You know, going in I didn’t expect this to make me cry, then that first ‘riff’ (I don’t know music terms like, at all, the second melody 10-15 seconds in after the opening notes) hit, and I felt the tears welling up.
I can't explain why it happens nor can I control it but my body just tightens and cries when I hear this music, heart races, stomach is in knots. But it's beautiful
Honestly, I know what you mean. It reminds me of when I heard the piano collection of Someday the Dream Will End. Certain melodies in piano are just................ ugh.
If the feeling is the same as mine, maybe I can put it to words. It's like... a kind of melancholic nostalgia. You saw something in that area that at one time was in its full glory, but is now no more, and even though it is in a fictitious game world full of magic and fantasy, it's familiar to us, here, in the real world; a gilded age of what seemed like limitless possibility over a century ago, before war and destruction took it all away. The song just oozes with that nostalgia.
