  • Do you know dicing kits work in a Robot Coupe® food processor?
    Checkout this video to see how 2 plates work together at one time to both slice and then dice your product.
    This particular demonstration shows how a large 2" dice works with head lettuce to create a hand-cut effect. Talk about time savings - once the lettuce has been prepped, you can complete a case of 24 heads in a few minutes.
    Robot Coupe offers 7 different dicing kit sizes for different food products, ranging from 3/16" up to 2".

    Big Tray could you PLEASE let me know which machine - Robot Coupe CL52 or Hobart food processor is better for dicing & grating. Eagerly waiting for ur reply

    • @ChefsToys
      @ChefsToys  7 лет назад

      Hobart makes several different food processors. They tend to be larger and more powerful than the CL-50. For the price, the CL-50 is a great work horse unit that we sell a ton of. That means that lot so f cooks and chefs will already have some familiarity with it which is a nice advantage. Both companies make top quality equipment. How much volume do you plan to do with your food processor?

      Thanks for ur reply. Size is not a matter. I am interested in robot coupe cl 52 because it is fully made up of stainless steel. Hobart is made up of steel as well as aluminium and so I don't want it. So I just need some HONEST review for robot coupe cl52. Can u PLEASE point out some advantages and disadvantages of robot coupe cl 52. Are there any issues while operating it or any issues in getting international warranty as I belong to India where there is no authorized shop of Robot Coupe Kitchen Appliances Company.
      My main purpose of buying Robot Coupe is Dicing and Grating.

      They are great machines. I don't know about getting international warranty coverage though. Perhaps you should contact the factory? www.robot-coupe.com/international/

    • @ChefsToys
      @ChefsToys  7 лет назад +1

      We're pretty sure that you can mix and match the discs, but just to be sure we put in a call to the factory. As soon as I hear back I'll let you know. Thanks.

    • @ChefsToys
      @ChefsToys  7 лет назад

      So, the factory says you can mix and match slicing discs and dicing grids, but if you want to use a 3mm grid on a CL-50, you need to order the CL-50 Gourmet. The standard CL-50 will only go down to a 5mm dicing plate. I hope that helps. please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

    Can this be used for dicing cooked meat using the smallest dicer attachment?

    • @ChefsToys
      @ChefsToys  8 лет назад

      That's a good question. It's not recommended by the factory, but you could probably get away with it on a larger dice. Like a 1/2" cube. On the smallest grid you are probably going to end up with mush, unless the consistency of the meat is just right. The machine is really designed for vegetables. If you want some more information, you should call our product specialist team at (714) 665-2433 or customersupport@chefstoys.com

    What blade would b suitable for 2mm dicing onions

    • @ChefsToys
      @ChefsToys  6 лет назад

      I don't think they have a 2mm dicing kit available, at that size you would end up with mush. There is a 5mm dicing kit, but you might be better off with a 4mm brunoise blade. Another option would be to run the onions through a 2mm slicing kit twice. Give our customer service team a call at 1-800-BIGTRAY (1-800-244-8729) or an email at help@bigtray.com and they can help you with pricing.

      BigTray - Restaurant Equipment & Supplies does the machine come with the the dicing blades

  • @jhnbtr
    @jhnbtr 8 лет назад +2

    stuff doesn't work, we used it for a week, then blades get dull and doesn't work anymore. and these blades need, to be replaced. huge money. waste of money. Unit now sitting in the store room, and they wouldn't take it back. my 2 cents. If anyone know if we did something wrong please tell me.

    • @ChefsToys
      @ChefsToys  8 лет назад +1

      +John Bitar, Sorry to hear that. You should be able to get heavy use from those blades for a for quite a while before they need to be replaced or sharpened. Of course, some things will dull them faster than others. If the dealer you bought it from won't help you, you can always call the factory direct at 1-800-824-1646. At BigTray we sell a lot of these and people seem to really like them. I personally had one at a busy deli I used to run and it was a go-to piece of equipment.

      slicing works great, dicing kits gets dull, in no time and things get dicey after that. I called today, and my sales rep is seeing if we can get the broker in to see what the deal is.

      +John Bitar Well, that sounds better than having it sit in the store room. Let us know how it goes.
