      Dree Xel That’s extreme. She’s still very young, and she was probably scared of the gesture he made. For most children The finger pointing = about to get scolded, she was probably startled. On the other hand I don’t think the adults should have just gone “oops sorry eat the cookie” after hearing the whole story.

      I'm sorry but if you guys actually think that was harsh for a child, that isnt good. Calling what he did as a scolding is honestly an overstatement. I understand you're saying it could seem threatening to a child but it really isn't if they are not raised being completely sheltered. This type of thought process is what creates spoiled children. At that age kids can pick things up fast and when they realize crying can get them a quick apology and attention, they'll do it. My mom told me that when I was younger and fall I'd look at her and cry because thats what kids do. So then on whenever I fell she would look away. Thus when I looked up at her and saw she wasn't looking, I'd and get up and brush it off. It really is just a matter of not babying a child and sometimes treating them slightly more maturely and they'll grow out of that crying, spoiled, manipulative behavior. I hope I didn't come off as too confrontational.

    • @Lumi0215
      @Lumi0215 4 года назад +8

      Kay No I agree with you. I was merely stating that from a child’s POV the pointing finger (and I don’t think I used the word threatened) would have probably startled her. It wouldn’t be unusual if the “pointing finger = about to get scolded” and whether kids know that they deserve it or not, they’ll cry. I think Seungi was right, and that he didn’t handle it incorrectly (though I do believe the other adults did.) but it’s also understandable from the child’s standpoint as well. It just turned out unfortunate it all. Probably would have ended better if the other kids didn’t claim that he was scolding her or made her cry, and if the adults hadn’t immediately gone to coddle, consoling is one thing, coddling is another imo.

  • @AramasG
    @AramasG 4 года назад +4669

    They were wrong to undermine him like that when he wasn't out of line in any way. They should have backed him up otherwise the children will learn to play adults against each other. Of course it would be different if he was being unfairly harsh or something but he was just looking out for her and not wanting her to get into bad habits. My sister would play her mum and dad against each other all the time and she grew up very spoiled and disrespectful because my mum would undermine her father all the time.

      I agree with you. He didn’t do anything wrong. In fact, he was very calm & casual when he spoke to the child. She just suddenly cried. I know she’s just a child but her parents have to teach her how to listen to the elders when they are being condemned by their wrong doings. If the parents keep on tolerating this kind of behavior, the child would end up spoiled & manipulative. They will see crying as their gateway from being disciplined.

      What you just said makes no sense at all. He has all the right to “scold” her (if you can even call it that) like he did. He’s taking care of her and if he felt like he needed to reprehend her, he should. If you let a child just do whatever they please, you better believe me, nothing good will come out of it.
      He had a calm tone and was smiling while talking to the little girl. As someone said previously, it’s possible the child is pampered way too much at home.
      Also, the fact that he’s a “stranger” to the little girl doesn’t matter in the slightest. I’m currently doing an internship with children her age and when i scold the kids none of them get shocked or cry like she did. Why? Because they get discipline and scolded when they need to.

    For me, it's better let lee seunggi handle her till she stop crying(talk and coax) when she started crying. That way she knows that eating lunch is more important than eating cookies, so then she can control in the future. And the most important is so she knows uncle has good intention. This is from my experience as elementary teacher for 10 years. I met many kids with different characters and backgrounds and I always take care same group of kids for at least 5 years. So when to teach them I need to be firm. This is because when other adult said like "why you mad at her" "you shouldn't angry at her" when we know what Lee seunggi done is right (only asking and trying to talk to her). It's like giving green light, it's ok to do it often(skipping breakfast & lunch) and seems what Lee seunggi aim to say or teach is not right in this small kid's perspective. But don't get me wrong it's only applicable if we are teaching good thing but for harming, harassing, insulting for sure other adult should step in.

      Further agreed! The way i see it is that the child knew afterwards that everything was fine and that LSG wasn't being harsh on her. When she realised that it was okay and that he didn't mean any harm, she instantly went to hug him. She just started crying, because she is sensitive and kept crying in his arms, because she needed to calm down.
    She knew that it was a misunderstanding, but the other adults ruined this by meddling into a matter that was not meant for them to handle..
    Edit:
    Though I can definitely understand how the others instinctively wanted to protect the child, but they needed to give LSG and her the chance to handle this on their own nonetheless, after they saw how sorry LSG felt (especially since he did nothing wrong here).

      @@jellobeen5572 Its completely true. I have little cousins and they just cry to get us older kids in trouble. So we say nothing happened and just don't mind them. They just stop crying and they pretend as if nothing happened. I used to be like that at school because of pressure and fainted when I lost my math paper and when the teacher made me stand up I fainted

      Honestly yall are so uneducated when it comes to kids and babies. All of a sudden if there is no “harsh scolding “ and a kid cry all of a sudden “they are a brat and spoilt .Don’t you even understand Different Kid REACT TO DIFFERENT SITUATIONS .It might not have been a harsh scolding but she is a FUCKING FOUR YEAR OLD who might have STARTLED AND SCARED SO AS A Response and explaining how they feel THEY CRY .The fuck is going through ur small brain just accusing a kid of being a “brat,spoilt manipulative “ just coz one kid doesn’t cry in a situation like this doesn’t mean all kids will .stop fucking generalising kids into the same categories when all kids act different
      (From a majored psychology who have WORKED W KIDS! And not just flipping person throwing out random bullshit bc u saw kids that don’t react like this and think all kids would not react like this therefore assume they are a brat!) Have a lovely day 😊😌

    I talk like this to my nephew all the time. He just doesn’t care and keeps on what he’s doing. On the other hand, my niece is like this girl, very sensitive. She cries because she feels guilty very easily even when I talk to her calmly. To me, when kids cry after you scold or teach them calmly, it means they take what you say to their hearts and don’t just ignore you.

      Cookifer Lawroney She doesn’t need to be his child for him to scold her properly when he feels like it’s appropriate. Also, if you work as a babysitter and you cave in every time a child cries, you’re screwed. As a kindergarten teacher let me tell you that you’re creating very bad habits and the thing is, you’re not the one who will suffer with the bad habits you’ve created, it’s the parents.

      @@mochiraquel everyone started gathering around him, like he did some thing wrong so obviously he can't stay strict. Also, it's the parents job to discipline their kids and if an outsider starts scolding their kids, most parents won't approve of this, especially from a babysitter, they'll probably just lose their job when the kid cries and complain to their parents.

    • @mochiraquel
      @mochiraquel 4 года назад +5

      @@menace2819 And i totally understand he couldn't stay strict because of everyone gathering around him, but their behavior towards the situation at hand wasn't really the best.
      Of course it's the parents job to discipline their kid. Where did you see me state otherwise? But a babysitter, a teacher or even a helper also play a big role on educating the children. They learn from everyone around them, not just their parents.
      If you're paying someone to take care of your kid all day they WILL and they SHALL scold them when they deem necessary. And by scolding i don't mean anything harsh, obviously, but simply letting the child know what they did was wrong is something that will influence positivitely their personality.
