I cut back on Iodine specifically to discourage coralline algae growth, it just builds up everywhere, competes with corals for minerals and trace elements, and it just clogs up your equipment but hey, it looks cool.
Yes I have been dosing iodine to get more coraline growth. Agree it can clog up gear that what maintenance is for. I love the look of it 😊. I keep all my elements in check and minerals :) Thanks for checking out my video Jake.
Coralline algae never really took off in my first tank, but after having it in abundance in tank # 2, I tend to agree with Reef Builders in that it just becomes another thing to maintain. Tank #2 was an all-in-one with panoramic viewing, so it was difficult to clean the curved corners. I also scratched the false wall in the back by scraping too aggressively.
Strengthens and Stabilizes Reefs and Rocks. Aquarium reefs are notoriously easy to accidentally shift. Coralline algae cements reefs and rocks together. It’s basically glue designed to prevent reefs from dislodging during routine maintenance or an unexpected aquarium accident. Prevents and Combats Nuisance Algae. Coralline algae doesn’t like other algae roommates. In my experience, maintaining healthy coralline algae growth significantly reduces undesirable algae, such as green algae, mat algae, diatoms and hair algae. As it grows and encrusts the surface of reefs and rocks, it covers areas where undesirable algae likes to grow. In-Tank Chemical Defense System. Think coralline algae inhibits nuisance algae simply because it’s epiphytic, or is a plant that grows on another plant without causing harm? Think again! A vast majority of coralline species release various chemicals that literally fight off other forms of algae. Talk about beneficial!
@@FARMBOYREEF I bought this stuff and used it. It instantly tanked the PH in my aquarium from 8.2 to 7.7 in less then 2 min and killed 3 of my corals the next day.
Awesome you can see how well it worked in my tank. Make sure and check out the comments below I have some codes down there that could save you some money. I try to do what I can do for my followers I appreciate you following along.
Loving that new tower and the Coraline! It makes a Reef look so beautiful! I'm glad I've been following along with your tank it really blowing up!✌💜 Definently my favorite Reef.
Can you add it to a tank with fish shrimp and corals? Or should I take my rocks and placed them in another tank and add the coral algae? Which way should I do it? Right now, I am in a 20 gallon long. Waiting on my 45 gallon aquadock to arrive.
Now that three months has passed since this video was posted, how is your coraline? Did this stuff fill in around the areas where there is high light? Does there seem to be a dominant color in the brighter areas?
I have a 75 gallon tank , how much do I need to put because in the website it says 8 oz of the pink and purple liquid but do I need both 8oz for my tank plus half of each more for the other 25 gallons?
I used one, the tank is empty mind you, its brand new tank no inhabitants just saltwater and dry rocks, i used this and failed to follow the instructions, 1 week later it had gha bloom
I kind of disagree with you about seeding your tank using another tanks coraline algae will give you pests. There's no hard evidence of that being true. I've scraped off coraline from the back wall of my main display which had a outbreak of Aptasia and seeded it to my frag tank. And still my frag tank is pest free. I do however agree with you about Kalkwasser will grow the coraline much faster. as I run my ATO's with it. It just grows like mad.
@@FARMBOYREEF Sure.. Why wouldn’t I ? I seeded my main display with coraline algae my friend gave me from his system. My outbreak of Aptasia was my fault from a small colony of zoas. So, I’m sure it wasn’t from the coraline spores.

Beautiful aquascape
I recently used that bottle and coralline chips , within 2 weeks I have purple dots every where
Just got some pink fusion in.. lets see.
Looking good! How are the eels doing? I'm designing a tank for them right now, so any insight would be great...
Mine are doing awesome. Just make sure they eat and have a peaceful spot for them to hang out. They’re very skittish lol.
THIS PRODUCT WORKS!!!!
Lol sure does.
THANKS GOING TO ORDER IT ON AMAZON, NICE TANK! BUT IT LOOK EMPLY WITHOUT Montipora Coral !! GET SOME AND YOU TANK WILL BE ON A EPIC LEVEL
How old is you’re tank but good video

Is there a possibility it will grow on the Corals and hurt them
How do you do it naturally, how do you use this product? I have a fish only tank
Great job dude your videos rock !!!! Woooooooooo
When using this do you have to turn your UV sterilizer off?

Do you have to use the purple and pink or just the purple
Wish my tank looked half as good
Awwww thanks.
It's a good product, but it's from ARC reef products. Algae barn is a carrier.
What your fish count now?
56
Was this a paid review, or were you given the product from the company for a review? Also, can you add it to a new tank?
My tank is new I wanted
To try something that would help get the coraline started in my tank worked like a charm.
From this point, I enjoyed having coraline algae instead of real corals
Btw if you fail to follow the instructions, youll have gha instead of coralline.
I used one, the tank is empty mind you, its brand new tank no inhabitants just saltwater and dry rocks, i used this and failed to follow the instructions, 1 week later it had gha bloom
used this 2 month ago, and zero result
Will it affect my corals? I'm planning on upgrading to a bigger tank and some of my corals are on the rock.

Happy to hear that. I am saying sharing it with friends if your friend gave you some would you trust it ?

Well that’s great that it worked perfect for you 👍. It’s not recommended that all. To each their own.
