- Taking place between the events of Octoling: Innocent 2 Part 3 and Part 4, Lilia is summoned by her mentor Lilith into an unexpected shift. How will she fare in this peculiar assignment with her comrades?
There’s a few new experiments that I’ve tried in this animation, one being a different method of doing hair physics. Let me know what you think of it. Anyways… this one took a while.

Two things I was not expecting:
Redesigns and voice acting
I like them both but they’ll take time to get used to

Weirdly the thing I’m more bothered by is Lilia’s redesign…mostly because, as far as I know, it came out of nowhere, I think it looks bland compared to her old design, she’s behaving very differently (but that’s easily explained by this being a dream) and I can’t figure out if and how Poool’s gonna explain the reason for the change in the story…since this is part of a prequel and every other project uses the old design (although I just went back and checked…Return Trip did use the new designs, but they were barely focused on) I don’t think the new design is BAD, I’m just used to- and as such prefer- the old one, and am curious if there’s an in-universe explanation for the redesigns or if it’s just a flat out retcon

You're really diving into the territory of motion capture and it is quite incredible what you're doing with it and SFM, absolutely nice job there!! You did good on this project too, the lighting and effects especially are very good ^^
While the hair looks really good when the characters are moving a lot, there's always some more work that can be done to make some parts look a bit more fluent when the characters aren't moving as much, also it never hurts to apply some good old principles of animation here and there for some of the normal animated parts to make them feel more realistic and fluent.
Voice acting too was quite a shock to hear! Personally it doesn't fit due to how you've always done it all without it , but that's definitely up to you ^^
Keep up the good work and it's always nice to see you back in action after such a long time again ^w^
Although for VA they used RVC aka Voice Conversion AI i still find it smart to see the use of it on a project like this.. The only question is. If this isnt going to backfire the channel or the video itself. Since using someones voice on AI can be a hit or miss. Some people mind it. And some wont.

I'm SO glad you're back. Never ever have I been so glad to have notifs on. When I got into Splatoon and discovered your channel I absolutely LOVED all your animations. You were the very first Splatoon animator I ever saw, and it really got me into it. I started watching more and more, and I can surely thank you for helping ne discover what my dream is: becoming a professional animator.
I can kinda say you were my childhood, and it indeed feels like it.
When I saw your last post was like 4 years ago I really felt down for a while. I didnt really knew if you'd ever come back, but kept all notifications on. Thanks God I did. And I'm really sorry for those who didn't.
I just wanna say that you're awesome. Your skills are incredible and all your animations neat. Not only visually, which the natural movents and lighting for being made in SFM are atonishing, but also the storyboarding. I loved octoling innocent so much, octolings becoming later playable really warmed my heart.
Thank you for everything you've done, for inspiring me and many others. And thanks for coming back. Even if someday you leave Splatoon, we'll be there to see. Whatever you decide to make I sure will watch it. Welcome back! I can't wait to see what you do next!
To be honest, I was always so inspired by your animation skills, and now, 6 years later, I'm finally studying animation in college and coming back to your series made me so emotional, it's like everything came full circle for me.:)
Some of the movent still feels uncany, but the level of detailing is on to the next level

The idea of smaller animations taking place between episodes is absolutely perfect! Seeing them all
together again brings back so much nostalgia, it's beautiful to see! ^^
It's wonderful that you're trying out different things too. The new hair jigglebones look really great! When the
character doesn't have much movement however the hair doesn't move much either. Perhaps you can try out
something else here, or perhaps animate the hair and saving it as an idle animation. The AI voice was a shock
too! I personally am not too sure if it fits well, but that's just my thought on them. Love the idea behind it!
Something else too. I noticed that you're not using your custom clothing model anymore. It looks fine the way
it is now, but if you ever need your old model I once recreated it for SFM. Just letting you know about it, feel
free to do anything. It's truly wonderful to see you back after such a long time, especially since you're the one
who inspired me to animate in the first place.

Okay, as excited as everyone is for Lilia's story with Poool and co, I rewatched all of Innocent 2 and Return Trip and I'm really curious about the other four trainee Octolings, Clara (Magenta w/ Gal Deco), Roux (Orange w/ Octoshot), Aelita (Pink w/ Bamboozler), the unnamed(?) indigo one with the Octoshot, and maybe Amber (Red w/ Octoshot). I don't know how much more we'll see of Amber since she has no notable design differences and is only seen in Innocent 2 3/5 and is the only splatted Octoing during the mission, but the other four definitely have potential for side characters. Indigo and Roux have often been seen with each other, Roux and Clara have shown to be fierce and merciless during 3/5's mission, and Clara and Aelita have shown individuality in clothing in Innocent 2, with Clara wearing a black jacket and Aelita with a pin in her hair. Aelita stands out the most because she's always seemed timid like Lilia, and it looked like she was caught trying to escape(?) and getting backlash at the end of 3/5. We even see her Bamboozler on the damp area Poool was walking through before getting knocked out by Skarlet. Definitely seeing what these four have in store, if anything.
