Hi Scott looking for suitable plants for south facing, steep banking. Speedy growing ground cover plants. We are in SW Scotland. ( New build garden so soil very poor.) Thanks
Geranium (cranesbill) and Vinca are a couple of plant types that will grow well on the bank and spread themselves over time and also provide colour that ivy wouldn’t.
Hey Scott. I enjoyed this. I have a spot in the garden under a wall that is shady, but already had a pile of soil from the previous owner. It’s not big (maybe 3 square metres). Would a rockery work in the shade or should it be in the sun? Thanks again for such a great video.
Hi, thanks and yes rockeries work anywhere it’s just a matter of adjusting the plant types. Shade lovers instead of full sun plants will be the choice.
Great job as always Scott 👍👍
Thanks mate
Work quality is like my prior landscaper and most plants didn’t do well
A few of these have been pulled out but it’s looking ok overall.
Hi long time since I have seen a rockery made nice tidy job
Yes they’re not very popular nowadays.

Hi Scott! Thanks for sharing. Did you use weed fabric at all?
No as this is on regular maintenance and we are also filling it with bulbs.
That looks lovely. Hopefully no one destroys it. Cheeky kids.
Time will tell😳
An update when the rockery is established would be nice 🙂
There will be one near the end of the season. Thanks for watching.

Bet you had 4 Weetabix thinking you had to manhandle the rocks😂💪
😂the grab certainly helped.
Is that really 20 tonnes of stone ?
Yes it was. The picture may be deceiving but it was a full load.
@scottellwoodgardening287 Yes, definitely deceiving. Nice job. Is alright to plant a rockery at this time of year?
Exciting to watch it grow up, hope the Ratbags leave it alone.
Hope so Nick.
