Durango will always be in my memory and never leave, it was the first mobile game that gave me love and passion for mobile gaming
Facts, crazy it flopped but I think the implementation of the way they tried to monetize it killed it. Can't really remember what changed but the beta was God tier then I remember the actual release was way different and not as fun

Durango is the best game on mobile device, i give you that. It gives all the functionality and everything else that no other game would.
From my point of view, problem with durango is, well 5 years ago WhatStudio did release the full version of the game, right after 2 months they close the beta (its in February) but ONLY in korea. Followed by next release in Indonesia 6 months later. And it was closed server only for these countries. Now when they released globaly early this year, they mixed new players and old players from those 2 countries which have been playing for years. Many players are not satisfied, so Nexon have to make 2 new servers (Asia 2 & West servers). It sounds like it might solve the problem if the new players register their id in the new servers. But then the old players starts flooding the new servers as well. With that, people stop buying in-game items. There's no way you can beat someone who have years of knowledge & suck down all the important recourses dry. Even during the end-game, the resource for example tarbosaurus, is no where to be found. The old player know where it can be found, what time it will show up again, captured it, and sell it for 999, 999, 999, 999 game currency each. So, how will you enjoy the game?? The result is, just play for free with some friends.
As for so called "creative mode". Its not creative at all. Its just a house building simulator without all the crafting. You can't use anything, just sit or sleep on your things. Why would someone keep 2GB+ game inside a phone which can only do that much?
Lastly, i say this again, Durango Wild Lands was the best game on mobile device. It offers adventure beyond dreams for nowadays busy life style we have.

I'm on a tiny nostalgia trip with that game... It was just so good, better than a lot of actual PC games. I want it to be bought by another company and brought back.
I'm wishing for a Durango Wild Lands PC Game so I can financially support them and get the world's best game back. I normally get sick of grinding but the pace wasn't too slow and I was pretty proud of my leveling up and learning skills. I like the idea of survivor games but I'm always disappointed by them. I don't need to find radio parts to try and get off the island, I'm forever trapped in a weird pocket world that's always shifting with dinosaurs I can tame and ride. I spend my time fashioning leaves together for an outfit or to build a tent. I like it, I'm trying to survive like everyone else. I can be alone or help someone. I get sent on missions if I want, or I putter way on my own island. It was nice.

But this was their experimental game. Making in game purchase super optional, trying to avoid pay to win as much as possible. As Durango died, most of innovative staffs in Nexon got fired. They could change through this game. But well... 😑

Coming back to this game i didn't realize how different the vibe is, always felt cozy playing this game just roaming around the island with my dino mount harvesting resources and completing mission. God this game is a one of a kind only imo

it failed bcoz of lack of advertisement to the point the people are not aware that this masterpiece does exist.

As a person who played Durango from start to last day, it was not in-game purchase, that took the game down, it was mostly servers, starting almost every friday, the servers would go garbage, and playing would be hell, there were still ppl willing to bare with it, including me, but boy oh boy, it never got good.
And regarding purchases, there were so many items from the shop in the game, it was cluttered with shop items, so many of us were scavengers, always going to island and looting all the abandoned cash shop items and all.
It was crazy.
I started playing this game since it came out in my country India and I had a lot of fun with the friends I made in the game, but unfortunately I had to take a break from the GAM due to my work. Now I thought of coming back to the game, and I installed it today and I found it strange.... Everything is gone, I was so confused
It was truly too good and not appreciated enough. They made it easy to make money you could spend to trade for literally anything p2w.

2019 sh*t i just bought a good phone that can run durango on 60fps but it's shutting down and i spent alot of money on it and also some hundred of hours playing.
Dude, I spent like $55 dollars on stuff for the game, and I dropped it like 2 months after I started...then when I felt like getting back into it, I see that it's ending in 2 weeks. Worst feeling ever.

Such a wonderful game and yet they stopped working on it..there were so many people playing it and it was AMAZING. I want it to come back so bad...
I played it for 2.5 years. Still can't find anything even close to it.
I played the game and i fell in love with it after a while it took so much space i had to delete it. six months laterand then i bought a new phone that had lots of space so i thought i would go back to durango but will i came back i knew something was different i searched online on youtube for what happened to the game now i know what happened so it's really sad a great game had to go down but we will always remember it. Long-lived durango

I played this game for quite awhile but the demand of maintenance to help a clan was way to much especially with the land purchasing. Also to only work on one skill set isn't bad but not being able to have multiple skills permanently is what made me turn away. I made a character as a cook. But had to rely on other players to build building or to create stronger weapons because the game set up bad it impossible to have multiple skills at the same time
I just found out its been shut down. Earlier I was looking to reinstall it, couldn't find it. Now I know... WHY is it always the beat games that die out?? Does anyone know if it'll come back but on another platform???

It was also a problem that the game was released too late when games such as ARK survival evolved etc. had already been released.

I had an android at this time when Durango came out but before I played Durango I played village life before it shut down. When village life shut down I found the game Durango on App Store so I decided to play it for a couple months it was good, then I get hit with the game shutting down which made me upset af but they’re was really nothing I could do about it😔 Then I played Storyscape which was a choice based game that was pretty decent then it shut down. I’m seeing a track record with this😔 I hate the fact that Durango got shut down cause it was the only game that I would play hours on edge.

They should have not remove the savage islands. It is the endgame pvp content that keeps me playing on CBT. The risk-reward on going on savage island. Even if you are not a PVP player it is worth the risk going on newly opened savage island.

I don't understand why they didn't take the whole game down. It's still on the app store but all you can do when you download it is play the entering sequence and claim an island then you don't even get to craft, all you can do is "delete" things from your island. I loved this game and don't completely understand why it was needed to be shutdown. Sad.
It's been a year and I haven't moved on, still haven't found any similar or even close to Durango...

I had stop playing the game for two or three months got back on and my private island was deleted and everything I had in storage and all my tames so wasn't worth starting over especially since my clan of 25 or 20 quite completely it was unique but not worth grinding all over again
