FINALLY people are trying to tell others about the show!! it's one of the best indie projects that i know of, and it it MEGA underrated and deserves WAAAAAAY more attention than it's getting! I don't have the money to directly financially support it, but i swear i will rewatch both the episodes over and over, not only to support Zeurel through views, but also because it's one of those series that you can rewatch over and over. Thank you for passing this show around, i can't speak for Zeurel but i'm sure it means a lot to him and his team!
Much better than Helluva which suffers from trying to be too edgy. Seriously, I’ve only heard teens learning to swear curse that much. And the jokes? Most are all about anatomy. Story wise it suffers too. This show, however, never fails to entertain me and love talking about it.

THIS. I've seen TONS of indie animations getting all the hype and fame, yet this gem of a show BARELY gets any attention! It's truly uspetting to see considering the characters, the visuals, the humor and LITERALLY everything looks so good and well done too!! I'm hoping this show gets successful in the long run cause MAN am I hooked!
I like that the audience for this show isn't batshit crazy. Sure Zeurel would love the money that I imagine Gooseworx and Glitch is making from just one video, but by that same token the hardest part of that series is no longer financing and animating it, it's dealing with fans and trolls who make being successful a living nightmare.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want this to get TOO popular because of that, but it definitely deserves at least a couple million views per episode, but I definitely don’t want it to be tarnished by the insane shippers or the gross content farms that make fetishy shit for children.
I'd honestly hate to see Zeurel get to that point, only because you can see how when Glitch got big, video production ended up being done solely for the money/views and the heart of the original channel has long been cut out of it. Funny how they made a video lampooning "content farms" when that's what THEY'VE become.
Yeah, those aspects of fandoms in general can be annoying (and I wouldn't be surprised that if Monkey Wrench did grow a bigger fandom then Zeurel would probably have to hire some people for crowd-control), but the problem with an animated series not getting a lot of attention is it could loose funding and/or the lone animator could crash-and-burn from the weight of animating an ambitious project. I give props to Zeurel for being an absolute GOAT and amazing animator for being able to handle all the projects he has, but it's sadly not uncommon for solo animators to struggle way more without support. There's a lot of detractors with fandoms existing, but there's also some positives as well - like fandoms being what provides an audience to begin with.
Huge respect for Zeurel for going it solo to avoid interference and premature cancellation among other things, the shop talk stream with Monkey Wrench and Lackadaisy was fun to watch.

Yeah, heck, after the latest episode came out the Monkey Wrench channel gained at least 30k subs, which still isn’t a lot but for a channel that has a smaller audience that’s a pretty good gain.

I think one of the biggest issues is that they started a brand new youtube channel for this rather than continuing to promote it on the official one with all of their previous animations. That's one way to split the audience and attention..

But the rest of the rabbit hole is his Newgrounds and his Deviantart if they're still there. "Lard Ass" is a Cheech and Chong bit, It's not a beta run for the characters. That said, he did have a one-off animation on his youtube back in 2011 or 12? Maybe 13. and a crossover animation for a tournament across his various universes. It had too many dated memes in it and it got taken down for other reasons. Don't recall what they were, but he wasn't too fond of it anyway and took it down might still be on Newgrounds. Regardless; Shrike and BB's been Josh's favorites among the smattering of characters for ages spanning some comics, animations, and streams and tonnes of fun discussions and convos at cons and meets. Palmer's creative mind is something I am GLOWING to see explored now that his favorite mercs have a show. Even more so there are references to his old work that old fans like me are curious if they've changed or what they're doing now. Josh earned this and I want it to propelled into fame.

I used to be a massive Star Wars fan, but I was very unhappy with how Disney was handling it and ended abandoning the franchise altogether. Watching Monkey Wrench for the first time brought back the feelings that I felt when I first watched Star Wars and I absolutely love the series

Because it's youtube and the market is oversaturated with animation projects trying to jump up to be the top. Most end up flopping and never get any more episodes and then you got popular ones like from Vizipop that get the wrong kind of attention from morons. It's tiring tbh
I'll be honest here...I feel Zeurel kinda blew it. That being said, I'm already enjoying the series and really hope it does well in spite of RUclips's BS algorithms. It's definitely a labor of love that beats out any/every other feature so far. But I could just do without the self-pitying whining, whether it's the cost of making an episode or needing to do more freelance work to finance it. Not to mention creating a whole new channel to strictly focus on while abandoning the one he'd established so long ago was, to me, a really bad idea. I understand its transparency from artist to fan, it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It's shades of Egoraptor and Glitch Productions all over again, where the pursuit of money overrides the artistry. Many of us independent artists need to finance our work one way or another, usually by having a day job and releasing our works when we know it's good and ready and when time allows. It sucks, but that's life, and I'm not sure he fully understands that. All you need to see his recent post about animating the "ten minutes we can afford" to see that. It's just childish bitching Not to mention the fans...too many just want to see his "Vargskeletoons" over this. Or him buddying up with questionable characters like Gooseworx and and aforementioned Glitch...
It's probably why I like this cartoon compared to your edgy hypersexual cartoons that depend on adult humor. It's simple scifi fun or two bounty hunters trying to make a living. With great humor and designs that make the show distinct and nostalgic of PS2 game.
I want to support this show so much because it's my personal favorite, but I'm kinda broke right now. As soon as I sort things out, I'll join the patreon.

