There's some interesting stories about actors having to basically re-learn their natural accents after long periods doing another one. Hugh Laurie and Gary Oldman are great examples. Heck it even extends to the physical. Hugh had to go to physical therapy because he kept walking with a limp after House finished.

You can tell they all had a good time filming this series. The actors are all so charming. I don’t want to go all woke, but look at the diversity of this cast: Danielle Brooks is very endearing and relatable as Adebayo. I’m also glad to see Steve Agee in the mix. Diversity too often (make that ALWAYS) leaves out the overweight and 40+ years old. Pay attention MCU and the rest of DC! This is diversity done right. Without jamming it in people’s faces. So very true. The irony is, it took a Marvel guy to get it done right. If only the WB gave the directors and writers time to nurture their stories and characters and have a overall gameplan with their other projects - we would not have to endure such a start/pause/stop/go course of DCEU movies. Still, this is the best live action superhero series, possibly ever made, in terms of execution, story, tone, dialogue and a sense of knowing accurately what is is.

This was merely an observation based on actual facts that he was a Marvel affiliated director - nothing more , nothing less. I noticed the irony. Do you want to deny that history and pretend it never was? Also, yes, studios can 'own' directors - it's called a contract. Don't make this a Marvel or DC thing - it never was.

@@someguy6896 Nope. What you're saying is bullshit. And your examples don't even match the context if that. It's nothing but fallacious conflation and forced extrapolation - simply put, a whole bunch of strawmanning. Again - this is not what I was saying at the beginning at all. This is your own projection, hangup and extrapolation of the situation into a DC and Marvel thing and was never a consideration in my original post. Mine was simply an observation of an interesting trivia and wasn't even the main focus of my post. You're making up stuff that never was in the text at all and extremely hung up on a tidbit that is relatively extraneous.
Fact - Gunn is someone with a Marvel pedigree and he made an excellent DC movie and series when he came aboard. This is objectively true. The irony here is someone who made and contributed to Marvel superhero movies who ended creating really great DC output. This is just an observation excised of any feelings attached to it - just historical fact. This is not a slam against DC. Me calling him a Marvel guy is just shorthand for someone has history making superhero movies for Marvel. It's an apple to apple match - how is this so confusing to you? And why should you be so triggered by this? Don't deny it - you are. That much is obvious. Either that or you're unusually pedantic over something as trivial as this.
