Better for what ? Sound system is not a live show. I have heard line array sound great , and sound like crap. Old school EAW KF 650/SB 1000 was a great system , EAW line array ??? No thanks I have heard Meyer and L acoustic line arrays sound great, can the average sound system in Jamaica afford that gear , and the trusses and rigging to hang them ? No We have to build our own most of the time, some sound great, some do not. The greatest sound in reggae history is Jack Ruby Hi Power, check it. Custom tube amp , 48 KT 88s built by Lloyd Matador Daley. I own JBL transducers, many are excellent. Vertec ? No thanks. Remember we invented sound system culture right here in Jamaica.
Line array is boring it's manufactured nothing original having a sound build up from the roots mash up somebody else sound is way more impressive than using boring manufactured boxes

I disagree. There are plenty of large cabinets STILL sounding great : 18 or 21 inch scoops ; 18 inch 2x18 reflex. It's a question of economics : Jaro is now playing 2x21 bandpass on sub, they give more output than the others I mentioned. Do they sound better ? Not to me, but to a sound owner they may put more profit in his pocket.
So as somebody from a different island I have a question Both sound systems come together and play at the same time or is it they have their specific times to play each system during the height of the events
