    Just installed a new Victron system & lithium bank in my 5th wheel, everything was pretty easy except for the MultiPlus2 - I watched many videos on 'how to' program the MultiiPlus, your video is hands down the best on a straightforward walk thru what's required when running lithium batteries !! Thanks for your time and effort in making this video, I really appreciate you :)

    Question concern @11:00 , why would your system struggle to run an A/C while charging? Our Multiplus prioritizes loads over charging, it only charges with excess wattage that isn’t being used by load no matter what the charge rate is set at. Why would this inverter prioritize charging over AC loads? That doesn’t make any sense.
    Instead of changing the charge current, wouldn’t be easier to lower “Input Limit” to say 25 amp so it would never pull close to 30amp on a 30 amp breaker? Then system should run A/C and only charge battery with whats left.

    DVCC on your GX device allows you to reduce the charge rate below the setting in the MP2.

    Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
    2 quick questions, in the bench test you did, if you were to disconnect the battery from the inverter to then install it, would you lose the settings that you've programmed? If not, is there a BIOS built into the inverter that runs off of watch batteries or something similar to retain the programmed info? Thanks again.

      @rvsolarconcepts  21 день назад

      I don't know the details of how exactly it retains the programming, but yes, even after disconnecting the battery it does retain that information. That being said, I always reconnect and double check all of the setting after final installation anyways.

    Thanks very much, for an already installed system with 48 battery bank system connected to 3 multiplusII parallel, do i have to reprogram àll 3 inverters if I'm to change the battery bank to lithium ion(51.2V each)?

    • @rvsolarconcepts
      @rvsolarconcepts  18 дней назад

      @rasheedapusiga1438 you should be able to push the settings to all 3 inverters at once. You'll want to make sure they are all setup correctly if you plan on using all of them as charging sources for sure.

    Hi, quick question relative to your comment about the charge current limit and possibly tripping a breaker on the pedestal. Say for example you have the Shore Limit set to 30 amps (for an RV plugged into a 30 amp outlet) for the AC input current limit and you have a 10 amp load running in an RV. Wouldn't the multiplus limit the charge current to 20 amps while charging the batteries as to not exceed the 30 limit set for the available input thereby tripping the breaker?
    Thanks!

    • @rvsolarconcepts
      @rvsolarconcepts  13 дней назад

      @mattkeechle960 sorry for the late reply! But yes that is essentially what should happen but if the pedestal breaker is old and weak you may have to tweak the setting a bit.

    How does the Multiplus II hold on to the programming? Do you have to have constant power to the unit? What will happen if you turn off power to it?

    • @rvsolarconcepts
      @rvsolarconcepts  4 месяца назад

      Once it is programed it is saved. Even if you completely unhook it from battery power it will retain the last parameters that were put in.

    hi, thanks for the video. question i have is: is there any way to bypass the inverter in case of a failure, charger failure, battery failure?

    • @rvsolarconcepts
      @rvsolarconcepts  8 месяцев назад

      Good Question!
      That is probably the only down side to an inverter charger that has a built in transfer switch. Because all of the AC power is run through the inverter first, if the unit catastrophically fails in any way or if you have a battery bank failure, the power to the RV is no longer useable. This will be the case for generator and shore power as both sources are run through the inverter before making it to the main breaker panel in the RV.
      Even in cases when the inverter itself is functional, if the batteries have an issue or are completely depleted the inverter can't turn on without a 12V input signal available so you'd be in the same position there too. These are great products that have a very specific need in this market but they do have a few drawbacks in the event that you have a failure.
