    Please remember, for Turkish people on low incomes relying on lira, these prices are ridiculously expensive for them, so when your over here on holiday you can help businesses by spending all your money :), eat out often🤣 and tip the workers if you can afford 🙏🙋‍♀️🥰

    Love your videos. My wife and I used to stay at calis beach for a month at a time. We loved it. We would rent a car and go out touring and stayed in many of the places you have highlighted. You have inspired me to come back to Turkey in the autumn (sadly my wife has passed away) subject to covid, my aim is to buy a sailing yacht and maybe an apparment. We promised ourselves that we would retire to calis beach, I feel compelled to fulfil our dreams even though I will have to do this solo. The Turkish people are so friendly and helpful. I only have positive experiences. Please keep up the great work you both do. 👍

    On two separate trips to Istanbul, both about 10 days, every single meal was remarkable. I went back three times to one place, 'Çukur Meyhane' (near the Galatasaray school) - because the food was so good, it almost brought tears to my eyes (maybe it was the Raki?). And for profiteroles (cream puffs in fudge sauce), a famous place called 'Inci' - I almost couldn't speak after one bite of those. I don't usually want desserts, but I had two big portions. I love the tea, of course, and drank the fresh orange juice all day long- I grew up on orange juice in California, and Turkish orange juice is like a taste of heaven. The best part is that the food was so fresh and nutritious as well- I feel so healthy when I am there, even if I eat too much! Yes, this video was a little bit of torture, but thank you!!!

    Hi I enjoyed the video and I look forward to watching the others you have made You say Turkey has some of the best food in the world and then eat Indian/Chinese/Italian/Spanish and English (fish & chips). Interesting. Away from the resorts of the Aegean and Med, in the real Turkey where I live, dining out is not an option, mainly because of lack of variety (kebab, kebab or kebab?) but also cost. For every hour you work I have to work 10 hours - I am paid in Turkish lira - so a holiday in Fethiye is beyond the means of a regular Turkish person. I am not having a go and it's good that you pinned a comment that these prices are too much for average Turkish people.
    By the way, I live in the place where you say they produce the best ice-cream in the world. You are very welcome to come visit!

    Actually it is a little bit strange , although the lira has lost of its value over the last 8 years but still the prices are cheap, it means Turkey business are not changing the local prices according to the exchange rate , and as I can see still you are receiving the same quality of service and the same quality of food. Any other country if the exchange rate will drop then immediately the goods prices and services will go up to compensate the difference in the exchange rate. If the Goods and service prices are not going up then maybe that is why life is as usual for Turkish people. I can understand that any thing that is imported from outside Turkey definitely will go up , but luckily a wonderful country like Turkey has every thing.

      @Yeet42069 2 года назад

      "Any other country if the exchange rate will drop then immediately the goods prices and services will go up to compensate the difference in the exchange rate" No, it depends on how much said country relies on import to provide its services and products. If your locals foods are imported, the price will hike up as inflation hits and the national coin devalues because international trading becomes more expensive to the country in question. Turkey is one of the few self sufficient countries on the planet because of their extremely rich farm land and good soil, they simply don't rely on foreign trade for food so their food market isn't affected as much as a country who relies on importation to feed its people.

      @@travelguy1564 Hi we were just in kas and met an American lady who's partner was Turkish they were staying in Kalkan. Fethiye area Inc calis Oludeniz hisaronu. Kas and Kalkan are beautiful but are a bit more expensive. Fethiye has the harbour for boat trips around the inlets. Hisaronu is on a plateau has shops clubs and restaurants at night the main street is for pedestrians. Oludeniz also has shops restaurants a beach but also has the blue lagoon for a small charge to enter. Watch Micks video on food and prices that's useful. I can't comment on Bodrum or Mamaris as they are cities and we are not city people. Mick does videos on them also. You can send messages on Micks threads to ask his opinion about how safe it is for Americans, for us we have the outlook is anywhere safe but be polite show respect and we receive the same back. I'm also ex military so I'm always aware of my surroundings as my wife rolls her eyes but no harm just being aware of what's going on around you. As far as I can tell after a year this area is safe for westerners. I have asked Mick questions and he has got back to me. Any other questions ask away anytime if I can help I will.
