks but no grease elsewhere. The fcx is still a ripper deal though, had it out for the first drive today with rwd mod and it's extremely capable for a trail type truck
Trying to perform this now. What’s holding the trans in. I have removed the screws that look like they hold it in. But it won’t budge. What am I missing.
Yeah, I’m in the same boat I just keep flipping it 2 Front Wheel Dr. and then back to get it to lock in but then it ends up popping back out so I need to get the manual out and adjust the servos. I just got the second one delivered today. I had to order the black one lol I’m curious to see if that does the same thing
so sprocket and fork both need to be flipped in direction? im going to try this mod to fix my 4wd issue (i don't care about dig). thanks for the video!
Just the sprocket, the fork stays the same position it was but when you take it off, you have to turn it on the sprocket to get it back to the original position
Or at least that’s what I did now you have me second-guessing maybe that’s why it keeps popping out of four-wheel-drive from time to time. Lol I guess now we know what I’ll be doing tonight
@@WingnutsRC i took the trans apart yesterday, the fork has the same symmetry both sides so that makes no difference. i got the rwd conversion done, it works but it still pops in and out of position easily. this mechanism on my truck has been really finicky, im about to put both pins in and just have 4wd in both mid and rear ch6 positions haha (no dig or rwd)
I never use dig either , but 2 wheel donuts, I'm all in 😊
Sounds like you’re my kind of partier 🤘🏻

Looks Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Bro! Super helpful

Yeah, unfortunately these days I found that was the most brands

Great insight for anyone else how may have this issues out of the box. Hopefully FMS will take a look at this and resolve it
I’m pretty sure it was just a simple matter of adjusting the servo, but since I did the mod it fixed itself
Is there a good video out showing the entire process yet?
Not that I know of but I can try to get one made in the next week or so here

Did you get the front links?
@@WingnutsRC I got it done. Did a video on here of it. Works great.
Mine also has the issue of popping out of 4wd randomly. I havent messed with the servi endpoibts but im ass6that will be the fix

What size is the shorter pin? If ya dont have a shorter pin, can I just file the original one down??
Yep it’s the same diameter just needs to be shorter
It’s either a universal axle pin, although I had to shave one of my spares down a little bit for it to clear, so be prepared to do that
@@WingnutsRC 👍 thanks!
@@WingnutsRC will do! Thanks!
