The Reds celebration came from Cessa thinking Fraley looked like a viking and the team kind of just went all in and the guys love it. This new culture is so refreshing.
It also kind of makes sense because of legendary viking Erik the Red
Agree, it’s so refreshing. It may not have a tie to the city, but the fact the team goes all out with it- with the fur cape and the sword being presented at the end of the dugout- makes it amazing
I love it.
@James Esterline MLB missed this on their list which was really disappointing
i didnt know it was cessa, i dont pay much attention to him because he is the worst
I’m not a Padres fan but the Polaroid celebration is by far my favorite. Especially if they end up doing something cool with all the photos
They've been doing it since last year. They also now have a sombrero they wear and every time they win they have a pinata they break open in the clubhouse
Actually with the Polaroids since it started last season at fanfest this year season ticket owners got a book full of a collection of the Polaroids and some of the og Polaroids a sold for charity
The Padres were the ones who started all of this (I think) with that ridiculous chain thing they had a couple of seasons ago.
Season ticket holders got a collection book of all the Polaroids from last season with the story behind them
@@drdan75 No the Padres did NOT start HR celebrations. It was around long before the cringey swag chain.
The Padres started the Polaroids last year and all the pictures were in the clubhouse that they later sold the collection of photos as a picture book. Plus they have the sombrero now with the piñata postgame after a win. It’s elite vibes
The Braves big hat was only there because a young fan gave it to Austin Riley in our home opening series. So they started wearing it to honor the little kid
A.J. Minter, but correct otherwise
@@notahouse2008 my bad, I heard about the kid in one of Austin Riley’s post game interviews so I assumed he was given it
AJ Minter but your right on the backstory
That’s cute, it still sucks 😂
To bad they banned it
Boston's home run cart will always be my favorite
Way better than the lame inflatable dumbells this season.
They should swap out the cart with a dumpster this year.
What about both? You riding on a cart and lifting dumbells.
Padres new sombrero just fits because it was a spur of the moment thing, Tatis was exploring Mexico City and saw a sombrero and just bought it. They then were like “hey let’s use it as a home run celebration” they also hit piñatas after wins
It makes me sad that Marc doesnt appreciate the significance of the Red Wings helmet in a city dubbed "Hockeytown" Detroit deserves better
Edit: The next thing Marc says is how he like the Twins Celebrations because it's "Original, Creative, and it matches up with your City and state." C'mon man
Minnesota more of a hockey state than michigan
Thought the same thing like damn, we cant even get appreciation for our home run celly 😭😭
@@AlexWin22 how many cups do the wild and north stars have?
Detroit is HOCKEYTOWN 11 cups Russian five Stevie Y mrhockey Detroit is hockeytown
@@AlexWin22we aren’t talking high school and under though 🤡
Putting Pittsburgh anywhere but elite is crazy to me! They got the sword from a fan so to me that adds a level of connection with the city. Then they pull out an imaginary sword for big moments like Rbis, doubles, triples, even hrs while they are rounding third. Maybe I am biased but I like that it’s not too over the top and could hold up for longer than just a season without getting too corny. The only thing I’d like to see is a walk the plank sort of situation!
That's the best one by far
The brewers one comes from AJ Dillon, he’s become a full fledged brewer fan since being on the packers and he brought a cheesehead for the team and Willy Adames used it during the game and it kind of just became a part of the team, I think the story makes it a lot cooler
I thought the tigers' hockey stick was cooler than he thought it was, he's mad about the sweep😐
i’m a braves fan and i have no clue what he’s talking about when he talked about us doing “culturally insensitive” stuff. like literally the braves have the support of the native american community and in the stadium they have a section for the history of the team and native americans. also on the mlb app there’s a native american community tab on the braves section. but he’s a new yorker so i’m not surprised he said some stuff like that
The Braves also have showcase games for young Native American players. Atlanta does more positive things for that community than any other MLB team.
@@JVJsports thank you.
@@JVJsports yep they just had some recently or are fixing to
@@SWWonders I think the next one is during the all star break
Similar situation, Florida State never used any cartoonish Native Americans--they celebrated the Seminole tribe's history
The first one, the padres swag chain is easily the best one it really started the homerun celebration trend
In this new surge of celebrations it has, but if you remember back in 2014 Dodgers had a bubble machine after home runs, but MLB made them stop using it :/
In 2018 and 2019 is the Astros did the Alex Bregman stair as well as the hugs for homers whenever someone hit a home run
Remember when the Stros did the banging on the trashcan for home runs?
@@mattbere8290 lmao 😂
@@mattbere8290 yeah remember that sometimes they did it even before they hit a home run. Got a little ahead of themselves.
The mariners trident is so cool especially when you know the location and the logo history
I thought the M’s trident was pretty sick. Literally the Julio pose with the trident when they first unveiled it could be the cover of a magazine.
Also would love to see a tier list for broadcast teams!
