In hindsight, this show was the perfect counter to Total Drama Island. Both took the idea of taking a game/reality show (typically aimed at and enjoyed by older audiences) and gearing it towards younger audiences, only while TDI was made for teens and was purely entertainment, Fetch was made for kids as edutainment. I kinda wanna see Ruff Ruffman and Chris McLean sit down and have a conversation.
Ruff would have them sail to an island for a camping trip and Chris would bust in his house being like "Hi Chris McClean here. I had my only paid intern bust this wall open to tell you to back off of my program spotlight! And while I cannot legally do anything to stop the kids, without severe ratings backlash, I am not above unleashing Owen after Chef's bean special in here.
I REMEMBER THIS! Along with Word Girl, Arthur, Dinosaur Train, Sesame Street, Peg + Cat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Word World, Wild Kratts, Super Why, Cyber Chase, Sid the Science Kid, Martha Speaks and lastly. Curious George. Gosh! I MISS THOSE DAYS! 😭😭😭😭
This just popped onto my homepage outta nowhere and I immediately clicked on it because HOLY COW THIS SHOW WAS AWESOME. This show is probably what I consider the crowning jewel of PBS Kids. If I were to put on something for a bunch of kids to watch, it would be this one. I almost consider it to be like Gravity Falls, in a way: the show had a definitive ending, had other types of media that continued to be released even after the show had already ended _(browser games, in FwRRM's case),_ and the main "game show" part of the show was just one part of it, these cold openings/closings being the other part _(much like how GF had _*_way_*_ more going on than it seemed)._ I watched this as a kid, and lemme say that I actually CRIED after I saw the series finale. I didn't want the show to be over. All in all, this show is a *_MASTERPIECE._* Nothing PBS Kids ever makes will ever top it.
Well said! They really did well with Season 5, putting a bow on the entire series despite only finding out it would be the last season after filming was completed. A masterpiece to be sure!

Blossom is so cute and she was always my favorite, she kind of reminds me of my black cat, Jubei. Mainly because she is a silent little snot (sometimes) but then she always maintains on being a good girl (sometimes)

36:49 honestly this episode was just a highlight because in every scene with ruff and blossom, we see Blossom doing some awesome acrobatic levels of tricks. Seriously, how does she do that stuff? There’s this one scene where she’s juggling on an unstable plank that’s being held on top of an umbrella and ruff doesn’t think that’s cool. Meanwhile, I’m over here thinking that’s the coolest thing ever seriously a cat that can do all that can’t get any cooler than that
1:03:12 and now Ruff is about to learn what sound skunk sometimes make, along with why dogs often get sprayed by skunks because they ignore the sign skunks give to them. Seriously dogs often ignore the warning sign skunks give to let other animals know they’re gonna spray them if they get too close. And I’m not sure if dogs actually learn after they’ve been sprayed by a skunk because if an animal is sprayed by a skunk or nose, what happens if they get sprayed by skunk they tend to avoid the skunk. Dogs seem to not do this and then they smell bad. Quick hit it. It turns out even dogs who learned or have been sprayed by a skunk previously still get sprayed if they don’t realize quickly enough or if they just don’t care.

This was an incredible show, but one thing I really didn't like about It is how it treated itself so badly. The constant running gags about it having low ratings in-universe were unfunny and in poor taste. The show deserved to be praised.
a "cold open" is a clip that plays before the intro sequence begins, it's cold because it's like throwing you into the water before you're used to the temperature no episode of Fetch begins with the theme song and the first clip is actually expecting it to come after so that's why I put it there
There should be no such thing as a cold open. I'm not saying that the scene shouldn't exist at all, I'm saying that the clips shouldn't be before the theme song, they should be after the theme song
of course it's not a choice everyone would make lol, it's all up to the writers and creators. Gravity Falls does cold opens really well but not many other cartoons have them. They're mostly done for live-action shows.
