The Deora was always one of my favorite cars and the camper body looks great on it. You did an excellent job on it and the copper finish was a good idea. Thanks for sharing this.
I remember building one of these back in the 1960s, during a summer with my grandparents. I clearly recall a big yellow run of spray paint dripping down the left front fender, & how frustrated I was with myself. Can't recall the manufacturer, but it didn't come with the camper. I didn't do too many car kits, but stuck more toward aircraft.
I have a built up one on my shelf that I got back in the 80’s. Just the pickup version with a tonneau cover. Have never seen the camper shell version, glad you didn’t have to cut the side of the bed to make it fit.
Hi, Dr. Doug. Whatta concept. Thanks for the tutorial. Once again, very nice work, great model. You kick ass. In the beginning of the video, you show us these bags containing yellow plastic pieces but then, suddenly, this beautiful model appears. Wow! You are an inspiration. It takes a lot of work to produce a great model like this one. The paint job on the body is wicked awesome. Damn!!! Thanks for sharing your skills with us. All my best. Your friend Lou.
Building this kit now, doing box top-ish. Painting it Inca Gold with a clear coat. Not a bad kit but body parts fit was tough. Front windshield frame in my kit was reverse twisty twist. Just glued it straight on. Going to use the mag rims but uograde the tires to newer AMT types.
Amazing, never even knew the model or car exited. Out of all the years I called myself a car buff, all the magazines I've read, chiltons books, hobby shops I have never once seen it. That would seem crazy to most but I would remember such a design. However the only time that I could call myself seeing it a hot wheels version but thought it was a SciFi or futuristic version. Great job though. Really like the way you narrate your video build.
My brother had this kit recently, but he sadly threw it away because the included gold acrylic paint didnt properly set and when he tried to wash it off it was stuck to the body indefinatly. I still have the instruction book though.
Right On Replicas My brother moved out so i never knew that he had the kit because he got it between the times i visited him (about a month to a month and a half). He still had the box though. You should review a Tamiya tank kit next like the M4 Sherman.
This COOL! It'd be really cool set up like the Little Red Wagon. Too bad there's no kit, or atleast that I know, of Ed Roth's Mega Cycle and Wishbone. :(

10c, A word to the wise ONLY use fresh paint and Yes, stripping paint off off of a model is a science in itself. Sorry to hear that! -Doug