He and his wife are incredibly talented animators :) This is a tiny nitpick and I don’t know how many people would mind, but it’s not Shriek, it’s Shrike. The ending without the animation of the context of the characters also kind of... isn’t great. Especially in current era I wouldn’t separate that joke from its context, it frames both the animators and the show poorly :/ that was literally 10 years ago

I remember trying to follow these characters from the start. There was an animator colosseum battle that they were a part of that is hard to find. Has some more interesting backgrounds on the characters.

Because it's youtube and the market is oversaturated with animation projects trying to jump up to be the top. Most end up flopping and never get any more episodes and then you got popular ones like from Vizipop that get the wrong kind of attention from morons.

I'll be honest here...I feel Zeurel kinda blew it.
That being said, I'm already enjoying the series and really hope it does well in spite of RUclips's BS algorithms. It's definitely a labor of love that beats out any/every other feature so far.
But I could just do without the self-pitying whining, whether it's the cost of making an episode or needing to do more freelance work to finance it. Not to mention creating a whole new channel to strictly focus on while abandoning the one he'd established so long ago was, to me, a really bad idea. I understand its transparency from artist to fan, it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It's shades of Egoraptor and Glitch Productions all over again, where the pursuit of money overrides the artistry.
Many of us independent artists need to finance our work one way or another, usually by having a day job and releasing our works when we know it's good and ready and when time allows. It sucks, but that's life, and I'm not sure he fully understands that. All you need to see his recent post about animating the "ten minutes we can afford" to see that. It's just childish bitching
Not to mention the fans...too many just want to see his "Vargskeletoons" over this. Or him buddying up with questionable characters like Gooseworx and and aforementioned Glitch...
It's probably why I like this cartoon compared to your edgy hypersexual cartoons that depend on adult humor.
It's simple scifi fun or two bounty hunters trying to make a living. With great humor and designs that make the show distinct and nostalgic of PS2 game.
I want to support this show so much because it's my personal favorite, but I'm kinda broke right now. As soon as I sort things out, I'll join the patreon.

The kids today have no accounting for taste. That's why. They just go with what's popular, and 9 times out of 10 it's soulless trash, like Digital Circus and anything Glitch has their mitts in.

Out of all the relatively new indie animated series, I find I'm most interested in how Monkey Wrench will turn out. Something about it speeks to me, in a deeper way.

I just checked this out this weekend and I’m dumbfounded how long it took me to discover it. This show has such a strong confidence in itself. I’m hoping everyone who follows Helluva, Lackadaisy, GLITCH, gets around to finding this.
I come back to this video months later, I feel like in roughly a year (I hope not more) It's going to get good traction then people are going to come back to a video loke this and say "why didn't this show get the support and attention it deserved?"

ITS SUPER UNDERATED. legit prob the best indie animated show in my eyes, the world build is so creative and the characters feel like they are straight out of a Saturday morning show, i love it so much but no one has reviewed or talked about it :(( i wish more people would look at it and support it

Okay its because he took it off his main channel and all the episodes then moved them to a new channel so youtubs algorithm prolly isnt putting it out it used to have way more views which is a shame it lost all of those

This is a tiny nitpick and I don’t know how many people would mind, but it’s not Shriek, it’s Shrike.
The ending without the animation of the context of the characters also kind of... isn’t great. Especially in current era I wouldn’t separate that joke from its context, it frames both the animators and the show poorly :/ that was literally 10 years ago

I remember seeing that video "lardass" don't know if I ever saw any more of this person's work but I'll check this out. The absolute sea of content both made with love or dumped out of a industrial faucet I find it surprising that anyone can find anything here.

The characters are so loveable and funny. Like, ACTUALLY funny! The soundtrack is so good and gets u more immersed in the show, and the animation is so clean and beautiful!!!

It's great to finally see someone talking about this brilliant cartoon, it's amazingly animated and the two episodes we have are structured really well with basically everything, animation, voice acting, story, humour etc
I remember trying to follow these characters from the start. There was an animator colosseum battle that they were a part of that is hard to find. Has some more interesting backgrounds on the characters.
