By the way, my family happens to be from Germany AND Spain. In Spain, my ancestors converted to Catholicism to survive. We are Sephardic. Which is why I specifically mentioned Spain and not Germany. Everyone already knows about Germany.

In the Spanish Inquisition was nowhere near as bad as people think, are the entire Inquisition about 12000 to 15000 people died. Sure you might say that's a big number but keep in mind the French Revolution killed more people in one month and the Moors killed more Spaniards in one week then the entire Spanish Inquisition.
The transition is the most misunderstood part of History, it's not what people think it's simply correcting people that are already Christians with a theology with studies and teachings. Most of the Inquisition deaths came from the secular government with many other reasons than religion.

The Philippines is a catholic country. During world war 2 our President Manuel Quezon saved a thousand plus Jews. But they were never forced to convert to Christianity.

We even claim it in every mass and prayer. I suggest you learn more of history and from the Catechism (which is a sum-up book of all doctrines that the Church teaches). Christianity is a religion because a religion is defined as the worship of a superhuman deity.
The Church didn't modify the Bible, in fact the Church compiled the Bible and the word "Bible" is a nomination from Pope Damasus I. Jesus didn't leave us a Bible behind, He left the Church, which then organized the Bible and by her authority the Church claimed them as inspired scripture by God's spirit. Martin Luther 1517 was the one who got rid of 7 books and thus first modified the Bible.
If you want to be a deign christian as Jesus told us to aspire to, I'd suggest you don't 1. Make divisions amongst christians 2. Claim unstudied and false truths. Remember, God's law says " Do not make any false witness", so don't prejudice us catholics without knowing not a thing about what we, the most ancient Christians believe and practice.
Catholic means Universal, Church means assembly (both from Greek). Jesus made us the promise to protect the Church, and don't you think Jesus lied because His promises never ever fall.

I spoke to a Franciscan friar back in the 90s who lived in Rome during the War. On the door of his friary, there was a Nazi notice attached by a dagger that gave them a precarious protection. The network of religious houses took huge risks to hide Jews within the walls. It was common place to give false birth certificates so as to facilitate their protection. The silence of Pope Pius XII was motivated by what happened in Holland when the Church speaking out led to an even bigger reaction from the Nazis. The Church had already made its view of Nazi ideology clear, under Pius XI by his issuing his encyclical Mit brennender Sorge which slammed the racial and nationalist ideology as idolatry. A full and fair judgement will come when historians finish studying the Vatican's internal records, which took years to index, due to their vast numbers.

The nation of Poland has been staunchly Roman-Catholic for over 1000 years, and for over 1000 years the Jewish people were freely allowed to practice their religion and engage in their traditions.

As a Jew, I agree with Bob’s historical premise (obviously not with his theological assertion) - there is no doubt that, despite centuries of terrible persecutions by Church and numerous expulsions , the Church and civilian christian authorities preserved and often saved the Jews in Europe. Bob’s opponents demonstrate terrible knowledge of history. Their level of knowledge is at the level of a person who has never opened a history book. Their arguments are incredibly ridiculous. An example with Maranos to demonstrate how Jews have denied the king of Spain doesn’t make any sense - clearly maranos stopped practicing Judaism, with a few exceptions. A few maranos kept their Judaism may be for a few generations l, but then assimilated. Columbus, as some may argue, was an example of a descendant of maranos.
