At just a hair under 6'5" I'm a giant in Hollywood. Though I never worked with any stars I've actually done a bit of stage, TV and movie acting and always towered over everyone. Funny how some of these guys looks much taller on screen and other seem shorter than listed. Was especially surprised to see how short Danny Trejo is, I thought he was closer to 6'. But Hollywood has lots of tricks such as they had taller actresses standing a lowered spot next to George Raft. One thing that is famous for sparking a style trend was Barbara Feldon's slouch because she was taller than Don Adams in Get Smart. But that actually caused her spinal damage and life long pain.
They aren't. There's a lot of pressure on male actors to look tall because many places associate height with attractiveness in men. In case you are not aware 5'6 to 5'11 is the average human height for men. You being 5'9 is not average for a woman. The normal average height for Women is around 4'10 to 5'5 depending on your origins. My girl is 5'7 and I'm only a bit taller, around 5'10 and she's very happy 😊. Also a person who's 5'9 isn't short, it's called normal, beyond that it's called tall and if you are even more beyond that you're a giant. Also I Don't believe that height matters that much unless you're a professional basketball player.
Jim Caviezel should have been on the list. He's 6 foot 2 inches. Played the part of Jesus in Passion of the Christ an had a great tv. series in Persons of Interest with Michael Emerson (5 foot 8 inches) who played one of the most 'bad' men in t.v. history, Ben Linus.
Chances of a malnourished, desert-dwelling Jew on a nutrition-deficient diet reaching 6 foot 2 inches 2000 years ago is a very long stretch in likelihood.
@@PhantomFilmAustralia I don't think Mary Joseph were all that poor, given Joseph was a carpenter and that was a needed skill back then. And Jesus, once he became noticed and had a following - he probably ate well too, with the gifts and places to sleep and eat that were offered to him by his followers. But by then, he was a grown man. I doubt too, that he was 6 foot 2inchs...but I also doubt he was a short person either. And again, I think that growing up, he probably ate well, and the food in that area, even back then would have had: Meat, from goats (milk/cheese too) and sheep. A good variety of fish. Fruits: dates, pomegranates, grapes/wine and figs, olives/olive oil and honey. They had wheat, barely, and legumes, so they had basics to make breads and stews/soups. If the Bible is right, Mary and Joseph had the money to get an inn...but there was no room. They were not in that stable because they were poor. Also, the wise men gave them some pretty expensive gifts...that could have been sold for a lot of money. And with a skilled laborer as the head of the house...again, I think Jesus didn't grow up in a home that was near poverty level. They probably weren't rich but I bet they could afford a diet with variety of food, which would help a child grow taller and stronger than those eating less, lesser quality and of less variety of food. Also, I think Gibson wanted an actor who was a believer, which is hard to find in Hollywood. Jim Caviezel fit the bill, even if technically he might have been taller than most Hebrews of that era.

Tom Cruise is not 170 cm! (Maybe 165-166)
You got Robert Redford WRONG!
It always amazes me how short most actors are. I am 64, and I think there were a couple of guys under 5’10” majority 5’11” to 6’2”. Maybe in the Great Plains we grow them taller. Husband 6’2”, son 6’ 2 1/2” daughter 5’9”. Even at church I think there are a few short men, but most 5’11”-6’6”.
Average height for men in the U.S. and U.K. is 5'9" for women it's 5'3".
people talking about their height have about the same credibility as fishermen
@ haha….not in this case but I can see your point
Some real surprises here.
I knew Danny Devito was short, but I didn't know he was sub-5foot.
I didn't know Danny Trejo was a shorty
Conversely, I always thought Ryan Gosling was a little guy
Same with Bill Murray. I always thought he was around 5' 8"
I like Peter Dinklage, even though he is not tall.
Not bragging but I was 6 ft in the 8th grade, leveled out at 6'3" but I never understood why short guys had to over compensate.
That's like a rich person saying "Money isn't everything" or a guy with a full head of hair saying "Being bald is no big deal"
You for sure compensate in some other way. If you like women, you may have noticed how they prefer taller guys 99% of the time
I went out with a man that was 5'2 .
Turns out he was well compensated in other areas! There is no problem in my opinion with different looking folks. I don't mind if they are bald, fat, short, tall or thin.
What does count, is what's in their heads.❤
Really? You don’t know why? My father was 6‘3“, his father was 7‘2“, and I ended up at 6‘6“ height has always been preferred among men, and though I don’t know why, taller men are often seen as more intelligent. I’m pretty smart, IQ of 156, but I can’t pass a physics class to save my life.
DeNiro is 5'9" when you count his Ego and the chip on his shoulder.
@@coupureetsaignement IYKYK
@@coupureetsaignement IDK so I think, you should try it.
