I made another quick video trying to explain the handle part a little bit better. I know it's a bit confusing but I think this will help: ruclips.net/video/hZQlWiARFhQ/видео.html If you're stuck at the handles, watch this video before you start that part. Let me know if you have any more questions! Thanks!! 😊
I have actually done this with plarn (plastic yarn) and it came out pretty good. Next time I will make the spaces a little smaller since right now things like carrots might otherwise fall out.
Bonjour, je suis une amatrice de macramé. Votre filet à agrumes est très joli, je l'adore ! Je vous souhaite une bonne journée et je voys remercie pour votre vidéo. À BIENTÔT ! Joëlle des alpes maritimes
Thankyou for your well-explained tutorial video, I just try to made my first macrame by watch your video. I did not get any difficulties in knotting process as this far. This will be my new hobby from now on my quarantine!!😃 Greetings from Indonesia👋👋
A bit confusing at the handles, skipped a bit forward to see the whole picture and figured out where to start. Plus I would've appreciated if it was mentioned that we use totally different piece of cord for gathering knots. It took time to figure out. Otherwise great tutorial. Thank you!
Mine turned out ok I think, except seems fairly narrow. I wonder if I did something wrong? It was confusing about the handles in the video to me, I had to rewatch it several times to know what part to start the handles from.
Hi, I was wondering if the number of cords could fluctuate? They sold out of the green cord I was using and I only have 26 cords with the 8ft measurements.
I finished the handles and loved them... until i started the next step and realized i somehow do NOT have anywhere NEAR enough cord left for the bag 🥺 i dont even have a full 22" handle. Dont know where to go from here, HELP NEEDED
Lovely bag and spent a nice quiet day making it. My only problem was right at the end, when I tied the bottom knots to close up the bag, even though I followed your instructions carefully, tied the knots really tight, I still ended up with huge gaps at the floor of the bag. Certainly count put anything too small in or it would fall through the holes. I think even a lemon would fall through😔
I was leaving 1" between each row for the whole bag, then 1 did 3 rows that were 1/2" apart and then 3 rows in which the the there was no space between them, then tied off.
Oy -- I sooooo wanted this to work but things aren't lining up looking like yours and I don't know how to fix it. I got stuck maybe on the connecting part or made one too many rows. The first two rows look good but that's where things got F%$#ed up. :(
Oh no!! I’m sorry to hear that! There’s a written version of the tutorial on my site that might help- I know I sometimes have a hard time wrapping my head around videos alone so I try to provide written instructions as well www.marchingnorth.com/diy-macrame-bag/
Love the braided strap! Can you do the macrame part with groups of 2 strings, instead of 4? Just make the knot without going over 2 strands in the middle?
Thank you! Honestly, I’m not sure- it’s square knots that I used in this pattern so you need 4 cords for that, but there might be another kind of knot that uses 2 cords that I don’t know about lol.
I love the handles of your bag they seem very comfortable compared to other tutorials but it’s so hard to understand your process in making them, it would help if you zoomed out to see the whole picture of the cords hanging so we can guess what we should also be doing, the tape was put on one side, then flipped, then theres a knot made, then it’s flipped again... it’s quite hard to follow 😅
I hear ya! I’m going to work on recording another video showing the handles specifically and I’ll pin it in the comments once I get it live. Sorry for the confusion!
Marching North thank you so much! Will go and watch right away. Would the whole project work with 30 instead of 32 strands of cord? I realized I don’t have extras for the gathering knots otherwise 😭
Clara Gomes in order to do the square knots I think (and I’m not a math person) that it needs to be divisible by 4. So if you can’t do 32 (which would be 16 on each side) I think you’d have to reduce it to 24 (with 12 cords on each side) and then it would work but your bags going to be a lot skinnier. I could be wrong about that though, math is the bane of my existence lol.
I didn't realise you were meant to flip the cords over before starting the braid, so my handle end almost at the end of the cords. I'm now at 5:46 on the video. Any way to save this without undoing it all?
Oh no! I think you’ll have to undo it and restart 😱 I’m so sorry! When I was making this pattern I screwed up and had to take it all apart a couple of times. I feel your pain!
I would just cut your ropes longer, I’m not sure how much longer but I’d probably try 20 to 30 inches longer just to be safe. I tend to cut mine way too long but I hate running out of rope, lol.
With respect, I totally disagree. I find your tutorials easy to listen to and follow. I play them alongside actually doing the project and stop and replay if I’m not sure. I’m going to try this project today, as we have quite a stormy day outside today, in the uk. Love from Devon 🤗
@@MarchingNorth I have to disagree with their comment. I've never made anything macramé and this is my first thing. I am also autistic and adhd so if anyone is going to fail at following instructions its me (I'm also a mollydooker aka left handed) LOL. Thank you for taking the time to put this together I am very appreciative of people like you :-) This has been fun to make :-D

This is such a well done tutorial. Thank you for being so clear in all your instructions and video work!
very nice instructions and bag. Thank You for your time and effort!!
Hi, I just want to say that I made this in a dark green 3mm cord and it is beautiful and perfect! The handles are perfectly comfortable. Thank you!
Oh wow I bet that’s gorgeous!! ☺️
This was one of the first bags I made. I love the tutorial…and the bag

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME TUTORIAL,!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊 Sorry caps locked and didn’t realize🤣

De todas las ejecuciones que vi, esta se acerca a mis deseos. Muy buena técnica 😃. Gracias
Hi, just wondering if i would be able to use 3mm 3ply cord too?
You could, I’d probably add a little extra length to the cords, maybe 20 inches to be safe? Good luck 😊
What size did you use in the video? Maybe I missed if you mentioned it already ❤@MarchingNorth

Really lovely ! Thank you 😊

It will work, your bag will just be skinnier. I’d love to see how it turns out!
How wide is the cording? 3mm, 4mm, etc? @marchingnorth
Could you do a normal 3 strand braid instead of a 4 strand?
Sure that would work too! 😊

heyy! may i know the height (without the string) and width of the bag??
very beautiful, it is not clear what the length of the threads is, please tell me, thank you❤❤
The lengths are in the video description 😊
Thanks...great job!
Hi, this bag is very nice. Could you tell me how long is each strand?
The lengths are in the description 😊
8 feet
Hey! I am sorry, but I did not understand the length of the cotton cord, can you help me? Thank you 🥰
The lengths are in the video description 😊
Thank you!

What is the measurement of the cord we need.

what are the measurements of the bag?
It’s about 24” long and 14” wide at the bottom.

very very very confusing, especially at the handle part, ended up wasted the whole macrame thing i bought
this is not very well explained or filmed. wouldnt reccomend to anyone new to macrame.
