I have done Pineapple many times. No need for sugar, as it's sweet enough on it's own. I haven't tried oranges yet, but have done orange juice, just to havve on hand. I canned a few things up this week, as I was taking the time to clean out my freezer. You never know when your going to hav a power outage, and want to be sure they won't go bad if we do. 😄

Hi Carter, I love your videos! I have a Satsuma tree that is loaded...probably 200# of oranges. I decided to make orange juice. I bought a steamer juicer (VKP online). It is awesome! When I finished juicing, I noticed I had some gorgeous orange pulp left. I found a recipe for Orange Banana Jam in the new Bell Canning Cookbook. I didn't think I wanted banana flavored orange jam. I was WRONG! It is absolutely delicious! Plus, I got jam and juice from the same oranges! So far, I've made 15 qts of juice and 3 pts of jam. Lots more to go! If you purchase an extra pot to replace the colander pot of the juicer, you have a water distiller. Fantastic! I'm looking forward to using the juicer to make Elderberry syrup when it next summer! Thank you for all of your handy tips.

I canned oranges and grapefruit last month but didn't think of combining them. Maybe next time. Today we juiced 40 lbs of juice oranges, 6 lbs of lemons, and 3 lbs of limes. All in freezer. 8 qts oj, 5 half pints of lemon and 16 ice cubes of lime. Mashed potatoes going into fdryer and 12 twice baked potatoes are cooking. I love to make them up freeze them and take with us when we live in the camper. Very decadent meal lol. Your fruit looks great!! Btw dug 6 red potato plants. They were about med to small size, so leaving the remaining 20 plants for July 1 dig. We will also be digging white potatoes at our AL place after that. Last year we got 150 lbs of reds. Hope we get at least 100 lbs of whites

Constance, you are such a wonder woman! I don't know how you do all that you do. Where are you getting your citrus? The only "source" I've found here is Costco. I think my potatoes will be about the same timing as yours. They're just starting to die back. A couple more weeks, I'm guessing. I grew whites and golds this year. Can't wait to hear the final tally on your harvest!

@@growandpreserve my neighbors get food from the local
Food bank ( leftovers from giveaways they work) Sometimes, there is stuff they don't like or an abundance they don't want. They always keep the junk and convenience foods but bring case boxes of fruit or vegs to me. There were 15 bags of oranges in this load, they kept 2 bags and brought me the rest. I purchased the limes and lemons on clearance shelf at Kroger. Since purchasing my freezedryer I buy tons of clearance produce marked down and process it that day. Last week I purchased 25 bell peppers for 43 cents each and boxes of sliced mushrooms for 99 cents. Instead of buying groceries, I hit sales and say hmmm what can I use those for, then I can, freeze, dry or dehydrate them. My meals are planned from those items first. So, today I made two trays of mashed potatoes from clearance potatoes, saved enough for dinner to go with my teriyaki chicken that did not seal and I have two fresh zucchini from the garden.
