Thanks for that video Bud 😎👍 It happened to me in the morning. I got that OTTER BOX COVER but it doesn't do any good job to protect the screen!!! It was good on Note4 or S6 but S9plus screen just sucks ! I will never buy a phone with a raised screen again like S9plus !!! Thanks one more time for great video 😊
Hi, can you tell me which 3M tape you used please? I have been looking online and can't find the same product that you have used. What thickness etc do i need?
Hey! Great video. Where would you recommend buying the replacement screen and pre-cut adhesive? I looked around on Amazon but it's hard to determine the quality and make sure I have the correct parts.
You can buy it on Ebay. Type in "Galaxy S9 adhesive". You can also buy the screens on Ebay. I go through a business to business supplier so I can't link it on here.
I have watched a lot of your videos and am wondering what kind of adhesive you use for front Glass only replacement and what UV light set up you suggest buying? I live all the way in Wyoming and there really isn't any quality phone repair shop around and the one we do have over charges because they are the only o e in town.
@@jameskarr2521 I prefer LOCA glue because its fast and easy for me but with certain models like the Note phones, OCA sheets and the debubbler machine work better.
Is it possible to take the Main board from one S9 with a broken screen and install it into another S9 with a good screen? Since you can now buy the phone on the aftermarket cheaper than a screen replacement
Yes you can. All your info/data will go over. A new Galaxy S9 screen costs $75. I dont know where you would buy a Samsung phone for cheaper then that? I would just repair my own phone screen then buy another S9 though. Your doing more work when buying another phone. Cause now you have to open up and work on 2 phones instead of one.
@@RichardMeza Its an s9 Plus and in my area a used galaxy S9 plus is the same approx $150 same price as a replacement screen. If I could get a screen for &% bucks I would def go that route, but I cant. Also if I pick up a used S( Plus in great shape I have the battery and other usable parts at my disposal. Thats my thinking. It is my daughters ohone and well she is super attatched to it, and she doesnt even want a brand new phone to replace it, she wants her phone, that exact phone, not one like it, or I even offered a brand new s22 ultra and she said she would rather keep her phone. So that is where I am at.
When you open the phone to do any type of repair, water resistant is no longer there. You have to make the decision to what is more important. A broken phone or taking pictures under water.
I disagree strongly with the adhesive on the battery. If the battery ever needs replacement, you risk killing the screen, especially if the tech is unaware of the non-OEM adhesive placement.
^ This, same goes with the exposed circuits. Also I have replaced mine with no extra adhesive and it still feels like one solid piece. No popping sounds or anything, display sits normally.
I don't understand why a full dismantle was needed for this repair. I understand a full swap with screen/frame replacement. The amount of heat used to remove the screen glass would not harm anything... or did all that need to be moved just to unhook the display ribbon?
You have to take the phone apart to unhook the display cable. If you dont take the phone apart, there is no way how you can reconnect the new screen into the motherboard and the new display cable.
He's probably referring to everything you removed after the 3min mark. I also have the same question. Once you have access to unplug the screens ribbon cable your done, no? Whyd you remove the selfie camera etc?

@@peterw1534 Yes, there is no reason to remove everything to detach screen. Only 15 screws, and black plastics, and detach battery connection to motherboard.

Heya Richard, great full clear tutorial! ..5yrs later i still have my S9+ ..and I guess it my turn to get the screen replaced as it has similar to what you fix then.. Did a fantastic job at explaining it and helping me make the decision to just pay someone to do it 😂
Thats what I said
Finally, a proper guide on a screen replacement which shows actually attaching it to the frame !!
Best repair phone video ever.....👍🏾
I follow exactly what you taught, I don't have heat gun but I used alcohol to remove the cover, now my phone is good as new thanks.
One word= PRO!!!
Where did you get the replacement screen
Where do i buy the screen?
Great video. I really appreciate all the detail and tips.

So the new screen has its own adhesive and you also put another layer of adhesive on the front of the phone?

Cases don't cover the edge of the flagship Samsung phones because your supposed to use the edge although most people don't.
Good job on the video thank you …
I have question can you also clean it with alcohol?
Nice work brother 👏 💪
Hey man good video, but I liked your watch, what is it? Thank’s

I use both LOCA and OCA sheets. Just depends on the model cell phone. UV light is basically a chicks nail UV light that they use to dry nails.

Can I recover all my stuffs inside after fixing the screen
Would it be good to hear the adhesive so it will stick better?
I dont understand? You mean listen to the adhesive to make sure it doesnt have that popping sound?

@@hypeman28 Yes. I use a little heat before I stick the screen into the frame.
@@RichardMeza alright cool. Thanks for the advice.
@Richardmeza I thought all the samsung original screen come with a new frame and housing
Depends on how you buy them. You can buy them with the frame or without frame. Without frame costs cheaper.

so how much is it to change this screen i have the S9+ but the cost for it was only$229
is the inside of the S9 similar to the S9+ inside?
It's the exact same. But you can not use parts from different phones. S9 parts are only used with the S9, and so on.

What is the fastest way to fix just the glass? Your freezer trick? And does the back of the phone have to be taken off?
Current method I use with the S9 is the freezer method. Yes the insides of the phone are taken out.
