The hole in the frame makes it super easy to live the bearings. This knife is truly amazing.
The hole in the knife is great for cleaning the detent line with a q tip and a light oil makes opening way smoother
I was at USA blades the other day a Friday ago and they had American flag versions where it was anodized in. It was awesome they also had a ton of hinders. I live in Asheville but I have to go to Charlotte for a sales meeting every Friday morning so that's like the candy store for me.
Man that knife is a beast! It would be cool to see that stacked up against an 0562
I just exchanged my 0562cf that I had first a week for this guy. I really liked the 0562 but this one feels more like a tank
This knife means alot to me and I don't even have one, but just seeing it gives me hope that ZT's not done yet, and maybe still have some home runs up their sleeve

I own this knife and i LOVE it . Its super smooth and the blade drops back into fold position by gravity alone. I have one in OD Micarta Canvas from USA Made Blades.
I purchased some natural Micarta scales for my ZT0308 from USA Made Blades, they also have G10 and Micarta scales too.😃
I love ZT and that knife looks amazing. And yes they always come sharp out of the box. Re-sharpening however, is a different story...I sent an 0562 back for sharpening and it came back duller than when it left, and the bevel was so uneven that I don't even use or wear that knife anymore.
So why didn't you call their customer service up to bitch about it & send it back in to have it done correctly? It's not like it would have cost you anything. Did you try checking it over for burrs at all or by lightly throwing it on a strop at all?
@@blwngt1598 Because I have better things to be doing than packing it up and having to go to the post office again and wait another 6 weeks. I was just so disappointed, it turned me off to that knife and their QC entirely.
@@gregwromsI’d rather get my knife fixed than choose to throw it away basically and come complain about how bad a job somebody else did sharpening your knife. Every manufacturer deserves the chance to make mistakes right before getting bashed.
@@81ghale Dude, their name is zero tolerance. And I gave them their props. But I was so disappointed after waiting for so long. How is it possible to leave the shop that way? Answer that.
This one hits my nostalgia button. The speedsafe is what always kept me away from the 300 series, but I loved everything else. This one is just striking.Resisting the urge hard, but I’m sure I’ll have one soon.
I guess I didn’t realize anyone on earth who is into knives actually pushes on a flipper tab like a button. I’ve never once pressed on one like a button. That’s incredibly strange because it seems so obvious that you should flip it like a switch and not a button. Especially for someone who is into knives. If I handed a flipper to them and they pushed it down like a button, I would take the knife back without saying a word and leave. The friendship would end there.

I wish they would re-do the 0350 and make it without spring assist and maybe thin it out. I think it’s a really cool classic zt platform and I would buy a more premium version. I like the 3.25 blade length
im pretty sure they made a 0350cf version a few years ago, but its probably discontinued at this point
Unfortunately, mine had weak detent. 😥 Love it though. Wish replacement was in my hands already.
Not just on yours! There is another reviewer here on RUclips who had the same issue on this knife after some hard use ... So I've done some research on this. Turns out that titanium isn't actually as tough as they say when it comes to *thinner construction* (like the locking detent). Actually, titanium is weaker than stainless steel when it's applied in thin construction.
This is a veeery good looking knife in my opinion, I would genuinely love this to be perfect but ZT made wrong/poor decisions when it comes to engineering this knife as this seems to be a recurring issue.
Shout out to USAMADEBLADE, just grabbed one with the carbon fiber scale, looks awesome.
Love the beefiness and overall shape, but not the color or texture. Looks like a peanut shell. I’ll wait for another color option. I also wish ZT would use PB washers on these heavy duty knives, or at least give an option similar to Hinderer. I’ve got some really smooth knives on washers. I know it can be done.

I love this knife, got it on clearance from academy for 120 bucks. The scale darkens with use, so while I’d love to have a different scale it has grown on me. This knife is a classy workhorse and I haven’t been easy on it. This and a small knife like the roadie or chaparral make a great combo to carry. Not that you need anything else but this knife, but I like to carry a less scary knife just in case.

