- From Tooney Talk Wrestling Episode 12, Marvin and the guys were joined by former UFC and TNA official Ant Evans. When the subject of TNA came up, Ant told the panel that despite his attempts, Scott D'Amore said they were not allowed to fire back any zingers at Tony Khan's cringey heel promos when the two companies were "working together."
The conversation then turns to whether Ant believes Scott D'Amore would ever work for AEW or WWE in a backstage role. Hear what he has to say for yourself!

This isnt really shocking. Tony cant take the heat.
It's ridiculous people actually think that "partnership" with TNA and AEW was beneficial.
Only to AEW.
Lots of folks were all over the AEW/ROH partnership. And now ROH isn’t even an after thought. He’s going to do the same to Bushiroad as well.
Too many folks thinking they can use TK and AEW for short term gains and come out successful in the long run.

AEW is full of woke. They fired Kevin Kelly for nothing and that he supported the Sounds of Freedom movie. He's against human trafficking.
Tony Khan being allowed to give it but doesn't want to take it? That's not a partnership, that's a Tony Khan ego stroke. What else would you expect from Tony. You can bet that WWE wouldn't stand for that if AEW wanted a partnership with them.

The difference between Triple H and Tony Khan is that Triple H is comfortable enough to have people make fun of him and even ask him tough questions. Tony on the other hand fumbles like a spoiled kid. Also good for Scott in telling Anthem off.
Ego of Tony is greater than maybe even Trip in The 2000 when he and later on Stephanie buried anyone..idk is trip now More willing to take some/make himself look like a clown like Vince back in the days
It really does piss me off that not only did AEW striped TNA of guys that admittedly were top guys for them like Brian Cage and Pentagon to do fuck all with them ONCE, but they did it to them TWICE when they bought ROH.
I got back into watching TNA again when they had the Honor No More storyline, but what really go me was seeing guys like Bandido and The Briscoes in TNA, only for TK to steal them and do fuck all with any of them.
Still will never forgive the Bucks for keeping Jay Briscoe off TV until he died.
In fairness, wasn't it the network that wanted the Jay Briscoe off TV?

I like AEW, I just don't like Tony Booking it. If he let Scott book it

Yeah, AEW might be real competition for once. Until something happens
to either Fix AEW or beat AEW and it's not WWE. All we are is stuck between
the ropes here. TNA is coming but, I feel they are cozying up too close to WWE.

There is no "if". AEW was founded - and only exists - for Tony to play "booker". He's not going to sit in the corner and let another kid play with his toys. Or let somebody else tell him how to play with his toys. It's an obscenely rich man's failson's hobby, not a business. It has a target audience of one. And that audience wants the "product" exactly the way it is.
