Felt saddler had less presence in this remake. Missed some of the codec exchanges between him and Leon. In fact I feel like it was a completely humourless remake. It lost some of its charm in service to playing everything straight. Only real improvement for me was fleshing out and developing salazar. Ada had no presence, Luis wasn't in the game as much as I'd thought he'd be. Anyone who has played hardcore or professional knows ashley is probably as bad if not worse than the original. Especially when you're trying to go for the time critical challenges. The unlock system is convoluted af and the costume selection on thr vanilla game is lacking. Leon moved like a body builder who can't reach around to his own back. He's sluggish and somehow stumbles all over the place just getting body checked by ganado grannies. At least the original games movements were precise and tight. Enemies also warp and spawn seemingly out of nowhere, my bet is capcom is using some trickery whenever enemies are outside of your peripheral vision. Felt saddler had less presence in this remake. Missed some of the codec exchanges between him and Leon. In fact I feel like it was a completely humourless remake. It lost some of its charm in service to playing everything straight. While I appreciated the scares and tension were ramped in some areas its still an action game, perhaps moreso than even the original.
I think the island section was worse than the original, anyone who played it on pro or hardcore knows they did not play test that section. Only real improvement for me was fleshing out and developing salazar. Ada had no presence, Luis wasn't in the game as much as I'd thought he'd be. Anyone who has played hardcore or professional knows ashley is probably as bad if not worse than the original. Especially when you're trying to go for the time critical challenges. The unlock system is convoluted af and the costume selection on thr vanilla game is lacking.
Leon moved like a body builder who can't reach around to his own back. He's sluggish and somehow stumbles all over the place just getting body checked by ganado grannies. At least the original games movements were precise and tight. Enemies also warp and spawn seemingly out of nowhere, my bet is capcom is using some trickery whenever enemies are outside of your peripheral vision.