@@itsaknifestyle8482 the ZT Emerson has a weak point where the thumbdisk screw hole is. I guess the 0300 is it.
@@robertm8401 i carried a 0640 for a year using it pretty hard, that "weak point" never even crossed my mind. its not a concern

I own zt0566bw and I wish 0308 had Hinderer lock and 2 steel bars on the blade like on 0566. May be gonna buy 0308.
Something I haven’t seen anyone mention yet is the G10 side of the knife is thicker than the back side. I can’t think of any knives I have that do the same. It kinda makes one side feel heavier which is weird. Still an awesome knife tho.

First expensive knife I ever got was a ZT 0450 and lost it in an uber 😒.
It makes the pm2 look baby! That knife is a little big for me but I think it looks totally awesome.

Would you measure the heights, in profile, of the widest parts of the blades and handles of the 0303 and 0308 when you compare them? It looks, to me, like the 0308 is shorter than the 0303. I missed out on the 0300-0303 and I find the 0308 appealing. Thank You!

The quality of fit and finish is awfull for a 300+ knife. Have you noticed how a g10 scale doesn't fit (sticks out at the bottom)? I have 2 of these and they both have this issue.

I’m having a hard time between this and the 0223
I like the hole.
I love all my ZT's , but I find their 20cv steel to be soft , it doesn't have the same edge retention as 20cv from other well known companies , so I'd rather ZT use their s35vn and lower their prices about $50.00 or more or just stop playing with the 20cv , I don't care if your trying to make the steel tougher , if you advertise 20cv then give me real 20cv , that's probably a big reason why I want the knife in the first place.

ZT are hard use, but not long-term hard use, they're short term hard use. They are very beefy and overbuilt, but since they use bearings, you have to frequently service the knife, which if you use your knife during the weekdays and take it apart on weekends, then ZT is perfectly ok. But if you're on a 1-month-long journey, bearings surely not the best choice
There's an 0562 i show fairly regularly on this channel (as a form of constant evidence) that has been owned and used daily by my buddy Rob. He doesn't clean it at all. Literally zero maintenance, and it's fine. If you poor sand in it, ya, itll lock up. But otherwise, bearings tend to be ok during normal use. He works in the service department of my old dealership, so the knife sees use and debris daily. I'm not sure why people think this way, but it's a little over exaggerated.

What's funny is that everytime you do an overview video on a ZT & pull out your scale I always think "ha, even his scale has a ZT sticker on it by the power button" right before I remember what they really mean & then make fun of myself for somehow falling for it every single time!🥴😁

Hmm oddly defensive ab the hole..
It's not a "Huge" knife in the sense it has a lot of usable size. It's chunky and takes up a lot of space but it isn't beneficial to function. Compare this idea to larger knives that do have a reason to be bigger like a ZT 0450CF or Spyderco Police. The 0300 and now this are just big for the sake of being big.

I'm a little disappointed in this knife. It's an excellent knife nevertheless. It solved the weight problem of the old ZT 0301 but.... It doesn't have proper jimping anymore. ZT is now starting to produce knives as collectible items. These knives are intended to sit on shelves. Brittle steels, flimsier locks, etc. I'm losing respect for the producer of heavy duty folders. This ZT0308 is still a full-fledged tactical folder, and it is still good but I can see it loses tactical features as jimping. More importantly, I thought they would use tough Elmax steel more and more but they are no different from other Boutique knife manufacturers that intend their production only for a knife collection. So they use brittle steels more and more making sure customers don't need to ever sharpen their knives. They could have used tougher steel, like S35VN or Elmax; they could have used some jimping but no.... They are going the Boutique way. I'm starting to lose interest in ZT knives. I thought they would improve even further on the excellent 0560 models but that looks like it's not going to happen any time soon.
