As a frequent Demoknight/Hybridknight enjoyer, Soldier not having an eyelander bothered me. That's why I named my Half-Zatoichi Eyelander. lt then felt weird not having a Zatoichi in my inventory, so I named my Eyelander Full-Zatoichi. It's full instead of half because I do not take any half measures. There's also, Quarter-Zatoichi, Long-Zatoichi, and the scullcutter. I did not name the scullcutter since it's in it's own league.

You should probably try again with Rocket Jumper + Batalion Backup + Half Zatoichi. Since you take a lot of hits and are constantly in Melee mode, at least you can get extra survivability and build up the buff. (Also it has a very overpowered strat against Saxton Hale)