The blue Jays manager told his players after the season that he didn't want to see the home run jacket anymore as he wanted them to focus on the game . He also didn't want his players to try to hit home runs to wear the jacket as that can lead to more strikeouts and agressiveness at the plate
I wish every manager did this.
they actually are stinking more without it tbh
You can actually buy the homer hose online. And you can call it the dong bong, but we labeled it the homer hose because the point is that when your playing backyard wiffleball, you would get a drink from the hose when thirsty, which is where the sprinklers tie into. We turn on the faucet for singles, do the sprinklers for doubles and triples, and then you get your drink from the homer hose on a homer. It’s all pretty awesome. Times are great in Baltimore.
THe Samurai helmet celebration + night game = Vibes
Since the Mexico City series the Padres have added a sombrero and maracas to the Polaroid.
RADIO ANNOUNCERS PLEASE! The orioles have amazing announcers
Padres actually wear the Sombrero that they started in Mexico and also take a Polaroid
The home run celebrations are probably my least favorite aspect about the game I’ve loved my whole life. To see grown men turn into a little league girls softball team was not something I thought would ever happen. I guess it’s the social media era
Fraley has a background from the Anglo Saxons you can also buy a Viking helmet in the gift shop
Marc, you should do each team's radio announcer tier list
Padres have Sombrerro too and they get included in Polaroids
The Angels, because they involve the bullpen. Every relief pitcher keeps an arm in the air for their kabuto chop until the HR hitter re-emerges and gives them a chop, in which case they chop and return to their seats.
I agree with most of these but I think the Cheese Head should've been moved up because it has so much significance in WI, it has more relevance than the Angels Samurai helmet and the Cheese Head also matches the Brewers uniform. Also forgot to mention after the homer the Brewers go and ring the cowbell. Not elite but i think it's better than you give it credit, also look up how many other teams have copied the cheese head in professional sports and you'll be surprised how much reach it has.
Also the first Cheesehead debuted AT A BREWERS GAME. Then it was made popular by the centerfielder at the time. Has more meaning than people think to the Brewers
The angels also do I salute from the bullpen as well.
Padres started doing the sombrero and maracas too from their time in Mexico that got them started
As an A's fan, I would like to see a tier list for owners so you can trash John Fisher and place him in F- tier
Tbh I'm a bit annoyed by teams who didn't take obvious choices. The Angels while cool really are doing it for Ohtani not to leave (they are the angels, a western team not Japans baseball team) while the Royals went gladiator when a crown or royal cape was right there (still go hard though). Also the Angels are doing a chopping motion in the bullpen on home runs so if thats a sword, again odd but if not they stole the chop from the Braves 😅.
I’m pretty sure that the gladiator helmet was the backup plan after the Royals’ crown arrived dented
I love the Tigers celebration🤩. It’s so unique and fun, top 3 celly imo.
Crazy to think if not for jose Fernandez (Rip) pimping home runs and strikeouts or Boston shopping cart ride we wouldn't be here today as those started it all 😅.
That’s definitely Maximus’ helmet from gladiator in KC
As a biased Angels fan, I love the helmet one, but the GOAT one is the shopping cart Red Sox celebration back in the 2021 playoffs
Marc is so desperate for new ranking videos that he has now gone to home run celebrations for content (still a good video)
The Reds celebration came from Luis Cessa thinking Jake Fraley looked like a Viking, and the team agreed. And the funny part, they actually broke there first one, and I think in the picture Elly De La Cruz was holding the broken off horn😂😂 but I love it, you love, everyone loves it, including the Reds.
Robbie Hyde W
Bro disrespected my brewers🥲 but the samurai is elite and the best one on there
Imagine the Astros with and Astronaut Helmet and a flag after a homerun. I think that would be sick
Love the Homer hose Or Hydration Station.
I had no idea the Padres changed their celebration, and it is by FAR my favorite! As you said, the fact that they're creating a catalogue of memories really reminds the public that athletes are people, too, and not just for our entertainment. 'ELITE'!
As far as the Brewers, I know it's a nod to the Packers, but it's boring and unoriginal. & yeah it's too late, but I wish the Brewers were the team to introduce the "beer" bong celebration. Missed opportunity! The cheese hat belongs in 'Meh'.
Marc-
Brewers wear silly hat: “hahaha funny cute”
Braves wear silly hat: “I hate it, those racists”
My favorite by far is the land of 10,000 rakes absolutely amazing
White Sox gives me blues brothers vibes. I don’t think it’s a mafia thing. It’s going along with the blue brothers look
No it’s 100% a mob thing. Al Capone and prohibition specifically
M's trident has a direct connection to Seattle's original logo and maritime history, it's a perfect fit. The trident is a weapon that can easily destroy those other props, especially Boston's plastic inflatable dumbbells. The trident rules all.
they should take Polaroids, sign them and hand them to the fans between innings! that would be so sick !
