As a Professional Sub-Divison Painter myself , I do pretty much the same and was taught the same .. But big difference is that there's no way I would use that pole at that short length. That is awful for ur back , and after 1 hour like that ur in serious pain . No way you can do that 8-12 hrs a day for 5-6 days a week and keep coming back to work lol Extend that pole and keep ur back straight man
I'm painting my house atm and I hate it!! It takes longer to prep things and clean up than the actual painting! After watching this Ive now made the executive decision to preserve my back and call in the professionals!
It's a very long roller (twice as long as average) with a thick nap texture that holds more paint. He also pre loads the wall with paint in the opposite direction that hes going to roll it out in. And, that is a relatively short wall in height and lenght. (I was a professional painter for years)
Fantastic work, plus i would advice you is to get a extension pole for that roller because you don't want to be having a bad as well as sore back at the end of the day, plus you will be able to roll paint the wall safely.
It took me so long to paint. Base coat plus two coats of color. Up and down the ladder. Still had to touch up spots on the ceiling from touching with the roller. If I did it like he did, there’s no way I’d have enough coverage after the paint dried. Very impressive.
You could do exactly as he did. Buy a longer thicker roller and preload the wall. Did you notice his first stroke? What about the swatches of paint on the wall that were not next to a fixture? ;)
@@bruhkent6895 Don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorite colors normally. But to paint at least 2 walls and the whole door frame in it, even as a kid's room, is too much.

I personally like to extend the pole whenever possible but I've never used such a wide roller and I do believe he was just trying to be as fast and as efficient as possible without hitting the ceiling or the floor or the baseboard or anything like that too much... Yes it does, but if you splotch a wall like that it is entirely possible to have darker spots I've seen my mom do it on accident 😂 That being said I'm not professional, nor is it my job to paint walls so I'm sure they have a good understanding of what they are doing hopefully.

Excellent technique for painting the wall. Great job. Thanks for sharing your video. I subscribed your RUclips channel to support your video. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
I am a painter and if, like the roll, it is going to need to do it again because it will have all the marks where the roll passed and also there are many patches that when dry will come out. and if the paint is eggshell gloss or semi gloss, all that severe when it dries that needs to be painted twice ... but if you like to leave a bad job to the client, then if it's okay you finish quickly and charge quickly ... for me that is a bad work
Just a quick tip.. make sure you extend that pole so that you don’t have to bend your back and apply pressure with your body on that roller if you want a happy back. Let the wrist and arms do the work.. making sure the pole is extended as far as necessary so you don’t have to bend as much. You will get the same outcome or even better for half the energy.. also what kind of brand is this roller sleeve??!😂

You use an angled paintbrush (usually a 1 1/2 or a 2 inch brush) to paint the corners and around trim. You can also use painters tape so you don’t bump anything, or if you’re not planning on painting the whole wall a single color.
It just pains me so much to see the zigzag line instead of a straight up and down line I mean - “Relax, take a deep breath. Your anxiety level is really high and you’re having a heart attack.”

Preparation for painting is the most Important and time consuming process. Painting it’s self is usually very quick!