Didn't realize they could stack it that high.
@@timsutterby9899 never underestimate a wokie.
😂😂😂😂
Judging from the comments, this list is totally worthless.
I've seen Steven Seagal and he is NOT that tall. I'm 5'6" and I could look him in the eyes.
There are a lot of shrimpy guys in Hollywood!
I'm 6'3 and he came to my chin so probably 5'11 or so. He's 6'5 around
So if you are a short man, head to Hollywood and become an actor! Lol
Reading the comments sounds like a lot of actors have lied about their height.
😱
No surprise there!! 🤩
Brad Pitt is at least 6 ft, taller than Leo DiCaprio.
Pitt is 5'11 not 6ft. Leo is 6ft.
Tom Cruise is BARELY 5'.
Russell Crowe is under 6 ft. Tall
Danny Trejo, who "through" most of his movies he looked like he was at least over 6 or 7 😮 crazy how most of these great actors looked like they were much taller 😳 🤔 👌 😂 off by one word "through" not "threw" woah !!! 😳 🤣 🤔 😂
@brianellis6517
.I was surprised at the number of actors in there that I was sure they were much taller/
I thought he was huge!
That's Hollywood
Cillian Murphy is not 5 ft 7..he'd 6ft easy
Clint Eastwood is 94 years old now and have terrible posture but he can't be more than 6´1" today. In his prime he could have been 6´4" or close to that.
Jet Lee needs hair & Martin Short is 5'7 😂😂😂
If you look up the real records a lot of them are
much shorter 🤔
I had no idea Tim Robbin’s was so tall.
John Cena us NOT 6ft 1 inch. What a joke!
Ryan Gosling is six foot in stripper heels
That was my thought too. No way in hell that dude is a hair over 5' 9"
You forgot Charlie Hunnam, 6'1 English actor model and Travis Fimmel 6' Australian actor and model.
Great
Most actors are short.
Somebody is exaggerating!
You need to do another one of these about heights, because you forgot Raymond Burr, Robert Conrad, Christopher Plummer, Sonny Bono, John Schneider, John (Duke) Wayne, Tom Wombat, James Best, Sorrell Booke, Jackie Gleason, Carroll O'Connor, Robin Williams, Rob Reiner, Carl Reiner, Sherman Hemsley, Mike Evans, John Amos, Martin Landau Michael J. Fox, Robert Pine, Martin Milner, Kent McCord, Erik Estrada, Larry Wilcox, Tom Bosley, John Forsythe, Larry Hagman, Tim Conway, Alan Alda, and others of older generations of Yesteryear..
I think it is confined to actors who were still living when it was drawn up.
Makes you realize how many great actors we have had, and how many great rolls, and all with interesting faces.
No. This isn't "real" at all. You just took the propaganda. Channel blocked.
Blimey, Redford looks like he should be six feet... under!
Redford is short! More like 5ft
6 at best..so l is Paul Newman
Saw him in person 😂😂😂😂
Also about 5ft plus
Yes - wish he'd get real and let his hair go grey.
Stallone is about 5'3" at most stood next to him
That's why Cromwell played Stretch Cunningham on "All in the Family" 😂
Whawww! The are so short! Never noticed that in a movie!
I had no idea Keanu was so tall! I thought he was like 5'9"! Lol
The only celebrity height that this video got right.
I always thought Woody Harrelson was way taller. Same for Michael Douglas. On the other hand, Russell Crowe never appeared to me to be almost 6 feet.
Some of these men were shorter than I thought, and some were taller than I thought. Very interesting.
Didn’t see GUTFELD!! He’s like 3’1/2”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻🙈👍🏻🇺🇸
he is not an actor
Mel Gibson is an Australian actor
He was born in NY State
He still has that (with all due respect) ‘twang’, aye? Loved Mad Max!!
Chris Hemsworth I can believe.
Clint Walker 6' 6"
Actors heights are always exaggerated, Clint Eastwood is 5ft 9, John Wayne was 5ft 10, etc
@stevecameron1879 interesting, I have read from multiple sources that have said when Clint was younger he was around 6'3" obviously now being as he's 93 years old he's under 6' I just never heard anyone saying he was that short before.
I'm 5'5", this was helpful for me.
🇺🇸🌟🇺🇸 Clint is probably around 5 feet now 🤣
This was a fun video to speculate on. Perception of height can be misleading. Mamoa l99ks small if standing next th Shaq
I never would have thought that Leonardo Decaprio was six feet. I thought he was short.
Wishful heights..
Reach for the stars!!!! And you won’t reach far.
Corrections- Kevin hart 5.2 , Sly Stallone 5.7, mel Gibson 5.6, Dolph lundgren 6.6., Alec Baldwin 5.9.Robert Dinero 5.7.!!!!!!
