Would love to see a Melee tournament for various non-smash online influencers. They each get a pro and training time before competing in a charity. It's a proven formula and I think Melee would be sick

@@AshROAosu 2 issues I see with that are 1. low level melee can be a bit boring to watch, and 2. the skill floor to be able to just move well can take months to learn so it may not be feasible for this kind of event.

I suppose if you really think about the meta of it technically the Fox could try its best to bait down smashes from peach to get openings and focus on aerial shines then ground shines as a follow up once that opening happens. I think frame data wise fox has the advantage just because of that, the fox just has to play very carefully.

well i used to main fox back in melee, by the time I was 13 I was up smashing everyone into the air with relative ease, literally became a subconscious reflex.
Would be interesting if you added in grab as well, cause one of the things I've heard people complain about with shine is that shine grab is really busted (if shine hits shield you just get a grab).
Luigi is probably the worst character you could possibly play for this contest since his slipperiness makes it so getting shined can put him off stage from center.
This video only convinced me that peach's downsmash is the best move in the game Like imagine if that was lloD. lloD only allowed to use down smash vs moky only allowed to use shine. It wouldn't be close. Charlie would've won several times over if he just knew how to grab the ledge
I'd rather deal with 100 shine spamming foxes than have to fight another Latency Ganondorf spamming fast fall jab. At least shine requires you to use a motion input to be applicable, that's why Captain Falcon's jab is so fucked up. You either fight a frame 1 jab Falcon or a Falcon praying that crouch cancel works so they can hold A like a Luigi that doesn't know how to contest mid-air.
The Luigi games are giving me Project M flashbacks to when I first started out. I feel like every Luigi main gets gimped a million times by Fox before learning to gimp Fox a million times. Without his wavedash he's pretty neutered tho.