We need a stadium tier list PLEASE
I was wondering which celebration you would choose for the Padres they got the Polaroid the chain the goose and now a Sombrero
Can you bring back the weekly power rankings
Luis cessa thought Fraley looked like a Viking so the team got the costume, then they found a flimsy bat in their spring training facility and just brought it back to act as a sword
I’m pretty sure the powdered wigs were to cover up syphilis 😂
The Mariners not being Elite when they have a giant custom made trident is a crime. Most of these other celebrations are just the guys going out and buying something thats readily available. (Although the Braves one was kinda cool cuz a young fan made it and threw it at a member of the team)
Marienrs swellmet, makes it all come together
I'm dying laughing from the nationals celebration
The Royals mask is a nod to the film Gladiator. came out in 2000 starring Russell Crowe. It won 5 Oscars and was Best Picture of the year. Great film if you've never seen it before.
Marc is def salty that the Tigers swept the Mets
The cubs need a celebration
There’s nothing different from the angels and the nationals or brewers, and with the nationals and brewers theirs at least tie into the team and state rather than one player.
The reason the Jays aren’t doing it anymore is because they needed to be more mature, they want to focus more on winning not on doing cellys
South side jacket and hat is a nod to Al Capone who ran the bootlegger business out of the south side of Chi in prohibition. It’s also very in touch with the city connects, better than Meh
Unpopular Opinion: The Boston Home Run Cart was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen
So the baltimore Orioles can literally have a drinking prop but the 2014 dodgers couldn’t have a bubble machine Mlb wtf
Julio with the
Trident 🔱
I have an idea for a home run celebration for the Indians. Everytime someone hits a home run, they grab a drumstick and bang a drum the same amount of times as runs scored in thay homer. A tribute to the legendary John Adams
Bro is so salty that the Tigers blew his poverty team out of the water he really called the home run celebration meh and went to diss the power of the team. Like bro when your team becomes good then start talking.
the brewers infinity gauntlet is top tier as well, wish they would've kept that along with the cheese head
The white Sox stole the bluejays home run jacket it's hilarious
With the reds Cessna thought Jake Fraley looked like a Vikings so they decided to do a Vikings helmet and fur cape
Tigers hockey celebration is definitely Better than meh
as a reds fan its fun to be talk about in videos
Dawg, the Braves name has been approved by the Cherokee tribe. It’s a term of endearment for them because they were BRAVE.
Land of 10,000 Rakes goes hard 🔥
Loving the content as of late
The samurai hat is a great home run celebration
I love these! Hope this becomes a tradition
Are you actually Juan Soto if so big fan
@@MDmayottes nah I wish I could say no to $400 mil
Such a miss with the Braves viewpoint
I think the reds made the celebration after Eric Davis being called Eric the Red after the Viking and now use that as a home run celebration
white sox mafia in meh??? are you kidding me? as a tigers fan, that's a top 5 celebration right there, looks sick
Exactly. Whole list is questionable
I cant fathom why he would put that dorky polaroid Padres over the Pirates sword.
brooo I had never seen the orioles one and that is definitely so elite lol. I was literally about to comment how I actually think all of these are lame and not really any more fun than just getting hyped cuz like whatever you put a jacket or hat on... but Orioles changed my mind lol they got the only really fun one
Whomever decides to have a SHREDDER Helmet as a Home Run Helmet, I’ll root for that team.
As a White Sox fan. I agree with you Mark. If I’m going to watch 162 bad games. I wish the celebration was better
(Unless Robert Jr wears it. He looks so f’n cool)
Teams bad but that celebration is elite Marc is trippin
Giraffe can you tell me how to trade cards in Sorare because Trea Turner gives me negative points almost every week
Along with the Sprinkler thing the Orioles now spray the fans in one section with a water gun when they get an extra basehit.. its awesome.
When I saw the "big hat" pictures, I immediately thought of North Korean soldiers. Little guys in really big hats.
Philly thumbs up. simple, classy, super fun to watch. Angry ass nick castellanos doin his lil thumbs up to the dugout just makes me smile
I’m an orioles fan and their celebration is very fun for the team and the fans
Dong bong supremacy
They had a lot of the fishing vest as the twins win 11-1 and it was fishing home opener
Jays started this whole home run celly thing
The Padres sold a Polaroid book from 2022 at fanfest and all season ticket holders got one too. The padres also have the sombrero and Rey Mysterio masks.
The cheesehead originated in Milwaukee at Brewers games. So while it is more known to be worn by fans at Packers games, the cheesehead fits well with the Brewers.
Ty France said on a local sports radio show that if the Mariners get in another brawl then expect to see the Trident in the brawl
Believe it or not but the Cheesehead actually originated with the Brewers. It was first spotted in a 1980s Brewer game before we got the Cheeseheads today in Green Bay
Not a reds fan but I think the connection is the Viking Eric the Red
pizza delivery guy for the white sox would be ELITE
i’m so dang mad!! the jays completely cut off the whole home run jacket thing bc it’s “not professional” like be so for real right now. THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE SOME FUN 😭
I promise you, they still have plenty of fun. but they needed to dial it back, plus Lourdes and Teo are gone so the originators of the jacket are no longer together.
@@DcLN- ohhh i never knew they created it!
The royals celebration looks like an homage to the movie Gladiator with Russel Crowe when he gives his ultimate revenge quote to the emperor who betrayed and killed his wife and kid
me personally...I prefer the Cart, but the macho man dumbells are also elite
My favorite is the dong bong, I love it.
